Kurt and Monet, New Year's Eve
Dec. 31st, 2009 08:17 pmKurt and Monet have an anniversary date, then Kurt makes a suggestion. It doesn't go down as well as he hoped.
Monet gave a little wave to the limo driver as he left, white knuckled and directing cautious looks back up the hill toward Xavier's. All the local taxi and driving services reacted that way, as though memories of what the students had gotten up to back in the day had been worked into larger than life sized terrifying legend.
She grinned at Kurt. "Dude."
He smiled back happily. "I hoped you would enjoy it. For the special occasion, and so on."
She said, "They had those amazing desserts..."
"One of many factors that helped me choose it." He reached for her hand as they started towards the school. "You do enjoy a good dessert, I know."
"Me and Jake had three things in common. Desserts, being the most gorgeous people alive and desserts."
"The second I will certainly agree with in your case", he said gallantly, "...and I suppose aesthetically in Jake's."
Monet rolled her eyes. "Fine, get him to put some breasts on again and then tell me what you think."
"If he reappears, perhaps." He grinned. "But I think you would still win."
"Yeah..."
They lapsed into a comfortable silence on that, until they were approaching the front door, and then Kurt paused and turned to look at her. "Monet? Could I ask you about something?"
"Yeah? What is it?"
"It... has been a year now, liebling", he started tentatively. "And you know how many nights one of us spends in the other's room... or perhaps better to say how rarely we do not. And I have been thinking... perhaps it might not be better to free up one of those rooms."
Monet stared at him. "Fuck. I don't know, Kurt. I don't know. I need to think about this, okay? Fuck."
"Of course", he said hurriedly. "No need for an answer tonight, or before you are ready. And if it is too soon..."
"Okay," Monet said, kissing him and leading him up the stairs towards him room.
