Kevin, Catseye & Amara | Thursday evening
Jan. 21st, 2010 04:05 pmKevin wants to go swimming but walks in on a naked Catseye floating in the pool. Amara walks in on a naked Catseye pouncing on a fully clothed Kevin in the pool. Somehow it all results in an offer of swimming lesson.
Staring up at the bright lights on the ceiling of the indoor pool, the naked catgirl floated on her back, steering herself in a lazy circle with her tail. She was supposed to be doing laps for training, but was feeling rather unmotivated, and the lights were so pretty and warm-looking. It was quite the sensation to have her ears under water, too- she found the differences in volume and tone to be a fascinating study, and between the lights and the muted sounds Catseye found all her attention diverted.
Swimming was a good way to work out kinks and Lord knew Kevin had worked up enough kinks in his muscles from working metal all day. Of course, swimming meant a lack of clothing, especially compared to how much he normally wore. He'd gotten into the habit of checking in to see if anyone was in the pool before he bothered. One person he could deal with without having to worry much. But four? Not so much.
Unfortunately for Kevin when he stopped in he had the deceptive assurance of there just being one person. He caught the purple of the girl's hair and had come closer to say hi and see if she minded sharing the pool for a bit. But the closer he got the more something seemed a little off. Until he was close enough to realize that there was a Catseye...but there was no bathing suit. Kevin actually jumped a little, abruptly spun around and raised a hand to shield his eyes. "Uh, Cats?"
Hearing the muffled sound of a familiar voice, Catseye splashed herself around to the shallow end so she could gain her footing and stand up to see and hear properly. "Kevin! Hi Kevin!" she greeted happily, waving an arm over her head.
Kevin was pointedly refusing to turn and face her. Instead he waved a hand over his head in her general direction. "Hey, um, Cats? Y'know...uh, you know people wear clothing in pools, right?" It was so wrong on so many levels for him to stare at the naked catgirl. Which meant he couldn't possibly try to look anywhere near her because, well...he was male, she was hot. It wasn't hard to do that math.
"Oh!" Catseye burst into giggling, losing her footing and nearly swallowing a mouthful of water as she laughed. "I forgot! I took my swimsuit off! Sorry Kevin! Kevin it is over there by you can you bring it to me?"
He was one heartbeat away from groaning at the request. "Why'd you take it off?" So she could feel the water between her-No, no, bad thought! Bad thought! Kevin inched away from Catseye, eyes sweeping around looking for her discarded swimsuit.
"Because clothes stop me from feeling everything," she answered matter-of-factly, without having to think about it. "Clothes make me only able to feel clothes. I hate clothes. Especially when they are clingy and wet! I like to feel things on my skin that are real things like wind and water and sun and dirt, not clothes! How come you like clothes Kevin?" she countered curiously.
"What, like, in general? Or like why do Ah wear three layers of 'em?" Kevin finally found her swimsuit and picked it up. He then began to inch backward slowly. That's right, amazingly undignified but he was going to hopefully not fall into the pool by walking backward so he didn't end up seeing way more of his friend than he really should. Though God knew the image of her naked and floating in the water was probably permanently burned into his brain.
"Why do you wear so many?" she clarified, paddling around in a small circle as she waited for Kevin to inch closer to the edge of the pool. "Because you are afraid people might touch you and you will hurt them?"
"Yeah, pretty much." Inch by inch he crept closer, eyes on the floor so he could see when the edge of the pool was coming up. "Ah had a hole in a glove once. Lost my whole sketchbook 'cause of it. If Ah wear enough layers a hole Ah don't see doesn't matter at much." But it wasn't just that. It felt more secure. Every layer was another step toward protecting people from him. It all was a waste when he didn't really interact with them that often, but that was more a product of his personality than his paranoia these days.
With the edge of the pool in sight, Kevin crouched down and held the swimsuit out behind him for her to take. Awkward. So very, very awkward.
Catseye regarded the swimsuit for a moment, then tilted her head impishly (though she knew Kevin couldn't see her) and grabbed one of his sleeve-clad arms with both of her own, hauling him downward as she tried to dunk him.
He had enough time to think, Oh damn, before he lost his footing. Kevin found himself sailing through the air and then splashing into the water. There was enough time to take a breath and keep water from being inhaled, but he was really going to kill her.
Kevin reached out and got an arm around Catseye's waist once his moment of shock past. He pulled her in closer to him and downward, trying to pull her under the water as well. If he had to suffer so did she.
Flailing and spluttering, Catseye tried to kick out at Kevin as he dunked her, reminding herself that it was just a game, not to use her claws on Kevin because that could hurt them both and that Kevin wouldn't really hurt her. She landed a kick to the back of his knee and tried to wriggle away, hissing like a drowning cat and trying not to giggle and swallow more water.
The kick took his knee out, buckling it but not hurting him. Kevin's weight got pulled down, but unfortunately for Catseye she took out the leg closer to her so his weight went toward her. If he didn't surface soon Kevin was going to have a problem holding his breath, but he didn't worry about that yet. Instead he pulled and tried to roll her under him so she couldn't escape her watery fate. Even if she was taller than him.
Trying a new tactic, Catseye let herself go limp, and the air in her lungs had her naked body being pressed against Kevin as she was rolled under him. Let us see how Mister Uncomfortable handles this! she thought diabolically to herself.
Victory! Well, sort of. Now he had to be able to breathe. Kevin was doing his best to ignore the fact that she was pressed up against him. If he didn't actually look very far down at her then he could pretend she was wearing a swimsuit. Acknowledging that he was wrestling with a naked girl in the pool...well that could get really uncomfortable down below potentially.
Kevin surfaced, blinking away the water as he pulled in a deep breath. And he hoped he wouldn't find himself submerged once again. Proximity would make that a problem for her. Unless she used the same tactic he'd just employed.
Catseye lunged herself at Kevin, hooking her arms around his shoulders carefully and pressing her front against his back, trying to either make him squirm or haul him backwards, knowing he would land on her but figuring she could try to roll over him after she got him under the water again.
"You're like a spider monkey!" Kevin tried to reach behind himself at her, but his gloved fingers only got the smooth expanse of bare skin. He kept trying to grab her somehow to pull her off his back, but she was firmly attached and he was a little distracted by the excessive amount of naked girl going on here!
"I am a cat not a monkey!" Catseye screeched playfully, trying to take out Kevin's knees again.
"You're a monkey-cat!" Kevin was trying to kick his legs out and away from her, swimming them backward a little bit each time. She kicked, he kicked, he tried to grab her off his back and really it was all a squirming ball of limbs.
"Yesyesyes I am a monkey-cat! A monkey-cat who is going to dunk you under the water like a cracker in soup Mister Kevin the Sturdy-Like-A-Bull Man!" Changing her tactic, she hooked an arm around his neck and threw herself to the side, then quickly forward to try and throw him off balance. This had her now pressed against his chest, one leg between his two as she tried to hook her foot around his calf.
Ever since the trip to the beach, Amara had contemplated actually learning how to swim. Which is why she was in the pool area right now, wrapped in a gown with her bathing suit underneath. She'd been planning on just spending some time in the water, except -- well. The pool looked quite occupied. It was possible she should retreat in a hurry, this was entirely not the sort of thing she really wanted to be spying on. But instead she was rooted to the spot, her eyes wide and vaguely horrified.
Kevin was still struggling against the purple-haired catgirl. She got that foot hooked around his calf and he felt the firm tug pull his leg out from under him. He went under at once, her weight riding him down to the shallow end's floor. He was trying to squirm away but it was no use. So he tried to play dirty. A gloved hand went groping around behind her trying to find Catseye's tail so he could tug on it.
Catseye let out a yowl, mouth filling with water as her tail was pulled, and she nearly scratched Kevin's arm but managed to pull her claws back a second before making contact. The surprise of having her tail pulled had her letting go of Kevin and shooting to the surface of the water, where she spotted Amara. "Hi Amara!" she waved happily.
When Catseye spoke to her, Amara finally snapped her mouth shut, her lips pressed together momentarily before she replied. "Hello, Catseye. Kevin." She glanced away in a hurry, not wanting to get any more glimpses of the naked catgirl. Really. Honestly, that was so inappropriate.
Gasping for air took precedence over noticing someone else was around. Until Kevin heard his name. He looked up toward the voice, pushing his hair out of his face and realized it was Amara. Amara who he barely knew beyond the fact that, well, she was hot. Kind of really hot. And now she wasn't looking at them. He glanced at Catseye for a clue as to why and got a full shot of naked catgirl boobs. Oh Jesus! He clamped a hand over his eyes the moment he remembered that, why, yes she did happen to be completely buck naked. "Uh...hi 'Mara. Ah, um. This isn't. Uh. She was naked when Ah got here?" He was turning steadily more and more pink.
In a hissing whisper and trying to blindly elbow Catseye in the side Kevin asked, "Cats, where's your swimsuit?!"
"Hmm..." Catseye looked around, and saw her swimsuit floating near the other end of the pool. On the bottom. "It is down there. Amara do you want to play wrestling with us?"
"I'm quite fine, thank you very much." She straightened up, looking over in their direction without actually properly looking at either of them. "I would suggest that you put the suit back, Catsye, considering we have young children that use this part of the property."
Catseye said down so Kevin looks down. Down there had to start down wherever it was. Also she was tall enough that if he looked down he wouldn't see anything he shouldn't have. His eyes fixed on his poor, chlorinated shoes and then began to move over the floor of the pool in search of the swimsuit he had been holding before he'd gotten yanked into the pool. He found Catseye's feet, then her legs and then caught a glimpse of purple. The purple drew his eyes until he blanched and burst out in a bright red when he realized what was purple up by her thighs. Oh Lord Ah'm goin' to hell, he thought and immediately diverted his eyes. The awkwardness in his posture grew exponentially.
Kevin spun away from Catseye and purely by accident caught sight of her swimsuit at the other end. "Um...Ah-Ah'll go get the bathing suit." He very, very quickly dove under the water and swam away from Catseye. He stopped at the edge of the pool to pull off his shoes, though his socks obviously had to remain on. Then off he went away from the naked girl, the hot blonde and further embarrassing torment.
"Well I was using this part of the property before everyone else came here," Catseye grumped. She hated wet bathing suits, especially putting them on when they were already wet! But she knew it was the RightThing to put it on so she struggled into it, hopping around from leg to leg in the pool. "Okay I have clothes on. Can Kevin and Amara stop acting funny now?"
"And?" Amara didn't look too impressed by Catseye's defense. "And if it had been Valentia or Leong and Nga who walked past while you were in here swimming? It would not be appropriate for them to be seeing you like this." She glanced over at Kevin. "Let alone seeing you wrestling with someone."
Swallowing hard, Kevin began to shrink away from Catseye. Mostly he was trying to avoid the scolding Amara was doling out. Was she supposed to be that hot when she looked that annoyed? He said nothing, of course, hoping silence would deflect the wrath from him. He was also steadily sinking until only his eyes peered at the girls from just above the water's surface. He felt like he was in trouble and he wasn't even the naked one attacking people!
"Everyone is naked sometimes even children and I am sure children can understand that it is mostly aduits who worry about not appropriate," Catseye pointed out. "But I understand it is the RightThing to wear clothes in the pool so I am wearing clothes now." She wasn't going to apologize to Amara, since Amara wasn't a teacher or parent, but she did have the good sense to sound contrite at least. "Even if clothes are itchy," she muttered under her breath to herself. "Now that I have clothes on do you want to come play with us Amara?"
"Thank you," she said somewhat grudgingly. It wasn't really Amara's place to keep lecturing the girl, especially when she had put her suit back on. If someone else ran into her naked another time, they could deal with it.
"... and really, I'm fine," she continued awkwardly. Nothing against Kevin and Catseye, honestly, but wrestling, whether in the water or not, was not really her thing.
"Don't look fine," Kevin muttered quietly, forgetting his mouth was under the water. Chlorinated water flooded his mouth and he stood up abruptly, sputtering out pool water and coughing. "That was gross," he croaked once he was able to pull in some air without immediately choking. The Southerner looked up sheepishly. "Uh...don't mind me. Ah'll just be...um, getting out of the pool now that Ah'm not bein' attacked." He started to inch away from Catseye as he said that so she couldn't just immediately pounce on him again.
Catseye eyed the two others suspiciously, especially Kevin. "I thought you two came here to swim? How come no one is coming in the water? Are you afraid of me?" she teased. "Afraid I will challenge you to a race maybe?"
"Please, don't let me interrupt," she replied. "It's fine, really, I hadn't really planned on swimming, I just wanted to spend some time in the water. I can come back later."
"Kevin's fully clothed," he pointed out to Catseye. "And talkin' 'bout yourself in the third person's still weird." He shook his head and placed his palms flat on the floor outside the pool. He pulled himself up and out of the water. He also gave himself a significant glance downward to make sure the slight problem that had been forming was gone. It was, thank God. "And you shouldn't leave, 'Mara, if you don't wanna. Just, Ah dunno, don't look her in the eyes and you won't encourage her," he joked with a hopeful sort of tone. Kevin hoped the playfulness wouldn't backfire on him.
"It is not weird," Catseye assured him. If anyone understood third person, it was Catseye. "And what is Amara not supposed to encourage me to do? How come no one wants to play with me anymore?" she asked with a pout, stamping her foot after she'd climbed over the side of the pool.
Amara hadn't actually meant to offend either him, so she shifted on her feet, glancing down. "It's not -- it's just --" She sighed, glancing up and looking a little embarrassed. "I don't know how to swim, and I don't want to hurt you if I panic while I'm in the pool. Or overheat the water while there is someone else in there." Now she felt bad for upsetting Catseye, even if she had been annoyed with the girl just a few minutes before.
Kevin held his arms out to the sides and watched the water drip off of himself. "Hey, you appropriated me, catgirl. Forcible theft or somethin' like that." But then he realized that Amara had just said she couldn't swim. "Really? You never learned?" He raised an eyebrow at the blonde, arms dropping to his sides. "Maybe we got floaties 'round here somewhere." He managed to kept the amusement over that mental image out of his voice, but a small smile crept onto his lips soon after.
Catseye nodded at Kevin's suggestion about floaties. "Yesyesyes! We can help Amara learn how to swim! It will be fun! Do not worry about hurting us Amara! I have a healing factor." She wasn't sure what Kevin had, other than the fact that she sensed he wanted to spend more time with Amara and quite possibly wouldn't care about the danger of her panicking on him. "Kevin can be your coach and I can be your helper and swim with you if you want!" That way he and Amara wouldn't have to worry about hurting each other. "And then when you can swim we can have races!"
Looking back down at his sopping wet clothing, Kevin sighed. He was never getting to wear dry clothes again, was he? Or actual swim trunks while in the pool. "Yeah, we could teach you. Start in the shallow end so you don't have to worry 'bout panicking. Ah mean, if you can just stand up and have your head 'bove water then there's not much to panic about, right? Ah think we got one of those floating noodle things 'round here somewhere." He didn't actually wait for her to agree before padding off to look for that, socks making a squishing noise with every step.
Amara opened her mouth, and then promptly closed it again, not entirely sure what to say. She hadn't meant to solicit a swimming lesson - well, yes, it could be good to learn, and could it really hurt to at least try and let them teach her? She hadn't been entirely sure who she could ask to teach her (other than Manuel, and she was certainly not about to do that), so maybe this could be a good opportunity.
"Well, if you're sure --" For someone who never hesitated to offer her help when she thought it was needed, she was not particularly good at accepting it from others.
"'Course we're sure," Kevin said while rifling through a bunch of deflated floats, tubes and other various pool toys. Why did they have so many things for the pool? He figured maybe people bought them in the summer and used them. The summer, when he was wearing three layers of clothes still and hiding. Well, at least when he was here. In California he'd started to look like a normal person in the summer at least.
"Why would we say it if we were not sure?" Catseye inquired curiously, tail twitching. She started blowing up random pieces of floating things and tossing them in the pool. "Oh look Kevin it is a dinosaur!" she crowed, holding up an inner tube with a dinosaur design on it. "Can we give Amara the dinosaur?"
Kevin looked from Catseye's enthusiastic face to the dinosaur and then to Amara. "Yeah, Ah think she should have the dinosaur. He can be like her pool guardian or somethin'." One day Kevin was going to find a wetsuit or something like that he could wear. And then he wouldn't end up in weird situations like this where he was preparing to get back into a pool fully clothed. His boxers were really uncomfortable right now.
"Well. Thank you." Amara smiled a little hesitantly, finally shedding the robe she was wearing and leaving it and her towel on a bench, sliding off her sandals before walking towards the shallow end of the pool. Her suit was one piece and navy blue, and about as modest as you could get when it came to swimsuits these days.
"Just no wrestling quite yet, yes?"
"Wrestling can come later," Catseye promised with a vigorous nod, "once you can swim. But after that you must wrestle with us Amara! It is so much fun!"
Staring up at the bright lights on the ceiling of the indoor pool, the naked catgirl floated on her back, steering herself in a lazy circle with her tail. She was supposed to be doing laps for training, but was feeling rather unmotivated, and the lights were so pretty and warm-looking.
