While the combination of Monet's strength and her ongoing unsteadiness on her feet meant she could seldom wear heels, she sometimes did, even knowing full well that they would rarely last more than one wear before something broke. Or she fell in some horribly public place.

Today, a pair of boots she'd bought only last week had broken before she'd even left the room as she'd stumbled, tried to right herself and broken the heel off her left boot in the process. She tugged the shoes off, tossing them onto the couch and stuck her head out the door, spotting Laura. "Hey!" Monet called. "I need to go shopping. Want to come? And drive us into town and all?"

"Eh? Sure?" Laura was zoning out, thinking about purple cougars and deer hunting, but the word shopping managed to catch her attention. "I don't have a car though...and hi! I'm Laura."

"Monet," she said, introducing herself. "That's okay. We can take one from the car pool. So, shopping? I need to get a pair of shoes." She grabbed her handbag (or at least, the handbag currently holding the collection of phone, wallet, makeup, emergency hairbrush, emergency eyeshadow and nail files Monet felt it necessary to carry with her at all times). She picked up a pair of sandals and smiled at Laura.

Car pool suddenly sounded like the coolest thing ever, so Laura was more than interested. Making sure she was actually carrying her wallet, the girl have an energetic nod at Monet. "Alright, let's go then; I had been trying to convince myself to get some sandals anyway." She then headed for the garage. "So we can just pick a car and get out with it? Pops didn't tell me that! I'm sure he thought I would take the first chance to go shopping or something...oops."

"Yeah, pick one and as long as you're licensed to drive it, you're good." Monet blinked at the reference to sandles. "You sure about that? I mean, I can pull them off, but I'm invulnerable. Most people leave off on that till the snow's all gone." Although, she was related to Logan somehow, wasn't she? "I suppose you'd be right, though, if you've got anything like Logan's powers?

Laura's face lit up. "Awesome! I saw some nice rides there." The remark on sandals was of course the one she had been getting all the time by people who obviously thought there was no way someone could go out to the snow without socks and shoes. "Well, the claws on my feet kind of cut through my socks and whatever I'm wearing, so it's a bother. I don't mind keeping them in the whole time, but you never know! Besides, it's not that cold, but I don't know if that's related to me being her daughter and everything." She didn't have fur or anything, but she was certainly more resilient, perhaps?

"Awesome. It's always good to know that other people aren't stuck wearing stupid-arsed winter boots unless they actually want to," Monet said. "Also, claws? I'll have to get you to show me them at some point." They'd walked as they talked, arriving in the garage. "Dude, which car do you want? Apparently those four over there are the car pool ones." She gave the shrug of the willfully ignorant. Unable to drive, she didn't much bother with things like which cars were available to the students.

Laura grinned a little as they walked. "I'll show you when we are picking shoes, provided nobody is peeking." Once in the garage, Laura took some minutes to look at the cars. She really wanted to take some of the awesome-looking, but the Jeep one was good enough. And it was big. Entering the car -not before pointing at it to Monet with a gleeful expression on her face-, Laura used some seconds to get used to it. "Alright, let's get going then...you might want to guide me a little though."

Monet settled in the passenger seat and winced. "Fuck. You know I only know my way around flying, right?" and even then, not reliably. She pulled out the car's street directory and pointed. "Go that way."

Laura giggled a little. "I'm sure that flying to the mall is pretty damn simple." After all, when you go above things you usually go in a straight line, right? "Alright, that way it is!"
