Doreen and Artie
Apr. 13th, 2010 11:02 am(Backdated about a month because I suck and didn't post this due to my week of FAIL.)
Artie knocked on the door to Dori's suite. He'd been back from Attilan for a day or two but was still jetlaggaged and hadn't yet run into her. He had a plastic bag in one hand, a souvenir from his trip.
Doreen opened the door, she was back from her mom and her Grandpa's with a
boatload of candy and a couple of Easter gifts as well. She brightened when she saw Artie, smiling around a mouth full of Jolly Rancher, "Welcome back!"
He smiled and gave a little wave and held out his free hand for a Jolly Rancher. A cartoon just to one side showed Artie and Dori smile, wave and then walk away both looking sad and then briefly, Artie and Dori under a sign saying 'Attlian', looking happy before he crossed it out. You should have come.
Dori forked over a jolly rancher and then talked with her mouth full, "I know, but Mom wanted me home for Easter and I couldn't really say no."
Artie's tongue flicked out as he ate the sweet. Putting the bag down, he signed, "That's a shame. Attilan's trippy. It's a weird place."
"Next time I'll totally try to go, promise," Doreen said, x-ing over her heart.
"Good. Hey, I got you these comics. They're like, not in English or anything, or at least half of it is in Portuguese, but they're kind of weird - they're all about superheroes in Atillan while it was gone and things." He picked up the bag and handed it over.
"Oh, neat!" Doreen said, peeking in the back, her tail high up and happy, "These will be fun to read. We should read them together or something."
"Sure! I read a couple on the plane and they're really fun."
"That'll be great! So, want to go play guitar hero or something? It'll be fun!"
Artie nodded. "Okay! I'll kick your ass again", he said and settled on the couch, picking up one of the plastic guitars.
Dori carefully picked up hers, "I don't know. I'm getting better," Doreen said. You won't even believe it."
"A trip to Count Donutella's and a donut says I'll still win," Artie commented, grinning.
