Alison comes across Shinobi in the rec room during his IM'd chat with Marie, and stops to chat briefly before continuing on her mission to feed Hank.

The rec room is largely empty, this close to dinnertime, but the sounds of a movie filter out into the hall from within. Shinobi's sitting crosslegged on the sofa with his laptop open, splitting his attention between it and the movie on the TV screen - the last twenty minutes or so of Equilibrium. He glances towards the movie as yet another shootout scene kicks in, but a quiet *bling* comes from his laptop and steals his attention away again.

Even as he looks at his laptop, Alison sticks her head in the room, looking a bit tired despite her efforts to hide it. "Hey," she calles out as she spots Shinobi, waiting for him to invite her in before walking in side however, just in case this is a 'retreat from everyone else' sort of thing.

"Hey," Shinobi echoes, taking a moment to type before he looks up to offer Alison a similarly tired smile. He thinks a moment before nodding at a free spot of couch, rubbing the back of his head. "Feeling alright?"

"Eh," Alison shrugs, ignoring the protests from the small cuts on her arm as she does so, figuring Hank can look at them later when the others are settled in and Alex is taken care of. And Lorna. "Heading down to get Hank some food, but five more minutes won't hurt... and sitting down sounds good," she sighs as she sinks on the couch, closing her eyes for a moment while trying to relax. "You?"

He considers the question for a moment before nodding his head in agreement. "'Eh' about sums it up here, too. Trying to de-eh myself through science fiction, and Marie's trying to snap me out of it." He gestures to the TV and his laptop, respectively. "She says 'hi, Ali', incidentally. I get the impression it's in a cheery, girly voice, too."

A low chuckle greets that statement, Alison shaking her head, a glimmer of the previous evening's mischeviousness piercing through. "We had fun dancing last night," she snickers, remembering only too well how some of the students had stared at that, no less.

"It certainly looked like fun," Shinobi admits, smiling wryly as he looks down to answer another cheerful *bling* from his computer. "Very tempted to take on your dance class after the break. My knowledge is kind of limited."

A wide grin, not entirely faked to tell the truth. "Now why didn't I think of that before, to spruce up the number of students in the dancing class?" she laughs lowly, shaking her head. "There's a thought..."

Shinobi blinks slowly, peering at Alison out of the corner of his eye as he pokes enter. "Oh dear. Did I just give you a schemey idea, Miss Blaire?" He can't help but grin a little, leaning away. "I can run very fast.."

"Yeah, but I know where you live," she answers, smugness competing with self-satisfaction. "Might talk to Marie about joining up though. If nothing else, it'll do her good and provide an hour of garanteed fun and relaxation for her. That's good."

"Valid points," Shinobi agrees, allowing himself a genuine smile as he straightens back up in his seat. "That.. hm. Yeah, that might be good," he nods, glancing down to his screen with a thoughtful expression. "She's just gone off for dinner, but I'll ask her about it tomorrow."

Alison slides him a sideways look, and smiles innocently. "But Shinobi... I meant that I'd be asking her to the classs as my partner." She eyes her fingernails, still perfect despite the previous night. "You can ask Sarah if you like," she offers idly.

"I've offered to teach Sarah to dance already. She eyed me like I was insane. Don't think it'd work." Shinobi can't help but pout a little, reaching over to lightly poke Alison in the ribs. "Besides, don't you have a co-instructor? You have a partner, you greedy woman."

A serene expression greets his question, regardless of the poke in her ribs which thankfully missed any cut she'd picked up during the fight. "Mine," she murmurs cheerfully, winking at him slowly. "Kurt usually takes care of the younger kids and starts them off. I get the older kids. I've been wanting a partner for a while now too..."

"I suppose offering myself wouldn't work, with Marie as my competition," Shinobi sighs in good-humored defeat, even if it *was* a little disappointing. "Fine. Meanie. I really don't think I could get Sarah to do it, though, no matter what I bribed her with."

"Yeah, but then you'd get to watch Marie and I dance some more," Alison offers blithely, or so it seemed. "Makes up for not being able to dance with either of us, no?" She gets to her feet, lips quirking. "Might be for the best for Sarah not to be along?" Ready to dodge, just in case.

"I'm a realist, luv," Shinobi counters innocently, setting his laptop carefully off to the side so he, too, can dodge if he needs to. "If two girls are interested in each other, chances are they're not going to let me play, too. So while it may be nice to watch, in the end it's just frustrating."

But Alison simply chuckles, waggling her eyebrows at him. "That's a healthy attitude to take," she beams, amused by the entire conversation. "And I have a mission to accomplish right now, which is mainly getting food down to Hank, soon. You going to be ok?"

"I should probably eat, actually," Shinobi says after a moment, eyeing the TV before reaching for the remote. He can watch his movie later. "And I need to see Hank.. but I can do that later, if you want him to yourself?" He pauses a moment, realizing he didn't really answer the question, frowning slightly and looking towards his laptop in thought. "Um.. maybe. I think. Yes."

"If you think not," she nods, letting him sort it out for now if that's what he wants, "and need to talk to someone... well, there's more than a few in the mansion you can do that with. Which I think you know," she adds, with a hint of approval in her voice. "I would like Hank to myself for a bit, in fact, but going to see him after is all good. You can make sure he gets some sleep maybe? Or bring him down a snack too. With his metabolism, more food than I can carry isn't bad."

"I'm seeing Samson about it tomorrow, and Hank tonight," Shinobi replies quietly, leaning back against the sofa and reaching over to close his laptop. "I'll feed myself, and then bring him something when I go down, if only to make myself feel a bit more useful." He nods once, to himself, taking a deep breath before looking up and forcing a grin. "I'll be fine."

She leans down, tapping his nose. "We have to be, yes. But you don't need to reassure me that you're fine now hon." She doesn't comment on the killing, both he and Sarah did, one perhaps brushing it off with far more ease than the other - something she herself nonetheless avoided. The difference between skill and growing experience, or something else entirely? "But so long as you don't lie to yourself, I can't complain," she straightens up, taking a step back and getting ready to wander off on her mission of food enabling.

Shinobi goes crosseyed as his nose is tapped, blinking twice as he eyes the offending fingertip's retreat. "I.. hm. Right." This wasn't fair. His mind was much less conflicting ten minutes ago. Giving himself a mental shake, he looks up again, offering Alison an apologetic smile. "I know it wasn't my fault, but for what it's worth, I'm sorry the party turned out like it did. Things never seem to work out quite like I plan for." He shrugs helplessly, glancing down before reluctantly lifting a hand to wave. "I should let you go feed Hank. Let me know if you need anything?" He doesn't really want to be left without company, but he can't be greedy.

"Mmm. Life's rude that way, yeah," Alison shrugs. "I didn't even think for a moment that it had anything to do with you, really. And... I'd rather it turned out like that and that we got Alex out of there, really," she adds, with a sigh. "But yeah, knowing and knowing aren't the same thing... and I promised Hank food, so off I go. You do see him later, you hear? More food all good. And company will be good too," she grins, shaking her head. "Hank spends way too much time down there, don't you think?"

"He hasn't had much choice but to be down there lately," Shinobi observes, dropping his hand back into his lap with a tired smile. "Go feed him, and.. hm. We can be tricksy. Tell him to come see me when you two are done? I'll be back up in my room by then, I think."

"That sounds like a good plan to me," is the solemn response, as Alison heads towards the door. "And make sure you eat too, mmm?" she can't help but call out over her shoulder, half teasingly, half dead serious.

"I'll eat before I go back to my room, I promise," Shinobi calls after her, quickly adding, "And I still owe you coffee sometime!" before she can get out of earshot. Pursing his lips in thought, he glances between the doorway and the TV a few times before scooping the remote back up, and unpausing his movie. May as well finish it before getting fed and becoming a hermit.

I have these odd images of Alison stuffing Hank into a huge tux to make him help her teach formal dancing, now. Make it stop!

It's likely be less scary if i didn't see him carrying it off with aplomb somehow. ;)

You know, I completely forgot about that until you mentioned it.
