After discovering that the girls and Crystal never arrived home, Amanda and the X-Men start looking for them.

Backdated to December 1st due to massive fail.

A bare few minutes after Jean's phone had rung, the ground rippled slightly off to Kurt's right, before spitting out X-Force's resident witch. She looked pissed off. "Ugh, fucking LA. Tastes like cardboard," she grumbled, possibly a bit obscurely for those who didn't know her mutation.

"I am sure there are cities that taste worse, my sister", Kurt said, amused for a moment despite the situation, then sobered again. "Now, tell us what happened."

"Well, after you lot confirmed it wasn't McPhearson who had them, we did some more digging. I had a feeling it was Nico's folks, but I couldn't get any proof. At least, not until Jubes turned up a video on YouTube. Seems someone was in the ladies bathroom at the time they vanished with a cellphone and caught the whole thing on film from under the toilet door." Amanda snorted. "It's the Minorus all right."

"Ah, family. Who would traumatize us without them?" Tabitha may have been a little bitter. "Do you know what happened from there?"

Jean looked around as the others arrived, about as happy as the others were. As it'd felt like only a short while after the incident with Julian, she was still running on pure adrenaline. She remained quiet for now.
"I did a location spell," Amanda replied. "They know about my powers so they're avoiding cities. Between my spell and what the Trenchcoats have dug up, we're looking at Wyoming."

"That's not very precise, but it's a good start - better than North America." Lex didn't mean to sound bitter, but he'd just saved a boy's life and he was getting tired of having to deal with idiots who chose to kidnap people rather than dealing with their problems face to face. Then again, he didn't want them to take on the students directly either. He'd prefer to deal with hostile forces himself, if he had the choice, especially since his powers seemed to be back under his control.

"Great, Wyoming," Julian sarcastically groaned as he removed the ice pack from his forehead- the overload of his powers had given him quite the headache and made his overall abilities quite unpredictable. "So when do we leave?"

"First things first, Julian. We should have a plan set up, especially against magic wielders," Jean said. The wild card element.

"As I am less familiar with the magical area, Amanda what do you recommend as far as strategy?"
Science, medicine, and the mind were Jean's realm. Magic was not usually equated with those things. It was harder to grasp and one of the instances where she knew it was best to defer to one more knowledgeable.

"We'll need to act as fast as we can - whatever ritual they're planning, it's going to be time-dependant." Amanda ignored the wisecracks. "The Trenchcoats are working on narrowing things down - the Minorus have to do regular sacrifices to keep their demon bogeyman away, so we're looking into any kind of body trail that'll give us a town. They're going to be holed up somewhere they have space and privacy and probably guarded, so we're most likely going to have to charge in. The good thing is, they'll be distracted by the ritual and they won't be expecting us; they're arrogant enough to think they're safe." The witch looked around the group. "The thing about magic is that it needs concentration. Hit them hard, hit them fast, don't let them catch their breaths."

For the first time since they'd left, Tabitha smiled. "I can do distraction," she said cheerfully. "With Kurt's help, I can throw flash-bangs far and wide. Nobody will be able to string three words together, never mind complex mumbo jumbo."

"That I can help with", Kurt said with a nod. "And perhaps kick a few people as I am moving Tabitha around."
"Alright, we have a plan," Julian piped in, "When do we leave?"

"As soon as we can," Amanda said, before raising an eyebrow at Jean. "Um, if that's okay?"

Jean nodded, then smiled reassuringly at the other woman.

"The quicker we act the better. Let's move out."

The sooner they got the girls back, the sooner she would have peace of mind.
Before anyone could move, Amanda's phone beeped insistently and she pulled it out of her jacket pocket. "Life just got easier," she announced with a tight-lipped smile. "We've got a town. Cody, Wyoming."
