Jean-Paul shows up at her window, literally, with a movie.

Jean-Paul hovered outside Vanessa's window - her window, not the office window - and then tapped lightly on it to get her attention. It wasn't really stalkerish if he wasn't enjoying the show and she was fully clothed. Also? A woman.

Most people didn't expect a knock on their second story window at odd hours of the day. Vanessa, however, shot a mild glare at the window. She knew full well who it was on the other side of the glass without having to look. Yawning, the metamorph headed over to the window to undo the lock so the Quebecois outside could get in. "It's bloody fucking cold out, you know. It'd be considerate for you to use doors when it's cold."

"I did not notice so much," Jean-Paul said, rubbing his hands over the top of his head as he put his feet firmly on the floor. "Apologies." Then he grinned. "I saw on the journals, you have a new face. He is very attractive."

"Mmm...innit he, though? James. Andrew, the real guy, is as good as his face." Vanessa was promptly lost to her memory of the man and the will power it took to curtain her desire to strip him down. "I'd say you should meet him except you're taken and I'm fairly certain he's straight. Pity, that man needs someone to love."

"I am not on the market, as you say," Jean-Paul said, nodding. He wasn't entirely sure what he was, anymore, though. That thought had him frowning for just a moment before he wiped the expression off his face and replaced it with a smile. "I have come to provide you with entertainment. I do not know what kind, but I was bored and in the city and so here I am." Holding his arms out from his sides, he raised his eyebrows. "What would you like to do?"

"Nap." The answer came just as she pulled a blanket off the back of the couch and wrapped it around herself. "But if you're playing entertainer then I designate you my personal tap dancer. Now go get something clicky for the bottom of your shoes and get a movin'!"

Pouting, Jean-Paul looked down at his shoes. "I do not want my shoes to click."

Vanessa sighed. "Then how are you going to entertain me?"

Pulling a DVD from the back of his waistband where he'd tucked it for the flight over, Jean-Paul showed it to her. "Horrible acting, of course. These Resident Evil movies with the zombie alien creatures, they are awful. And so amusing for this reason."

"And guaranteed to put me to sleep after the first action scene calms down!" She actually bounced a little where she stood before heading over to the couch. Jean-Paul knew full well that keeping Vanessa awake during a movie was nigh impossible even when she was awake. In her current state of having been up all night doing surveillance she would be asleep on her friend in minutes.

"Oui," Jean-Paul said, smile widening a little. "I thought this is the least I can do, since I am not being so much help with the case currently."

"That's okay, I plan on whoring you out for all and sundry later on," she told him in her most reassuring voice. Vanessa waited for Jean-Paul to pop the disc into the DVD player before picking up the remote. Once she got through the previews and menus the movie was playing and Jean-Paul's lap had been nominated for pillowhood.

"I do not mind this, you know," Jean-Paul said. "Flying all over, it is good for me." He kept his voice low, though, as the credits finished rolling and things started to really get going. It was, from what he could see, as awful as he'd expected. That made him smile.

They make such good friends. Laurie kinda wants to give them both a hug just for being them. :)
