Following this journal entry, Julian and Sarah meet up to catch up and then go play some Goldeneye.

Walking through the hallway towards the library, Sarah Vale started to have second thoughts about agreeing to meet Julian. She hadn't seen him in almost two years, like with most of the other people she remembered from her first stay. It was good to dive right back into things, though, or so she kept telling herself. It's why she came back, after all, to take advantage of the opportunity to be there, so why hide out alone in her room?

Entering the library, she looked around to see if Julian had arrived before her, or if she'd gotten there early.

Julian was sitting at one of the tables, flipping through an old encyclopedia while he awaited Sarah's arrival. It had been a joke meant to provoke a rise in the librarian, but she apparently hadn't noticed the prompt and he didn't actually have any paintball guns to play with. Fortunately, Goldeneye Wii did have a paintball mode- and he hoped she was up to losing time and time again. Granted he held no illusions that she could simply tell the game to make him do things, but he would at least win a couple match-up's first.

Looking around, she spied him sitting at a table. Sarah had blanked on the paintball gun reference herself at first until she remembered the game mode, so the librarian could be forgiven for not getting it, if she'd even read it. She walked over to the table, standing across from Julian and giving him a little wave to catch his attention. "Heya." Not a great conversationalist, this one.

Without looking up, Julian flipped a page, "Welcome back, Vale. Couldn't keep away from me, hmmm? Can't say as I blame you." The young man looked up and smirked, "How've you been doing?"

She rolled her eyes at that, knowing he was joking of course but it didn't much help with the awkwardness. "Whatever." She smiled back at him once he finally looked back up. "Alright, I guess. Same old, same old, mostly. Getting unpacked and settled in, that kind of thing." Sarah shrugged, not sure what else to add. "What about you, what's new with you?"

"I'm not disowned anymore, so...that's new. Oh, and I'm on the team as a trainee, though we'll see how long that lasts," he set down the book. "Mind if I ask why you're back? I mean, you seemed pretty pumped to get the hell out of here and back to your family in DC."

"Oh, well, grats on that. Both the being owned again and the trainee status, I'm sure you'll be fine." That sounded so daunting to her but she was sure Julian would have a much better handle on that kind of thing than she ever would. Sarah shrugged at the question. "I was happy to get back to my sister and family, yeah. But... it may sound silly, but I had a good talk with my Nana about things and, well." That probably didn't explain very much at all, whoops. "About potential and that kinda thing." She added, which still wasn't giving him all that much more detail.

A moment of silence passed between then, Julian expecting something more. Eventually, he shrugged, "Alright, well, good to have you back." The young man stood up, floating the book onto the shelving cart as he gestured toward the doorway. "So how about that Goldeneye? Hope you don't mind if we just use the Wii in the rec lounge instead of re-enacting it in here."

"Thanks, it's good to be here again." This time she was going to make it work, goshdarnit. Sarah watched him reshelf the book with his powers, her eyes getting a little bigger at the display of his abilities. It was nothing for Julian but it still blew her mind a little, to see him and the others doing their thing. "Oh, sure, that's fine by me. Besides, looks like someone didn't bring the paintball guns so we can't anyway." She grinned a little at that, what a sight that'd make for any passersby.

"Miss Smith would kill me," he said with a smirk, "I'm already on her shit list from misuse of the study rooms." Julian followed her down the hallway toward the rec room. "So no strange developments on your powers then?"

"How can you misuse a study room?" Sarah asked, though immediately after having done so she wasn't sure if she wanted to know the answer, but it was too late then. She lead the way to the rec room, hoping she was heading in the right direction. "Nah, they still work the same. I think I've gotten better with them on my laptop and stuff, but other than that they're about the same, I think."

Julian ignored the first question, "Have you and the toaster reconciled your differences yet then?"

Sarah didn't bother to ask again, especially once the evil toaster's name came up. She sighed at it, shaking her head. "Not yet, I'm afraid. I think it's best if we just go our separate ways. Toast is overrated anyway." She nodded, cereal would be a much better breakfast choice for her anyway.

"Have you met Doctor McCoy's new coffee maker thing yet?" Julian turned on the Wii and picked up a Wii-mote. "You know, I think your Mii is still on here."

"Hmm, don't think that I have, not yet anyway. Kinda been avoiding the kitchen in general." Which sounded kinda lame but, well, she didn't want to get off on the wrong foot here right off the bat. Sarah picked up the other Wii-mote, sliding her hand through the strap and tightening it. "Oh, no way, really?" She started looking through the list for it, that was kind of awesome.

"The coffee maker talks...it has some sort of AI I think," Julian let her search her Mii out on the plaza, something familiar from her last stay would be good- things had changed so much since she was last here.

She raised her eyebrows at that. "Oh really? Huh." Maybe that'd make it easier for her to interact with it then, if it already had the capacity to communicate with anyone. Sarah figured that'd be interesting to try, perhaps. Maybe one day. For now, though, she let her eyes wander about the Mii plaza... "Aha, you're right, there I am!" She moved her cursor to select her digital self, smiling at the sight. It's the little things, totally.

"Ready to get pwned?" Julian said with a smile.

"Haha, ready to see you try, yup." It was on now!
