Kurt's practicing on the uneven bars and Wade stops in to watch. Introductions are had.

Kurt swung down from the trapeze bar, anchored only by his tail and one foot, let go, and proceeded to do a backwards flip in mid-air, ending with him back on the bar in a handstand.

If he'd been aware of anyone watching, it might have been considered showing off, but this was just practice. Really.

Wade tipped his head to the side. "Damn. That prehensile tail comes in really freaking handy, doesn't it?"

"It does", Kurt agreed cheerfully after a moment's startled silence, perching easily on the bar to look down. "As does the flexible back."

There were many, many things Wade might have said to that comment - none of them lacking innuendo. Rather than go there, though, he grinned. "I'll just bet it does. Never tried gymnastics, myself. I'd probably suck at 'em."

"Very few people really do, with practice", Kurt assured him. "I do have to admit, training since childhood and my mutations probably make it seem easier than it is."

Wade had a brief image of himself flailing from one uneven bar to the other and faceplanting when he missed. He kind of chuckled at the mental image and shook his head. "I'm too old to start trying to learn things like that. I'll stick with my meditation and running. I'm Wade, by the way."

"Kurt Sefton." He teleported to the ground, considerately a few dozen feet away from the other man, and walked over to offer a hand. "I am sorry I did not introduce myself on the journals. Pleased to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, Kurt Sefton." Wade was going to have to come up with a nickname for him. That much was obvious. It was just a matter of deciding what that nickname was going to be. "So, you've got the gymnastics mutation, the physical stuff, and... you can get from one place to another really fast. Sweet."

"I certainly consider myself lucky as mutations go", he said with a smile. "The teleportation is limited in range, I cannot cross oceans as our former resident Clarice can, but it is enough for me."

Limited range teleportation... Wade tried not to think about how useful that'd be on a job. Any job. The physical aspects of Kurt's mutation would lend themselves to being easily identifiable, but only if someone saw him and lived. Oh, the possibilities - the mercenary tried (again) not to think of them. "Well, I've just got the healing factor thing, like I said on the journals. And a couple things that go along with it. Beyond that, I'm just me."

"A powerful healing factor is not such a minor thing", Kurt noted casually. "I think you will find Kyle envies you yours - he has certainly wished his was stronger in the past. But then, beyond our mutations, we are all just us."

Wade kept the smile in place. Nobody really needed to know about how gimpy his healing factor tended to be, after all. "Couldn't agree more." He lifted his chin a little to indicate the bars the other man had come down from and asked, "What else can you do?"

"In terms of powers, you have heard it all. In terms of acrobatics..." He grinned, not trying to hide his pride and joy in it. "Many things. I have never tried, but I am fairly sure I could outcompete Olympic gymnasts."

Chuckling, Wade nodded. "I can see that." Then he tipped his head toward the weight room. "I'm gonna go use the treadmill, but it was good meeting you, Kurt Sefton."

"Likewise. I am sure I will see you around very soon."
