Laura drops by Marius' suite, and the night takes a turn for Sexy. And then right back into Un-Sexy.

Marius lined his shoes neatly near the door before proceeding to the couch, still pleasantly buzzed from the club and somewhat thankful he was in the United States. Back home this time of night and level of intoxication would have meant he'd already be halfway through a 7-Eleven pie, which, like many actions committed whilst intoxicated, rarely went unregretted the next day.

Yawning, the tall Australian grabbed the remote and flipped to the general area of ESPN with the vague hope one of its eight thousand affiliates would be showing a classic football match. Still surfing, he sprawled on the couch and rubbed his eyes in the glow of the television. Sleep was, of course, inevitable, but at the moment mindless entertainment held far more interest to him than the complex tasks he would have to face in preparation, such as unbuttoning his shirt.

Laura was having a particularly boring night when something filled the air. It smelled good, almost too good to be true. Moments later she was seriously fighting some weird need to jump at the nearest male. The alternative, while not completely discarded, paled in comparison to how good she would feel if she could drag a man to her bed. Or place herself in someone else's bed; that worked too. After a minute of sitting in her bed completely unmoving, she decided that maybe a walk would do her good. Or she could find someone as horny as she was now. Her inner monologue was starting to lose its finesse.

After little walking she caught the scent of Marius. Funny though, the usual smell the screamed 'woman' wasn't attached to it. Then again, if the man could be called a manslut...she could be called the same, without the man part. Why weren't they closer? Maybe because he was sort of creepy, but now she didn't mind. So Laura went her way towards his room, her head suddenly popping on the edge as she peeked inside. "Dude, you awake?"

"Eh? Oh, Laura." This was unexpected, particularly because Marius could recall engaging her in no more than perhaps two conversations, none of them longer than three minutes. Still, he was hardly had anything more interesting to do. He lolled back his head and gave the girl a lazy wave with the remote. "Yes, regrettably I am conscious, though happily not yet sober enough to mind. Somethin' up?"

Laura grinned, and walked towards the man, her mind hazy and not particularly making any sense. She, however, still had an inch of self control, and instead of sitting over him -a perfectly reasonable ideal, she thought- Laura just sat on the floor, her back against the couch, and stared at the television. "I miss the days I could get trashed, although it always took some effort for me. Now it just doesn't take me anywhere to drink." Looking up at him, she gave him a little smile. "Not much, really. Slow night outside too?"

"A bit." Marius glanced down at the girl and found his gaze lingering on her legs. Laura had good ones, and the concealment offered by her shorts was not generous. He shifted slightly and returned his gaze to the screen. "Alas, even alcohol could not dull the pain of house music. Adaptable though I am, I've no idea how anyone dances to it, and from the looks of it nor did anyone else."

"You have to dance like you don't care", said as she lifted her arms and moved her legs, obviously showing him how it was done. Or at least how she would do it if she were on her feet. "Lucky you, still susceptible to the wiles of booze. I need to drink the medical stuff to get dizzy." And those gave terrible headaches the next morning, anyway. Only then she felt his gaze on her, and gave Marius a small grin as she slowly turned her head towards the television. "And the girls? None good enough to stand the music?"

"I will endure much for love. Even that which lasts a mere fifteen minutes. House music is not one of these things." Marius found himself having trouble ignoring the view presented by Laura's back. Impulsively, he got to his feet and stretched his arms above his head.

"However," he said, crossing his arms in a speculative manner, "never let it be said I am not willing to learn from a qualified teacher. Care to show me your moves, mistress?"

Oh, he was- and then he stood- What was he asking for? While she was a flirt to almost every male she knew, Laura could also keep her boundaries; she wasn't trying to seduce the older ones, for example, and also knew that some people just liked their privacy. She wasn't aware of what was the situation with Marius, but he was...a private person, in a way. Standing up, she decided to test those boundaries, wondering how far she could push and how much she could win. And she wanted to win.

"Weeeeeeeeeeell", said as she stalked towards him, eyes shining with a little feral light as she closed the distance. Turning around, she stood inches as way from him as she started to dance slowly, body moving and twisting slowly as she closed her eyes for a moment, before looking back to him as she raised a hand towards his chin. "It mostly depends on the music itself, and where you want to go with the dancing."

He smiled. "The music is never a guarantee. But, and I am not ashamed to admit it, it is safe to assume I want the dance to go precisely where the male stereotype would lead you to believe." Marius tried to remember how long had it been since his room had last seen a female resident. Probably not since Jennie had left -- a departure which had also resulted in a marked decline of flirty banter.

Ignoring the prickle triggered by Laura's proximity, Marius took her outstretched hand by the fingers and wound the girl into a twirl until her back was to him and their arms across her body, being careful to allow the option of daylight between their bodies. At the last minute he reminded himself they weren't that familiar.

"Not that I am a complete stranger to romance," he continued, his breath stirring her hair. "After all, one must have a backup plan."

Laura did the little spin with a laugh, and didn't let go of Marius hand by the end of it, as if she wouldn't take that chance. Listening with a crooked smile over her shoulder, she used Marius hand to give herself another swirl, this time ending with them facing as she placed his hand on the small of her back. She had nullified whatever personal space Marius had had now, and she was lightly pressing herself against him. "Then again, romance tends to be sooooo overrated", purred as she used her free hand to toy with the upper buttons of his shirt. "Sometimes the dance is just the excuse two people need to say something else."

The contact of her body was only slightly short of electric, and this close Marius could see the pupils of her brown eyes were incredibly dilated. His desire to better know Laura instantly acquired biblical connotations.

"One particular thing, at any rate," he said, drawing his hand down her back and distantly aware his body had gone into autopilot. However, it was taking him to interesting places and he was finding it difficult to argue.

And Laura liked where that hand was going. She was sneaking a hand under his shirt slowly too, a little playful smile on her face. "Because sometimes..." And the other hand was now playing with the upper button on Marius' shirt. "Well, sometimes you can save the romance for the, how to put it." The button was now free, and Laura's hand moved to the next one as her other hand poked his bellybutton. "The after party." She couldn't be pressing her body against him without obstructing her movements now.

Laura didn't get a chance to undo any more buttons; with a sharp tightening of his arm Marius drew her into a fierce kiss. Yes, it was his policy to avoid entanglements with other residents, and yes, his more general policy to avoid entanglements with mutants of any sort, but the reasons had slipped his mind, not unlike how his hand was slipping under her shirt and up her ribcage. He could feel strands of her long hair caught by the corner of her mouth.

The girl's hand under his shirt went all the way up to his chest in one fluid motion, nails pressing softly as she gave in completely into the kiss, answering fiercely as she started to moan on a somewhat shameless fashion. She didn't care. The hand that was toying with his buttons had moved down in a rush, blindly trying to work his pants out; if she kept failing at it due to the intense kissing -and did they just hit the wall? She wasn't sure anymore- Laura was going to rip the damn piece of cloth out of him.

Marius was too absorbed by the flesh already exposed to pay attention to where her hand was going. Something in her moan tensed his muscles, and his movements became shorter, more violent. He pressed her hard against the wall until the hand at his belt was trapped between them. As Laura writhed his fingers clenched at where they found bare skin; skin scraped beneath his nails.

He was just starting to register something was off when he sank his teeth into her bottom lip, hard.

Pleasure, pleasure, pleasure, then pain, then pleasure. Laura was more or less aware Marius had changed in some way; he was holding her hand away, and he had...bitten her? And yet it felt good. Pain felt good in its own sick way. She somehow managed to move her head away before he bit her lip again, and as it healed she darted him a furtive smile, tongue rolling over her lips as she savored the blood. The edges of her vision were starting to tint in red, and before she was capable of stopping herself, Laura was bitting him right next to his shoulder, her free hand overpowering him as she rolled so Marius was the one with his back on the wall; she perhaps was a little rough on that but she didn't care. Wrestling to free her other hand, she tried to keep her body as close as the man's. She was certainly not thinking anymore.

He snapped around at the pain at his shoulder and before he realized what he was doing Marius found his teeth sinking into the exposed nape of Laura's neck. Through the hair in his mouth he tasted blood. He jerked away so quickly his head banged against the wall. A dark little part of his brain whispered that Laura had a healing factor, she could heal whatever damage he could do -- and then clarity returned, and with it instinctive revulsion at the urge to tear into her, to do . . . harm.

Abruptly, Marius shoved the girl away.

Hooooookay, that one really hurt.

It was a good thing that Marius had pulled away, because a second later and Laura's claws would have lodged themselves on his ribcage. Growling like a hurt animal, Laura skidded a little against the wall, one hand rubbing her neck. Clarity returned to her, too. "...Owies." One second they were really getting at it, the next they were biting each other? Ew.

"Okay, Marius? That was intense, but try not to bite me behind the fucking neck next time."

"Right, sorry, I was a bit, ah . . ." Marius' mouth had salved many awkward moments, but in this case it seemed to have decided he deserved whatever he got. The only excuses it was offering him were lame ones. However, since the sexual tension in the room seemed stalled rather than abated, he decided to take what he could get. Lame it was.

Marius started to back up, one hand groping behind him. "Actually, before we, er -- let me just -- you know, get somethin' from the washroom--" His questing hand, which he now noticed was twitching, finally found the doorknob. Without another word, Marius darted into the bathroom and closed the door behind him.

Stalled, but not appalled; Laura had no plans to stop, biting or not involved. She frowned at his sudden evasiveness, and reacted a second too late when he locked himself on the bathroom- because he totally did that. "...Marius?", asked as she tried to force the thing open without breaking it, claws long gone. "...hey?"

Marius cursed inwardly. He'd hoped he would have more time before she'd discovered his cunning ploy, i.e., latching the door. Not that there were many alternatives; he wasn't sure he could explain what was going on, and even less sure he could do it if Laura managed to re-initiate physical contact. Alternatives were few, and getting fewer by the moment.

And so, in what he was certain would fall under the category of "good idea at the time" even as he did so, Marius slid aside the pane and jumped out the bathroom window.
