Don't Close Your Eyes: Deception
Jul. 1st, 2011 01:28 pmKurt teleports into the Box at the Mansion and finds Professor Xavier there. But all is not as it seems.
Kurt had never thought he'd have a reason to be inside the Box, until now. Luckily, though, he knew the dimensions of the room and there was nothing unusual about its shape, so he was able to pop in with no trouble. It took him seconds to spot the Professor and make straight for the disoriented-looking man.
"Professor Xavier? It will be all right now."
As though his head was too heavy for his body, Charles slowly looked up at the other man and stared at him without really comprehending. "... Kurt?" he asked, trying to push himself up into a sitting position. "It is far too dangerous ..."
"We will be out of here in a moment", Kurt assured him. "And when you feel better, we can discuss the next step." He leaned down with no further delay, intending to pull the older man securely into his arms for a teleport.
Reaching up, Charles patted him awkwardly on the shoulder as Kurt moved to take him in his arms for a teleportation. "I should apologize," he said, raising himself off the floor with the other arm. The hand on his shoulder moved sideways, plunging something sharp into the side of Kurt's neck.
Kurt jerked sideways, dropping the Professor again in his shock, but it was too late for him to do anything more than that, even disappear. The drug was fast-acting.
The last thing he saw was the Professor, but not lying dazed at his feet... completely unconscious, in the corner ten feet away.
The 'Professor' in the middle of the room slowly stood up on his feet and frowned down at the blue mutant sprawled on the ground.
With a full body shake, the image of one man disappeared as the Straw Man showed his true face.
"I guess sorry isn't going to cut it this time," he muttered, reaching for Kurt. Time to put him somewhere ... 'safe'.
