Wade stops by to see if Kurt's up for some instructional swashbuckling.
Kurt hadn't been expecting a visitor, but at least he was decent when the knock came at his door. Hitting 'pause' on the DVD remote, he got up willingly enough and padded barefoot to the door.
Wade pasted on a winning smile as Kurt opened the door. "Hi! So..." But he trailed off as he tilted forward and to the side a little, peeking around Kurt to look at the television screen. "Hey! Against All Flags. My mom loved Errol Flynn." Looking back at Kurt, he blinked for a second, then chuckled. "So you're watching a movie about swashbuckling and avasting and I've come to ask you if you'd be interested in teaching Molly to swashbuckle and avast. It seems kind of fitting."
That got a curious headtilt. "I do enjoy swashbuckling and... avasting... at appropriate times. Molly wants to be a pirate?"
"Molly wants a sword," Wade corrected, grinning. "And I figure it'd be a really good idea for her to know how to use a sword before I give her one, right? Only I don't know how to use one beyond 'pointy end goes in the other guy,' so I thought I'd seek out the help of someone who's better at it than me."
"Well, yes." Kurt grinned back. "While "pointy end goes in the other guy" is rather the point in real combat, I think I will be starting Molly with sport fencing. Of course I will teach her."
"Sweet - she is gonna be so excited. Do you guys have stuff for fencing here or will she need like, a miniature fencing... sword... thing?" Wade really, really didn't get fencing, to be honest. If you were going to flail around with a sword, you might as well make it be a sword that would actually do some damage and you ought to be doing damage while you were flailing.
"We do have some equipment, but Molly is very small", Kurt said thoughtfully. "I will look into getting her something that suits her height and weight."
Wade nodded. "Let me know if I can help at all with that." He paused, considered his options, and then asked, "If I order pizza, can I watch the rest of Against All Flags? I swear I'll only talk in my head and not out loud."
Kurt blinked, then started to laugh. "That seems a fair trade to me."
Pulling his phone from his pocket, Wade hit the speed dial for the local pizza place and asked, "What do you want on it?"
"Mushrooms", was the instant response. "Plenty of mushrooms."
"You got it," Wade said, turning his attention to the person who'd answered the phone. It looked like the evening was shaping up to be a good one.
