The assembled team works on a plan to rescue Vanessa.

Everyone had been hoping to find Vanessa but whether or not they had expected to was a different story altogether. Not only had she been found but there were good odds she was still alive. But for how long? The bandages weren't particularly reassuring nor was her being pushed around in a wheelchair. Doug's glimpse had been too brief to confirm just about anything short of her existence in that building. It was something, though. It was proof, and that they hadn't had since she has disappeared. Now the pairs were trickling into the safe house, most of whom only knew they had found something out but not what it was.

It took a lot of effort for Lex to maintain his composure as people came in. They were wasting time while they waited for everyone to come in and he didn't know how long Vanessa would remain alive - it was driving him mad. Once everyone was in the room he held up his hand for silence. "We found her. It was brief, but Doug was able to spot her on the cameras in the building where we snatched the guard. She didn't look good, but she was still alive." He was trying to remain calm, but he was on the edge of losing it.

"She's still alive?" Warren's attention snapped in at that point - or at least more so than it had been. He'd hoped, of course he had. But this was confirmation. He'd been seated, but he somehow found himself on his feet, ready to - what? He wasn't thinking that clearly right now.

"She's definitely alive?"

The tension buzzing around the room and leaking out from behind Jean's mental shields was almost starting to give her a headache. As soon as Warren stood, Jean was there, a hand on his shoulder. "If Doug says so, I believe him," Jean said.

"And I know we all want to get in there and get her out but jumping the gun will do no one any good, especially Vanessa. If her captors know we're around we must proceed with the possibility that they might kill her rather than let us get to her. When I got close to the building I immediately felt something block my telepathy. It seemed to extend to not even being able to sense the people I knew were around. So we must assume they are ready for mutants other than Vanessa. We need a plan. And we also need to have a clear head about it. We cannot let our emotions get the better of us," Jean said, her eyes flickering between Warren and Lex.

"Well, I might be a bit useful, then," Wanda said, grunting slightly as she turned over that knowledge in her head. "Telepathy and chaos powers rarely interact well; when my powers are on, even Charles has a hard time getting through the field that it projects. Perhaps we can use this to our advantage? If what's blocking Jean is something mechanical, perhaps not, but if it is an actual mutant, I am willing to bet I can sneak in under their radar."

"You probably can and my telepathy's pretty near non-functional so they maybe won't find that the way they do Jean's. Besides, I'm mostly here for muscle," Monet said and put down her nail file. "How much damage are we going to do on the way in? And on the way out? I want to cripple these people if we can."

"Hm, even if I really want to trash that place, it's no good in enter with guns blazing and put down everything that moves. We need to be careful on this one." She was ready to do whatever it took though. "And if whatever is blocking Ms. Grey can't be defused easily, we'll have to get in there and personally wreck it, which is fine too." But they needed to be careful and calm, even if the situation was calling for the contrary.

"They're holding numerous mutants, likely all for experimentation. We don't have the resources to do something for all of them right now and we have to keep our eyes on the prize. I plan to follow up from X-Factor so we can distribute information to local and sympathetic governments. If that doesn't work, there are mutant groups that would be willing to make a personal visit, I'm sure." Bishop offered cryptically at the end. He wanted to help keep the group very focused on the current task and that meant at least sounding like he had a plan for any worries people might have had.

Doug's eyes narrowed thoughtfully at Bishop, but he shook his head and turned back to the task at hand. "All right, here's what I have on the internal security," he addressed the group, pushing his laptop to where all present could see it. "It's not as complete as I'd like, but some information is better than going in completely blind." He pointed out camera locations, and what he'd been able to piece together of patrol routes, and the group began to plan how they were going to get in and retrieve Vanessa.
