Korvus and Wade finish tuning up the last of the cars in the garage and make plans for next weekend.

Wade half-grinned as he wiped his hands off on a rag. It hadn't really been intentional, but he'd found himself in the garage for the last couple Sundays and Korvus just happened to be there at the same time, which led to them tuning up various vehicles and discussing other things that they might be able to do - Wade was now seriously considering purchasing a heap of rust so they could fix it up. "I think we've done... most of the cars in here, kid. How do you feel about restoring something from scratch?"

"That will be an expensive endeavor in parts." Korvus pushed himself out from under the car, the wheels of the board under him clicking softly against the concrete. "I believe I will save cost in tool rentals, however. I can lift most engines myself."

"Sweet," Wade said, already running through the possibilities. "We should visit a car graveyard to pick one. I'm thinking an Impala, maybe. Or a Chevelle. Oh, hey - how about a Mustang Fastback?" The possibilities were pretty much endless, really. "I mean, depends on what they've got at the graveyard." Tossing Korvus the rag, to use, Wade leaned back against the car they'd just finished tuning up and pondering things for a moment. "Alternately... hm. Okay, so there's this show called Sons of Guns..."

"An Impala has more room to work and an impressive engine." Korvus offered as he caught the rag and wiped his hands. "I have seen it. I have an affinity for historical documentary 'reality' shows for the information provided. What is it that you wish to build from that program?"

"Impala it is," Wade said, nodding. He'd ask the same guy he got the Beetle from. "And the show I mentioned, it's about gun modification and such." He eyed the kid - he had talent when it came to mechanics, that was obvious after the time they'd spent in the garage. That aside, though, he wasn't sure gun modification was something he should get a student involved in, necessarily. He wondered if he was going to get a telepathic summons from the Professor - but as long as they were careful, took the necessary precautions. "Do you have any experience with firearms?"

"I do. I have worked on heavy munitions rather than personal firearms. The skills are similar, I have no doubt." Korvus stood and set the rag down on a tool box. "I am not familiar with custom loading ammunition, however. You should buy that directly from a standard manufacturer."

Wade gave Korvus a fond sort of smile. "Don't worry about where I'm getting my custom ammunition from, kid. Let's just see if we can't modify some rifles or something - we're gonna need to set up shop somewhere away from everybody else. The shooting range might work. I'm gonna double check with the Professor before we get started on this, though. It's the kind of thing that could actually blow up in our faces. And we wouldn't want anyone else getting caught in that kind of mess."

"What particularly are you wishing to build?" Korvus asked again. He wasn't comfortable with the idea of building something intended to kill. There was an argument to be made for killing in self defense but he thought that was very rare. "As a swordsman it may be hypocritical but building a firearm for use outside of sport or self defense would not be desirable."

To go into the specifics or not to go into the specifics - that was the question. In the end, Wade shrugged and said, "Realistically speaking, flashy mods on a rifle aren't going to do you much good in the field. So whatever we do, it won't actually be used for any killing. I can give you my word on that." He had plenty of high grade rifles and handguns for that sort of thing, if it came down to it. "Now what's this about you being a swordsman?"

"My tutoring began at four and included many cultural studies, one of which is Kalari Payat. It is the first martial and I am technically Panikkar Korvus Rook'shir for I am a Gurukkal. I enjoy a similar status in Yoga." Korvus explained as he moved across the garage to his water bottle. "My family has a mythical affinity with the Khanda which I was expected to maintain because of the relationship we claim with Parashurama and so Vishnu."

Wade didn't respond immediately, since he was working on parsing the language. "So you're a guru in your martial art as well as yoga?" That was about what he was taking from that whole thing. It was always fun, learning new things about different cultures - this wasn't as bad as when he'd shipped himself to Japan for that one job. And look how well that had turned out.

Korvus nodded, "I am sorry I was not clear. A Yogi teaches professionally, a Guru is simply one who is an expert."

"Right, so you're a guru in yoga? You don't actually teach it, you're just really good at it?"

"And Kalari Payat... and full body oil massage by extension. It is a tradition in Northern Kalari Payat." Korvus offered the information helpfully.

If Wade had been feeling more juvenile, he might have actually smacked his palm against his forehead. As it was, he just turned his eyes skyward for a moment and pointedly didn't warn Korvus about practicing his guru body massages on Meggan. Benevolent sexism and all that. "Awesome," he said, nodding. "Let's clean up and get some food." He'd already had lunch, but he could use another round of sustenance.

Korvus nodded, taking his water bottle with him as they left the garage. "Would you like to try Paneer?"

"Sure," Wade said, always willing to give something a try. He was pretty sure he'd had it before, actually, but that was neither here nor there. Maybe Korvus' would be different or something - and Wade had a well-established policy of always trying things twice before deciding he wouldn't try them again.

After setting up some pots, Korvus dug in the fridge for a little dish he had prepared earlier. "I have been educating myself on Indian cooking since I am now a transplant. It is my understanding that being able to prepare a meal is looked upon favorably by American women."

"That's true," Wade said, nodding seriously. "Especially the ones who can't cook. It's like you're providing for them or something. I think it hits a subconscious nerve or something from back in the day when everybody was a hunter and a gatherer."

"I have read studies suggesting that money may provide a reaction like that in some women." Korvus mused as he got the stove going. "I attribute it more to cultural bias. In some place wealth is not so important, I hope."

"It's an indicator of security, I think," Wade said, shrugging. "But I don't think all women everywhere prioritize like that."

"I am sure they do not." Korvus agreed. "We are all varied individuals and, when my family was affluent, I was single. I am now 'dating' someone; though I am unclear as to how I would specify that status it is certainly independent of my financial status."

"You and Meggan are an official item now?" Wade felt like the clarification was warranted.

"I do not know." Korvus admitted. "In a political family like mine was, a relationship would have been arranged."

Wade mulled that over for a few moments before shrugging. "Well, since once can't be arranged, I guess you're just going to have to take care of things yourself. You like Meggan, right?"

"I do. She is attentive and sensitive." Korvus began adding spices to the dish. He didn't seem to be taking into account that he may be more tolerant of heat than Wade. "She is very nice and she is also attractive."

"Does she think you two are dating? Has she said it explicitly?" Wade wasn't bothered by spicy food, as such. He actually enjoyed it, so he wasn't worried about what Korvus was putting in the food. "Or asked for confirmation from you? I find it's usually a good idea to make sure you're both on the same page about what's going on. Assumptions are bad."

"She has not said anything on the topic." Korvus looked from the food to Wade. "I am not sure a label would be necessary at the moment. We have gone on a date. Dating is an acceptable casual term to be used while expressing my thoughts on her in your company, I believe."

"You might want to specify... well, casual dating, as opposed to serious dating. For instance, I'm dating Marie-Ange. Have been for months. The word can be used to imply long-term relationships as well as shorter ones," Wade said. "Which is why I was asking for clarification."

"I would ask Meggan for clarification but requesting an examination may change it by virtue of being seen." Korvus thought for a moment, then turned back to the food. "If it comes up organically, I'll let you know what she says."

"Good plan," Wade said, nodding.
