Korvus and Wade go looking for a '67 Impala to restore.

"That's the correct frame." Korvus motioned as they walked the isles of the junk yard. The pair had seen several Impalas but they had frame problems that would be more trouble than it would be worth so far.

The car Korvus had indicated was a bucket of rust and a half, but that was pretty much what they were looking for, so he nodded and went over to take a closer look. "Once upon a time," he said, sticking his head inside the broken driver's side window, "There was an ugly old Impala and all the other cars made fun of her. But then two awesome dudes came along and recognized all her potential..." And there was potential there.

"I have always imagined a classic Impala as a very traditionally masculine car." Korvus observed as he laid back on the ground before sliding under it. "It is also foreboding. The trunk can easily fit a person."

"Don't think about fitting bodies in places," Wade said, though he'd sort of been thinking the same thing himself. "Think about all the cool other stuff you could fit back there. Like... gear. For things. Hiking. Ice climbing. Camping. Fishing. Food. You could fit a ton of food back there. And this little lady here is definitely a she. Hm..." He considered her, walking around to lift the hood. "Betty. I think that's what I'm going to name her. Or Blanche. Maybe Blanche."

Applying pressure to different points, Korvus pushed the car up from it's wheels a few times to check it's structure. "Those are not good names." He observed. "I never understood the humanizing of machines."

Ducking down enough to look beneath the car, Wade pointed a finger at Korvus. "Those are excellent names, don't malign them. Also, it shows our affection for the things we name. Or something. What would you name her?"

Korvus wiggled out from under the car and sat up. "I would not. Objects should have nonsexual titles such as 'Black Beauty.'"

Wade wrinkled his nose. "What, like the horse?"

"The Green Hornet's car." Korvus stood and rested his hand on the car. "This can be salvaged."

Shaking his head, Wade stood up and brushed his hands off. "We'll take her, then - and I'm not stealing a fictitious superhero's name for his car. We'll go with Blanche."

"I was only offering an example." Korvus nodded when Wade made the decision. "I will look it over more thoroughly and begin a parts list once it has been delivered to the garage."

"Well, I think we should get her prettied up before we actually name her, anyway," Wade said, nodding. "Let's go make arrangements with the guy at the gate and then we can get lunch or something, if you want."

"Agreed." Korvus moved alongside Wade so they could go to the gate. "I would like to try a Mexican restaurant, if that is acceptable."

"Sure, I know this great place in the city - a friend introduced me to it," Wade said, nodding as they walked toward the gate and the man who'd let them into the junkyard. "I think you'll like it."
