Jean-Paul meets Angelo in District X so he can witness a new and fascinating aspect of Angelo's mutation.

Angelo had continued to be mysterious all through the making of arrangements, refusing to explain to Jean-Paul even more privately what he was talking about, or why he'd insisted on meeting in an empty lot in District X.

He was grinning like a little boy as he saw the older man arriving, though.

Jean-Paul was, quite naturally, suspicious of that smile as he touched down in the empty lot Angelo had specified. "Bonjour," he said, eyes narrowed just a little as he approached his friend.

"Stop looking at me like that!" he protested. "This isn't even a prank, or I'd've aimed it at you in person. It's just awesome."

"So you say," Jean-Paul replied, lips quirking upward just a little. "Now, what is this so secret thing you have found you are able to do?" He was tired, a headache throbbing behind his eyes, but the day was right and Angelo was so enthusiastic about whatever this was, it was difficult not to let some of that enthusiasm seep into him.

The grin somehow found room to widen, though sharp eyes were studying Jean-Paul's face at the same time, taking note of what they saw. "This. Watch." His shoes were promptly kicked off to one side, leaving bare feet, which suddenly seemed to acquire natural lifts several feet high.

Jean-Paul blinked. That was different. "Huh."

"And that's not the last", Angelo said gleefully. "I was talkin' to Yvette the other day, the space mission came up, and I got to thinkin'... I made a guy bounce off my chest when he tried to stomp me. So why shouldn't I be able to use that other ways?" And he proceeded to demonstrate that he could, quite effectively.

Laughing, Jean-Paul shook his head. "Mon Dieu, so now you can bounce - have you found how high it is possible for you to go?"

"Not yet!" he said, still bouncing. "I figure it'd be higher the more I try. I can glide, I can bounce, I've got the best mutation ever."

Flying up so he was at least a little more on level with Angelo's head as he went up and then back down, Jean-Paul shook his head, still chuckling. "Oui - and so let us see how high you can go if you try. Does this tire you?"

"Not really." He shrugged. "Maybe if I kept it up for hours. It's like the way jumping with springs on your feet would tire you."

"Only... your springs are made of your own skin," Jean-Paul said, head tipping to the side. Then he smiled. "Angelo, mon ami, I think I am very impressed. Have you thought of ways to use this new ability of yours practically, or are you still simply having fun with it?" Because really, the younger man seemed to be having an immense amount of fun just bouncing up and down for the moment.

"So far just fun." He beamed. "I've never been this tall before. I always knew my powers were versatile but I love finding new stuff I can do."

Laughing again, Jean-Paul nodded. "I can see this - I am sure there are many things you can use this for, especially with practice. Though it looks as though you might enjoy it purely for the fun you are having."

"And I didn't even have to get pushed off a roof to find it. Don't ask."
