Backdated to the day Lorna arrives at the airport. Remy picks up Lorna from the airport after she returns from her time in Muir Island.

He supposed that other people could have picked her up. After all, Remy didn't even own a car. But, it had been a simple enough decision to rent one and slide out to the airport. It would surprise people who knew their history, but despite their ups and downs, there was no way that Remy wasn't going to come and collect her after months on the West Coast. Between the job and his own injuries and events, he hadn't heard anything of how Lorna was doing, and it was a combination of concern and protectiveness that pushed him out here. The man at the coffee stand kept trying to upsell him on some sort of faux-Italian blend, and only a pointed look had finally driven him away, leaving Remy to sip his coffee and watch the arrivals gate as people spilled out.

The flight was long and boring. Happy that she had remembered to charge her ipod before leaving or else she would be forced to watch the on board movie, or listen to the baby cry a couple of seats back. It wasn't that Lorna didn't like flying, she was used to it. It was just she was anxious of her own return. It has been a long year and dealing with her own personal demons. Rubbing her shoulder as she exited the plane towards the gate, shifting her carry-on bag to her other arm. The tunnel ended and she walked out from the gate. She was told someone she knew was going to pick her up, but the call was cut off before they would tell her who.

Stepping aside so she was obstruction traffic of human bodies, Lorna's green eyes scanned the crowd until they reached a certain Cajun, the last person she thought she would be seeing right now. She started to make her way towards Remy. What was she going to say to him? "Allo." Saying when she was within earshot of the man. "Good to see you again Remy."

"Salut Lorna." He finished off the cup and left it on the counter. "Seem like you flight was on time, for once." He said, making small talk as she reached him. He wasn't entirely sure how long Lorna was staying - was it a visit or more? It hadn't been entirely clear, and left him speculating whether or not the time had made her control over her issues better or worse.

"Must be my lucky day." She stopped in front of him, shifting her bag again. "I have other luggage that will be at the claim." Meaning she had quite a few things. Lorna only brought what she needed this time but still it was quite a few pieces. "This way" She nodded in the direction of where the luggage claim was located at and started to walk in that direction. It would be kind of hard to lose a green haired woman in this crowd. She looked much healthier, than she had been at the beginning of the year.

"Gone from assassin to porter in less den ten minutes." LeBeau muttered as he fell easily into step beside her. One of the side-effects of his job was that Remy knew this airport like the back of his hand, and they quickly moved through the crowds to the luggage carousel. "Dis just a visit or you planning to stay a bit longer?"

Lorna didn't catch the last thing that Remy said. It was him probably complaining about the amount of luggage she'll have. Lorna bit her lip, she hadn't thought about it all the way through. "I am planning to stay." She replied and stopped at their destination. She had already talked to Charles about the arrangements. "It's been a long year. How was your year?"

"Been better. Operation went to hell. Ended up spending two months being tortured by a man dat thought he was a re-born Nazi scientist from de forties." He took a look at the pile of carefully matched luggage. Something’s never changed, he thought, with a wry smile. "Den Ororo and I eloped." He didn't give her any more details. At one point in their past, it had been her at his house in Beaumont-les-Bains.

"Nazi Scientist? Jeez. Glad that you are okay." She looked at her luggage that was coming around and went for one of the smaller ones and dropped -carefully- beside her. Bingo. He had said the words that she wanted to hear from him. Putting on a real smile she looked over at him, "Congratulations. I mean that." She wasn't going to tell him any differently, it was no longer her business. She reached over to grab another luggage but it almost took her with her. "Christ, what did I pack? Pans?" She muttered to herself as she let it go - also changing the subject before things got too awkward.

"Last time, it was pans. Dose specially coated ones dat you were sure were magnetically unique and made me carry from Italy." Remy said, hoisting the bags. The Cajun was built skinny, but it hid surprising strength for his size. "You going to seize de kitchen again?"

"Hey those pans were magnetically unique and I still have those." She eyed one of her the last small piece of luggage that came by. "There can only be one master chief...tell me Remy who has been in my kitchen?"

"In de mansion? Not a clue. Remy gets his food like any civilized person; from good restaurants around New York." He grinned, lightning quick. "All dat I remember was dat dey heavy."

Eyeing him, "My cooking is better than any five star restaurant. And it is free." Picking up her last luggage and put it over her shoulder. "I think that is it." Doing a mental count to make sure she had everything accounted for, before they left the airport.

"I don't live at de mansion, you know." He said, disarming the comment with a smile. He waved for a couple of porters to get the rest. "Dere's an advantage to using de staff."

"Doesn't make it any less true." Smirking. "At least they don't whine about lifting heavy luggage." Watching as the porters gather up her luggage and waiting for more direction.

"Remy getting old. Might pull my back or something wit' dose monsters dat you packed." He waved the porters towards the door, falling in step beside her as the wove through the crowd. "You get you powers sorted out at Muir? Moira decided to be in a bad mood de time I asked."

"You should see what I pack when I just go on a mini vacation." Lorna fell silent at the mention of her powers. How should she answer this without going into full details? "Yes. I wouldn't have left it it wasn't." Her voice teased him.

"You lucky you a friend, Lorna. Otherwise, Remy already be on de phone wit' Doug and Marie-Ange, ordering dem to get me your updated file from Muir. After all, being a suspicious batard wit' no respect for de privacy of others is de first line in my job description." He was clearly kidding, but in a way, it underlined the strength of his concern. What they once had might have passed a long time again, but it was clear that he still cared deeply.

His words were kind and Lorna knew she was lucky that they were still friends, regardless of their past together. "I had to deal with my inner demons before I saw any progress." She had been talking to a therapist for months and it felt slightly weird to be talking to someone that was outside that circle. "I don't want to go into details in the middle of the airport. Maybe over coffee sometime."

"As long as you making de coffee, you got a deal. And lunch. Lunch and coffee." Remy said as they finished loading the car. "See, dat's all my training at work to get de free meal from you. Impressive, neh?"

Lorna put her free hand on her hip "I thought you only liked getting your food from civilized places?" Using his own words against him. "I think it is your stomach talking more than your training." She teased in a friendly way.

"It would not be de first time, femme

"No, of course not."
