After a frantic e-mail from Sarah, Meggan hurries over to her room for a very serious talk.

Meggan quickly walked down the hall, and knocked on Sarah’s door. She was wondering just what needed telling, and hoping it wasn’t anything bad. “Sarah? It’s me, I’m here now,” she called. From the tone of her e-mail, it was likely something really, massively big for her. And so, Meggan had barely finished hitting send and allowed the e-mail to go off into cyberspace, before she was gone from her room, and on the way to her friend’s.

Sarah was sitting on her bed, laptop laid appropriately enough on her lap, and was aimlessly surfing the web when she heard the knock. "I'm coming, just a second!" She quickly put the laptop to one side, touching it and telling it to hibernate, then hopped off of the bed and went to open the door for her friend. When she did she smiled at Meggan, waving her in. "Come on in, please!" Sarah was smiling because last night's events made her very, very happy, but she was also confused, hence contacting one of her best friends to talk about what was going on. "How are you?" It was still polite to ask how the other girl was doing, instead of just diving into her own predicament.

She walked in, a smile crossing her face for an instant after she’d waved a greeting. “Hi! Me? Oh, I’m good, I’m fine. Things are nice.” While she was vaguely confused at first, Meggan thought she understood not wanting to jump into immediately spilling the details—only getting there gradually, whenever Sarah felt like she was ready.

"Good, good. Good is good, that's why it's called good." Sarah closed the door after Meggan entered, then bounded over to her bed, sitting down and looking over at her friend. "So, um. Stuff has happened, Meggan." That seemed as good a way to begin as any to her.

“And why great is great,” Meggan grinned as she sat down beside her. She remembered their previous conversation about when you knew you liked someone in that way. Maybe it was that? Relationship, friendship, driving exam, something else even bigger and scarier—could be anything. “What sort of stuff? Is it kind of like what we talked about, or something else?”

"Yes, exactly!" Sarah smiled as Meggan sat down, turning to face her. She took a deep breath and tucked some of her hair back behind her ear, bracing herself to launch into it. "Ok, well. It's what we talked about before, about knowing whether you liked someone or if you liked liked someone. I wasn't sure before but now I know, it's the last one, the like like. And last night I found out that... that it's a mutual thing." That was the easy part, anyway, and the best part, that it was reciprocal.

“That’s great!” Meggan smiled for her friend. It was also a relief, knowing it wasn’t bad news that needed telling. The relief had to be bigger on Sarah’s end, though, given the circumstances. “I’m glad the like liking’s mutual all around. For you and…whoever the mystery mutual person happens to be.” Was it too soon to beg for details?

"Thanks!" She wasn't sure what else to say in response, really, so hopefully that was ok. "Me too, it's been on my mind for so long, it's nice not to have to worry about it now." Meggan knew this from their earlier conversation, though she hadn't actually told her who it was she'd been wondering about back then. When her friend referred to the mystery person again she figured she ought to tell her, especially since who it was really was a big part of her current confusion. "Well, there's a little worry, I guess. About what it means, because, well." Fidgeting a little, Sarah looked down at her hands. "The person is... it's Layla." She looked back up at Meggan, hoping that wouldn't freak her out or anything.

Meggan just knew that people liked who they liked, so she didn't need to sit there in shock, or anything. Instead, she hugged her quickly for support, before pulling back. “Oh, then mystery solved—congratulations to you, and to Layla! And now, I’m just going to ask one big question. It’s what people keep asking me,” she said carefully, with a little grin. “Just thought I’d keep the trend alive—have you kissed?” She wasn’t freaked out or disturbed at all, just intrigued, and she had a slightly mischievous air with that last question.

Sarah was grateful for the hug, since it meant that Meggan was ok with what she'd just said. That meant so much to her because she wasn't even sure herself if she understood everything that was going on, but knowing her friend was there for her regardless was awesome. There may have even been a little tearing up at the thought but she quickly pushed that aside, smiling as she went on. "Thank you, thank you so much. I'm still... there's a lot to digest, yeah?" Her cheeks flushed at the question however, as her mind went back to all the kissing that had happened. "Oh, uh, we did... yeah." She smiled, no longer worrying about the blushing which was pretty bright red by now. "A lot."

She didn’t know what else to say, aside from a simple “You’re welcome.” Meggan had spotted the tear--a quick check of her pockets proved she didn’t have any tissues on her, or she’d be handing them over. Instead, after a quick look around the room, she gently nudged a nearby and half empty box every so faintly closer, just in case it was needed. She would struggle not to laugh at the blushing of her friend. “A lot, huh? Meaning more than five, more than ten...” She trailed off there expectantly, trying to help put her at ease about the whole explaining side of things.

Looking over at the box that Meggan nudged over, Sarah smiled and took a tissue out. She was ok now but, well, just in case. "Five or ten? Like, five or ten minutes or...?" Wait, she meant maybe five or ten times. Oh dear. No, it was way more than that. "Well, I kinda... spent the night with her. But not in that way! Just in the kissing way, honest!" The blushing was on in full force now as Sarah raised her hands up in denial. "We built a little fort in her room and just kinda camped out there and that's when it happened." She smiled, thinking about their own little fort. "And it was great, really. Amazing even, I just... it's a lot to process, you know?" Not just actually acting on her feelings - and having them returned - but the fact that she really was into girls, it seemed. That was still something she was getting a grip on.

“I meant times, yeah, not minutes or Olympic level kind lasting hours without a break for air,” Meggan said with a laugh. “It’s okay, it’s okay, I believe you when you say just the kissing,” she hurriedly assured her. Blushing would be off the charts if it was more than just kissing in cute little forts, she suspected—red faces for both Sarah, as well as her. “I think I got that. Because...you just need a few days to absorb all the massive new relationship stuff that’s springing up,” Meggan curiously guessed. “In between the squealing? Squealing with happiness, I mean, not...anything else.” It still sounded off. "When it's just you. In your room." That thought was just going places she didn’t really want to dwell on when it came to friends.

Still giggling, Sarah nodded. "Ok, well, I guess it's just the one time then, but it lasted a long time. All night and in the morning a bit too. Not, like, the entire time because we had to sleep, but you know what I mean." Hopefully she did anyway. She was relieved that Meggan believed her and didn't press her on that, because it really would've gotten too awkward to handle. "Squealing with happiness, yes, I've been doing that. Alone, hehe. But yeah, it's going to take time to absorb, and, well." She fidgeted again, pulling her legs up under her on the bed. "I just was never really sure about the whole liking girls thing, you know? I mean, you don't know, or might not know, or gosh." She'd really put her foot in her mouth now, both even. "It's just something I hadn't dealt with myself but now I have to, if that makes sense."

“Right.” Meggan had to believe her. Otherwise, it would be weird with the two of them passing out in exhaustion, or from lack of air, and she couldn’t see the logistics of that at all. “No, I don’t really know…but it makes complete sense.” She was curious about the whole situation, while trying not to pry too much, but she could work to understand. “If you’re not carrying all the stuff alone, and going crazy because you want to say it? But you were scared. Or were. And now, not so much or it’s gone poof? Then, let the squealing from relief, excitement, and making more sense begin?" After a moment, she amended that with, "Or Snoopy Dance of Joy, whatever works for you.”

Sarah smiled at Meggan, nodding as her friend spoke. "Snoopy Dancing is definitely called for in this situation I think." It was a very exciting time to be sure, and she was relieved to be talking about it with someone else too. Her friend was making sense; the worrying and the wondering about Layla in particular was over now and it had turned out to be a very good thing indeed. In the larger sense, however, there was still a lot of soul searching left, or so it felt like. "There's just some bigger things to look at, I think. And I need to find someone... a teacher, maybe, who can, you know. Relate. But I don't know who that'd be, really." And it wasn't really something one could easily ask either, at least not bluntly.

“Neither do I. So…maybe just a teacher that wouldn’t panic about being asked in the first place? If there’s nobody in the same boat with the relating part. Or just nobody we can think of, since there’s probably somebody,” Meggan suggested. There was usually somebody. A deer in headlights look from whichever person they came up with had to be better than outright terror and fleeing the situation.

There probably is, I guess. Maybe... maybe if I can ask someone they could at the very least point me in the right direction?" That sounded like the sensible idea, but it was hard enough telling one of her best friends, how would she fare with a teacher? It was a scary thought but now it was one that she had to face. It wouldn't be fair to herself to just ignore things now, nor to Layla, really, when she thought about it, to just put aside such an important part of who she was and not explore it further. "That's what I'll have to do, I guess." Eventually. She smiled at Meggan, giving her friend another quick hug. "Thanks for the advice, Meggan, and for listening, I really appreciate it."
