Layla and Sarah enjoy a quiet afternoon together while Layla continues to convalesce.

Layla was far too comfortable to be passed out on the couch. She was comfy and there was something warm under her. Like a body pillow only warmer. Warm like...well, like an actual body. Wait, what? Confused, the blonde gently prodded a spot not far from where her cheek was pressed against...whatever. There was blanket and then a firm suppleness beneath it? Still confused, Layla cracked an eye in the near black of her bedroom and looked around. Her room. Her bed. And...her girlfriend. The thought brought a smile to her face before she could even think about it. Layla had tilted her head up to find Sarah. Apparently she must have snuck in at some point because Layla did not remember her being here before. Layla's arm laid across Sarah's legs and hips again and her head shifted to get comfortable again on the spot on Sarah's stomach she had apparently appropriated as her pillow.

Since Layla had been released from the medlab and allowed to stay in her own bedroom, Sarah didn't have to spend as much time with her at her bedside or worrying if she'd be ok. Just because she didn't have to, however, didn't mean that she wouldn't. She still spent most of her free time checking in on the blonde, and earlier that day when she found her resting quietly she hadn't been able to resist the urge to have a quick nap herself, so she sneaked under the covers and made herself comfortable. During the nap it seemed Layla had shifted to use her as a pillow but that was more than ok with her. Feeling her shift a little once again, Sarah opened her eyes and looked down, smiling as the other girl got comfy again. She reached down and stroked some of Layla's blonde locks with her hand. "I think someone might be awaaaake."

"Shhh, don't tell," Layla murmured, still keeping her voice just loud enough to be heard because her head was iffy on whether or not it approved of sound still. Worst. Hangover. Ever. She was tempted to actually get a hang over one of these days just for the sake of having real comparison rather than what movies made it seem like.

Grinning, Sarah gently poked Layla's earlobe as her hand passed by it. "Ok, I won't. Though there's only the two of us here so I don't know who else I could tell anyway." She spoke quietly because she knew that Layla was still recovering from her recent overexertion. "How are you feeling, Lay?" Sarah also needed to work on a nickname for Layla but she wasn't the best at coming up with those.

"Sleepy." The word we mumbled specifically to convey how sleepy. "And hungry. And comfy. Moving not allowed. And people can hear. Like...through walls and shit. They could be eavesdropping." Whether she was just making that up because she was Layla or because she was half asleep still was unclear even to the blonde herself. "When'd you get here?"

"Aww, ok, no moving then, promise." Sarah moved her hand back to gently going through Layla's hair again. She looked around to see if there was anything to eat nearby, and found a granola bar sitting next to the bed within arm's reach. Her free hand reached out and grabbed it, handing it down to Layla in case she wanted it. "I hope no one's eavesdropping, that'd be weird, even if we were just sleeping." Sarah looked around at that thought because that'd be pretty uncool of someone to do. "Oh, I popped by like..." She checked her watch to see what time it was and how long she'd been there. "Maybe an hour ago or so, and made myself at home. Hope you don't mind."

Decisions, decisions. Granola bar was food. It was even like vaguely protein-like even if it was mostly starch-like. But eating the granola bar meant getting the wrapper open and that meant moving and she was comfortable, damn it. Layla heaved a sigh and took the bar, then used her teeth to tear the top open and wormed her fingers into the opening to pry it open further so she could peel the wrapper back and take a bite. "I totally seem way mad, right?" she said around her chewing. "I'm like totally pissed and you can tell I'm so kicking you out like any minute now because it's so not cool to wake up to person pillow, right?" Somehow, even despite mostly whispering and mumbling around her eating Layla's voice managed to drip sarcasm all over her words. It was a talent. "And, seriously? Eavesdropping on us while we're sleeping is creepier. 'Cause, dude, that is some serial rapist type shit right there or something. First they start as eavesdroppers, then peeping toms, then they're stealing your dirty underwear and it escalates and it's possible I watch TV too much."

Sarah put her free hand under her head, propping herself up to look down at Layla as she tore open the granola bar and started eating it. "Mmm, yeah, you're pretty pissed right now. Maybe I should go, I don't want to make you any madder." She was grinning as she spoke though, giggling a little but trying to suppress her laughter, because when she giggled her stomach shook a bit and it made Layla's head bounce. Of course that only made her laugh more, because it was a vicious cycle like that. "Oh no, please, don't even kid about that. Totally spooky. No one wants our dirty underwear!" She hoped no one did anyway because ew, gross.

"Perverts do," Layla relayed as a matter of fact. She actually missed when she went to bite into her granola bar again because of her head's roller coaster ride on Sarah's stomach. So, of course, there was only one thing to do. Poke her. Which Layla did, in her side where she hoped Sarah wasn't ticklish. "You are the worst table ever. Remind me to never eat off you again." She paused. "That came out wrong, didn't it?"

"Yeah but but but." Sarah was trying hard not to worry about the whole situation but Layla was making it hard not to with her logic and all. "Eep!" She giggled even harder at the poking because she was a little bit ticklish, especially in the sides, and she was already laughing so it was hard not to now. "Be good Lay!" The odd phrasing by Layla forced an already bad case of the giggles that had been exacerbated by poking to grow into an even worse case now, oh dear.

Layla's head rolled and she shifted her body until it was her chin perched on Sarah's stomach and blue eyes could stare up at the giggling brunette. Which, of course, Layla made worse 'unintentionally' by poking her again. "I'm gonna take my eye out. Blind by granola! Do you wanna be responsible for that? And do you really wanna be the one who is all 'hold up, I gotta go try to kiss my girlfriend's socket better because she totally took out her eye because eating off me is dangerous' and then try to explain like four different things that make people give you funny looks in that sentence?" Another poke. "Do you?"

"Ack! No, don't, heeeehehe, stop!" Watching Layla's head bounce was just the funniest thing ever right about now and the poking wasn't helping at all, nope. "Ew ew ew why would you kiss a socket? You're not even making sense heheheeee!" She really was trying to stop, honest, but it really wasn't going very well. "Ahhh! Quit poking me woman!" Sarah tried to reach out for the other girl's hands to stop her but she was laughing too hard and was pretty weak at the moment for the very same reason.

"You'd be required to kiss the socket. My empty socket. To make it better. Because my eye is totally being lost 'cause of you." She poked Sarah's side again, this time further down her side toward her hip. "'Cause you're all wiggly! And trying to eat and it's all 'shit, granola in the eye' and then the eye's gouged out and rolls off but you're still wiggly because you didn't see the eye fall out and then you squish it! And then I'll end up with a patch or be Vibra-Socket Jr or something. So you'll be like required for being At Fault Girlfriend to kiss the socket."

"Nonononono, no socket!" Socket made her think of Scott and the idea of kissing teachers was not on at all. "Heeee, no poking either, ohmygosh, Layla! Don't make me pee or something!" Because that would totally a horrible thing to have happen but if she kept it up, holy crap. She'd never done that before but Layla was pushing the envelope there. "No Vibra-Socket Jr, just stop eating the granolahahahaha, just stoooooooop!"

Layla's prodding digit came to an abrupt halt when Sarah threatened the possibility of peeing. "If you pee in my bed while I'm laying on you we are so breaking up." Because, really...how did you ever react to that? She actually stared at Sarah, blinking only when absolutely necessary.

Reaching down to hold Layla's hands now that she could actually catch her breath with the pause in all of the ticking and convulsions from laughing, Sarah fervently nodded her head. "Ok ok ok, I promise, I won't!" She may have giggled a few more times just because, that had been a lot of tickling, man. Her sides were aching and it hurt to breathe a little, but she was smiling. "Ok, phew, that's better, ohmygosh."

With both hands pinned and her table steadying, Layla wound up pouting. Then she wound up craning her neck in an effort to bite the granola bar uselessly clasped in her hand. "It's not my fault you can't hold your liquor." And back to craning her neck, snapping her mouth like a hungry baby bird desperate for the worm momma was dangling from her beak. Only the granola bar was way less gross than a worm. Though maybe not as proteiny.

"Awww." Sarah frowned at the pouting, and at the sad efforts to try and eat the granola bar. She let go of both her hands, trusting her girlfriend not to start tickling her again, at least not immediately. "Wait, liquor? What do you mean?" Her breathing was just about back to normal now but she wasn't quite sure what Layla meant by that. She idly moved one of her hands to brush Layla's hair again as the other girl ate. "Is there anything I can get for you, or do for you, hon?"

It wasn't worth explaining the totally offhand comment Layla had meant about not holding her liquor so she didn't bother. "Stop being such a wiggly pillow? And maybe get me real food if Lorna doesn't bring anything soon?" Lorna had been awesome with bringing Layla food deliveries, it was just that sometimes when Layla was awake versus when the green-haired cook came by weren't always anywhere near one another and reheating food was more effort than Layla had to expend.

She had remained relatively still now that the tickling had ceased. "Ok, can do. And I will, if she doesn't bring anything up to you in a little bit." It was awesome that Lorna was helping her out so much like that, but if she didn't get a chance to bring Layla some food then Sarah had no problem getting some for her instead. For now, though, she was content to just lay there and hang out with the other girl and enjoy some companionable silence.
