While out for a walk, Sarah runs into Meggan and they continue on together. They talk about recent events and a potential idea is hatched.

It was a nice enough day outside, a little chilly but the weather was slowly starting to warm up to springtime temperatures. After a long winter, which saw a lot of tough times, Sarah was looking forward to the arrival of spring more than ever before. With Layla still on the mend from recent events, she decided to see if Meggan would be up for a walk to get some fresh air, get out of the mansion for awhile, and there they were doing just that.

"I'm so glad it's starting to get nice out, I think I was starting to forget what it was like to be outside, you know?" Sarah had spent many hours watching movies with Layla, which were awesome, of course, for many reasons, but it was nice to be outdoors again too.

Meggan had practically camped out on one of the lower branches of a nearby tree earlier. It was a nice enough vantage point to get some fresh air, with several branches being in the way to avoid any chills if the wind picked up…but when she had heard Sarah, she had scrambled down for a visit with the other girl. “I know,” she sympathized. “Sometimes Jack Frost can be a little too enthusiastic with his job.” Even if there were certain moments in the colder months that were spectacular.

"It's true. Not that I don't like winter, I guess, but I prefer spring and summer a whole bunch more." Winter had its benefits, but it was nice to be able to walk around outside without having to bundle up in a ton of clothing. Sticking her hands into the front pouch of her hoodie, Sarah looked over at Meggan. "So, how've you been doing?"

“Summer’s the time for me. Definitely summer, when I can swim more without turning into an ice block, or needing to grow fur,” Meggan agreed with a laugh. You couldn’t swim while wearing winter parkas or wool sweaters. “Good,” she began. “Very good…and Valentine’s Day was great, too,” she hinted with a smile that was almost shy. “What about you? Are things going good for you and Layla?” Or was it none of her business? She wasn't sure.

Sarah giggled at the idea of growing fur, though she nodded to Meggan's comments. "Yeah, it's nice to be outside and still be nice and warm." Soon enough they should be back there, she hoped. "Ooh, yeah? You and Korvus got to spend some time together, hmm?" She winked and elbowed Meggan lightly, then blushed a bit herself at the mention of Layla. "Oh yeah, things are... they've going very well, I think. It's nice, so nice, I've... never really felt like this before, it's kinda hard to explain." It was more than ok to talk about their respective relationships with each other in her mind.

“Oh, yes. First kiss ever, after we drove into the lake.” Which had been one of the best surprises. Plus second, third, fourth and then no more counting kisses somewhere around the worst portion of the movie they’d been watching. Meggan had, thankfully, muffled any noises from the resulting glee with a pillow once she’d returned to her room. She hadn’t wanted to embarrass Korvus on the journals, or scare Molly, so she’d done her muffled joy from beneath the bed for a full minute. “Hard to explain, because it’s all so new? Or because of unexpected things?”

"Ohmygosh yay!" Sarah might have squee'd a little at that news, clapping her hands together in excitement for her friend. "That's fantastic news Meggan! What was it like, I bet it was awesome... wait, into the lake?" That part had eluded her on first listen but it was starting to sink in then. "Because it's so new, and different, yes. I mean in the best possible way, of course, don't get me wrong. Like, I've always liked watching movies but watching them with Layla and cuddling up with her, so warm and soft, I just... I don't want to move. Like, ever. And I can't say why, it's just so nice and... and right, being there, you know? I think that's the best way to put it." It really was hard to describe but it definitely was a good thing.

“It was. He altered the car, so it was amphibious,” Meggan explained with a laugh. “We didn’t sink to the bottom of the lake, we went around it. Not all the way under, it’s not like a submarine. He knows I like the water, so it was fun.” Meggan nodded at the comment about not wanting to move, thinking she understood what she meant. “I don’t know a better word than ‘right’ for that feeling. Where you’re supposed to be isn’t a specific word.”

"That's amazing, wow!" Sarah grinned and shook her head. Korvus was very talented indeed, because that sounded like an awesome experience. Even if they didn't go all the way under the water it was still a very impressive thing to hear, and it sounded pretty romantic to her too. Semi-submersible cars, that sounded kinda steampunkish to her, which was awesome. "Yeah, right is ... right, I guess, the right word anyway." Sarah chuckled before snapping her fingers, eyes going wide as an idea popped into her head. "You know what we should do? We should go on one of those double date things, maybe, the four of us!" The idea had only just popped into her head and she'd blurted it out as soon as it had, as she was wont to do sometimes.

Meggan tilted her head back in thought before nodding. Now there was an interesting idea. “That could be fun. Once Layla’s completely over being under the weather, and if Korvus would be comfortable with it.” Now there was an interesting idea, even with the chance of someone vetoing it. “And if we did end up trying out a double date, if Korvus and Layla both agreed, there’s always the option of using the amphibious car, so you could get a good look at it,” she pointed out. Since Sarah seemed interested in the idea of it. “Use it for the lake, or a drive-in? If there’s any of those around here, I don’t know. I've never been to one.” Lots of driving both in and out of the water.

"It really could be, yeah!" It was true, anything of that nature would have to wait until Layla was feeling better and able to get around under her own power, and if Korvus was ok with it too, but it sounded like a great idea to Sarah. "Oh wow, do you think we could? Because I'm not gonna lie, that sounds totally awesome!" Even if not she just might have to ask Korvus to show her the car sometime because it sounded pretty darn cool. "Either of those ideas would be great, yes! As long as everyone's ok with it, of course. That'd be so cool, I've never been to one either!"

Meggan didn’t know if Korvus would agree with double dating, but really—just asking if he was up for it, at the very least, wasn’t that bad of a thing. “I hope so. It couldn’t hurt to ask, even someone might say no!” They would also have to check listings around the area first, to see if there actually was a drive-in movie place somewhere close. “And if we can’t find a drive-in that's close to us—we could just see about having a few laps through the lake or finding another small body of water that’s near us, if you wanted to see what the interior looked like. While it’s in the water."

It had been a spur of the moment type suggestion on Sarah's part, and she wasn't really sure if it'd be something Layla would want to do or not, but in talking to Meggan, one of her best friends, it had seemed like a fantastic idea. Whether or not it was something either of their significant others would want to follow through with remained to be seen but it couldn't hurt to ask, or so she hoped. "Exactly, yes. And oh wow, even something like that would be cool, to see how it looked like underwater." Korvus's cool index was definitely getting higher and higher in her books the more she heard about things like that.

She didn’t want Sarah to be disappointed by not going several feet underwater. “If there were any fish that felt like leaping up around the window at eye level, we could say hi. It’s almost like an aquarium,” Meggan pointed out. "Where the fish came to your vehicle if they felt like it, instead of you going along with the fish through various tanks." Even if somebody said no to the double date plan when that thought was finally sprung, there was still that water avenue.

"Like an aquarium, holy cow, that's fantastic!" It was true, Sarah was getting pretty excited about the idea of testing out that car. She clapped her hands together, grinning ear to ear. "Dude, seriously, wow. And that's where you had your first kiss? Meggan, oh, you are a lucky lady indeed." Her own first kiss was extremely memorable for its own reasons, of course, and she cherished the memory dearly, but Meggan's sounded pretty amazing too.

“First ever, yeah. Not until we got back in the garage, in one spot, unmoving,” Meggan amended with a tiny grin. Nerves had abounded then, but it was nice talking about it. It had been great, then. Still was. “We might’ve steered into a rock or the car might have done something not so safe if he kissed me out there on the water. Distraction. Crashing into shore wouldn’t be good. Memorable, but not good.” Repairs and imagined drama, missing out on a first kiss. Or not.

"Ooh, yeah, good idea." Something as huge as one's first kiss might lead to an accident, which would have been especially disastrous if you were inside a car underwater, or at least partially underwater. "That is one awesome story though, Meggan. I'm so happy for you!" She really was very happy for her friend, and glad that she had someone else to talk about this whole relationship stuff that could relate to it on a similar level.
