In the skies above, Warren, Lorna and Pixie take care of aerial back up.
Pilot Bart Singh glanced down through the trees, catching sight of weapons fire and right colours - mutate suits, the missing candidates, engaging a ground patrol. "Looks like someone needs back up," he said into his mic to the gunner crew in the back. "Coming around for a sweep. Michel, call it in." He banked the 'bird, eyes still on the scene below, coming in for a strafing run...
Sure, they could try. Except there was an X-Man waiting for them to attempt just that. All of a sudden, a winged figure darted across their field of vision, banking sharply to turn and stay within their notice. Pay attention to him, pay attention to him. Warren wasn't often fond of being in the spotlight, but for the moment, being the centre of attention was all he wanted.
Lorna was hidden among the trees, now that Angel was playing distraction game. The small magnetic ball glowed green as she threw towards the helicopter, just enough to kill the engine and radio. Also using her power to also slow down the helicopter when it fell.
"The fuck?!" Singh was battling to regain control of the chopper, but some outside force was controlling everything. Not to mention there was a freaking angel swooping them outside, tying up the gunners' attention. The reeked of ambush by those foreign terrorists and he cursed himself for endangering his crew by falling right into the trap.
"Prepare for crash landing!" he shouted into his mic as the trees rose up beneath them.
Megan ducked her head slightly between her shoulders as the helicopter came to a tense landing. The wind blew her matted pink hair everywhere and she couldn't hear anything except for a loud but controlled crash. She was going to need to get closer to use her dust as planned; she headed towards it, summoning her dust to the surface of her skin, trusting her flying teacher to keep their attention for just a little longer.
Warren smiled grimly at the success of their attack, continuing to fly in circles around the grounded helicopter, keeping the attention of the gunners. While they were too busy watching the sky trying to take out him, then Megan could get in close.
Lorna lowered her hands as the helicopter landed nearby. "Get ready Pixie." Looking over and she moved her hand to the side as the side of the helicopter tore open, revealing the men inside.
They were still alive? Singh didn't know why that was, but he wasn't looking a gift horse in the mouth. His hand moved to his service pistol as the door tore away with a screech of metal.
Pixie flew in close to the helicopter. As Lorna ripped it open, she released the pollen-like dust. The copter's blades were no longer spinning, and the dust floated right on target. To help it along, she beat the air behind it with her wings. The men reminded her of butterflies emerging from a cocoon, she thought. Their world was about to get more colorful and interesting, for a short time. She then turned tail, twirling away on her four wings.
Warren came down to meet the pair of brightly colored ladies, beating his wings carefully to help steer the dust towards the men and away from him and Lorna. They didn't need a dose of pixie dust right now.
"What the--?" Singh blinked at the sight of the pink-haired girl who appeared in the doorway. She was just a kid and that was enough to make his finger freeze on the trigger. Then the air was full of a pollen-like dust and he coughed violently as he breathed it in. Poison?
He burst out laughing. No, not poison. The world was sparkling, the air filled with music and rainbows. Not poison at all, but the best thing in the world.
Lorna stood behind Warren as Pixie dusted the mean. "So glad you are on our side, Pixie. We should take whatever we need and keep moving." The door she tore off came towards her before becoming an armor piece that covered her entire arm.
"Hold on," Warren said, moving in close to the men. "Polaris, can you help me strip the soldiers? We need to make sure they're unlikely to follow us."
He smiled at the confused pilot, taking the gun from him easily and throwing it into the bush. In the state they were in, it would take them a long while to find them. If they ever did.
