Lorna, Catsye and Molly have a shocking encounter.

There was movement in the trees, shadows descending from the leaves like locusts, ready to swarm. The Magistrates made no attempt at being quiet. Branches snapped under their footsteps. They readied their guns, all pointed in the general direction of the mutant terrorist threat.

"Stand down! Surrender now or we will fire!" one man barked.

"Stand down! Stand down!" another one yelled, a chorus of voices one after another.

Lorna put herself in front of Molly. "Stay close" Shards of metal formed from her scrape metal she had collected and received, flinging her hands towards the Magistrates and letting the metal go flying.

Rather than standing down, Catseye shifted to BigCat and headed up a tree in a flash, a spray of bullets following her, which was exactly what she'd hoped would happen, anticipating that while they were looking up at her, the others could work on taking them out on the ground. She kept moving until the Magistrates lost her in the tree canopy, then dropped down on top of one of them to incapacitate him before pouncing on a second, then heading towards a third, rapping the heads of the first two against the forest floor and giving them solid head-butts to make sure they were out. She misjudged the angle of her pounce on the third, however, and by this time shots were being fired at her again from other directions, so she jumped into the trees again, giving herself a moment for her healing factor to catch up with a bullet in one of her haunches.

Run run run run run! Molly stuck by close to Lorna and BigCatsEye. She felt like she was gonna throw up. Her stomach felt like it had bees in it (not butterflies cause those were pretty). And she had to be really careful not to trip or nothing as she ran and hid behind a tree.

It was hard not to scream and stuff cause the bullets were loud and she was afraid they were gonna hit her so she covered her mouth with her hands as she hid behind a tree. She had to take her hands off her mouth a few times, though cause she had to breathe and stuff but most of the time she just breathed through her nose.

The stormtroopers were getting closer, and she tried to keep an eye out for Green and Purple and got really scared when she didn't see her but then caught a glimpse of purple up in the tree and felt relieved.

All of a sudden the trees she was moving through started... squirming, and Catseye paused for a second to gape at the sight. She let out a warning sound, half-roar, half-meow to draw Lorna and Molly's attention to it. Since some magistrates were still mucking about, however, she forced herself to keep focused on the task at hand and dropped down for another attack on the Magistrates.

The metal shards hit the men's guns and the metal returned back to her. Lorna looked over at Catseye's warning call. Seeing the trees started to move, Lorna backed up again. "That doesn't look good." She whispered. One of the men came up to Lorna which she formed a metal armor around her fist and punched him in the face knocking him out.

Catseye was taking out tendons in Magistrates' elbows and calves to incapacitate them, striking three more before disappearing into the trees again.

The branch she landed on did not grow straight out of the tree, but reached down toward the ground as if it had been holding a heavy item for quite some while even though there was nothing there now. But as soon as all four paws hit the limb, the tree came to life and flinging the purple cat into the air, limbs flailing in disorientation. Vines shot out from all directions, grabbing the purple feline, their thorns digging deeper into her fur as her body was wrapped by the greenery. And the more Catseye struggled, the tighter the vines squeezed around her.

Panicked by the sudden entrapment, Catseye let out a loud, angry roar, wriggling and trying to lash at the vines with her claws, though she couldn't seem to move.

Lots of roars made Molly jump and she spun around, her eyes widening. Holy crap! The trees were Whomping Willows!

Looking around quickly, Molly wished she had a magic wand as she reached down and grabbed a couple of rocks, flinging them at the evil tree Catseye was in. She tried not to hit her too.

"Hey! Um...TREE?! Over here! Let her go!"

If it went after her she could run some more and it'd maybe be distracted.

Looking up at the trees as they moved, "Catseye!" Lorna yelled as she saw a purple among the vines. She could help but smirk at Molly's reaction to the tree, by throwing rocks. "Don't get too close." She said as the metal floating near the vines started to hack its way through to get Catseye free.

Even as the metal scrap managed to cut into the vines, more appeared to take their place. If trees could laugh, this one would. Their futile attempts with rocks and metal were no match for her. She was as old as time itself and had survived much worse than puny human-mutants and their weak tricks. A branch, broad and strong, swung behind the woman with the green hair, making contact squarely on the back of her head.

Pain flooded Lorna's sense as she fell forward, landing on her hands and knees. The metal Lorna was using fell to the ground with a thud. Her vision went black for a couple of seconds as she tried not to pass out from the pain. Lorna focused on the ground as she tried to get her bearings back. Spitting out blood from her mouth, as she had bitten her tongue in the process.

Something moved near them. It was only a flash of color, and a muffled sound as the figure made its way toward the trio. The sweet, astringent smell of blood was too intriguing to pass up; this needed to be seen and confirmed. Pressed against the base of the tree, there was no way of knowing that anyone was there so perfect was the camouflage. Except for the pink hand that rested against the dark bark.

"Lorna!" Molly yelled with a gasp. She looked around for a rock on the ground but as she did she caught something weird out of the corner of her eye. Overcome by curiosity, she got a little closer. Was the tree a person?

"Hello?" she said, reaching out to try to touch the hand.

It flinched away, a spray of thorns shooting out in defense, puncturing the skin of the young girl who had come too close. The tip of each was laced with a poison designed to stun and disorient, but not kill. It had been a reaction, too quick for something more deadly to be produced. But now that her cover had been blown, Mutate 557 stepped out from behind the tree to look her aggressor in the eyes.

Molly yelped, yanking her hand back against her chest as blood began to seep out, staining her shirt. She looked up, her breath quickening as her vision began to get fuzzy. But the tree was moving. It was shaped like a person. No, it was a person. They were covered in plants...legs, arms, feet, body...but bits of human showed a little, their ears and hands...and eyes. She knew the eyes somehow. She remembered the eyes.

"C...Callie?"

The mutant known at one time as Callie smirked as a vine wrapped itself around Molly and threw the small girl backwards toward the retreating hostile forces.

"The fight has only just begun. Our power and righteousness will triumph always.

Long live Genosha, and death to all her enemies."
