The escape attempt continues, with Amanda, Sarah, Remy and Terry fighting their way out.

The fire alarm was wailing, as Magistrates moved through the inky smoke, trying to determine the source of the fire. Fortunately, with this attention elsewhere, the cells on lockdown seemed the less important thing. It was a mistake. The card quickly set them free, as MA and Scott moved down the cellblock, releasing them. As agreed, the first out were Remy, Sarah, Amanda and Terry. Remy immediately put Amanda on to help Terry, knowing that she wasn't going to make it far without a minder. With a nod, Sarah slipped away on point, moving low through the Remy brought his charges up, and then joined Sarah near the turn to the guard station. He peeked around carefully.

"Only one at de station. Make it quick." He said to her.

Sarah rounded the corner, with a bone club in one hand. The guard spoke hurriedly into an intercom, distracted, and when he finished, he looked up just in time to see the bone club swinging to catch him on the side of the jaw. His head snapped away violently, sending his entire body out of the chair with a crash. Then he was still, slumped on the floor of the guard station. That was going to really hurt when he came-to.

"Stick close!" Amanda told Terry, taking care to mouth the words clearly at the deafened X-Man and to grab her hand as they scurried towards the guard station. Several locked doors and gates were between them and freedom, and the guard station would let them open those all in one hit. If they could find the right buttons.

Terry nodded and gestured to indicate she understood the gist of the situation. Her free hand slapped against the wall, using it along with Amanda's assistance to guide her through the darkened smoke and into the station. She kept out of the way, crouched just inside the door to keep an eye on the hallway, blinking back tears from smoke-irritated eyes.

Remy pulled them again to a stop, waiting. A guard came dashing past, with a fire extinguisher in his hands. A chop to the throat to him off his feet, and Remy crushed his windpipe with a knee. He reached down, liberating the weapons and tossing them back to Amanda and Terry. Guns would just get in his way. Past the hall was a smaller visitors area, and through that, a bank of elevators. Two guards remained at their posts, despite the alarm, and Remy gestured Sarah to the one on the right.

There was no way to sneak up on them this time, the guards stood with their backs to the elevators, facing the door to the visitor's area. Sarah took on the one on the right as suggested, throwing herself at him with a vicious ferocity. She was too close for the guard to point the large machine gun he held at her, so instead he used it as a shield to block the blows. He pushed forward with it to shove her backwards, and Sarah used the extra closeness to knee him in the groin. He cursed, falling to the ground, and Sarah kicked him in the head to take him out.

The weight of the gun in her hands was strangely comforting, and Amanda blessed the lessons she'd had with Bishop that she knew enough to not shoot herself in the foot. As Remy and Sarah butchered their way through the guards, the witch led the X-Man into the security booth, staying low and out of sight. "I'll watch, you find the switch," she told Terry, gesturing first to her own eyes and the door, and then to Terry and the panel. Learning to communicate without words during the whole Tower of Babel business was also coming in handy.

Terry felt the gun slide along the floor and hit her boot. She checked the safety as she scooped it up, then scuttled along at Amanda's heels, shoulder bumping against the wall as she swayed her way into the booth. The efforts of the other two did not go unnoticed, but her attention was focused elsewhere. Terry slid her hands across the panels, reading labels and groupings until she found a likely set and started punching buttons.

Remy let the second guard slide down the wall, dead before he hit the ground from the bone driven up into his brain by the palm strike. The elevator was secure, but with Terry and Amanda at the console, it would only be a matter of time. "Get de others." He hissed to Sarah, sending her back to wave the all clear so they could move up.

She nodded back at him, a single gesture before turning quickly and making her way back the way they had come. Their distraction was only going to buy them so much time, and time was not on their side.

Remy stood at the door, considering their options. This was a crazy escape attempt, but it was the only one with any chance of success. So long as everybody did their parts.
