Meggan goes to see what present Dori brought her from Disneyland. Then, a plan is hatched to try to get an amusement park outing arranged, so that Meggan can ride a roller coaster.

Having made a beeline straight to Dori’s room, Meggan promptly knocked upon the door. As she did so, she remembered to call out, “It’s just me.” She was primarily glad the other girl had made it back home safely…and definitely ready and intensely curious to find out whatever had been brought back from Disneyland for her.

"Come on in!" Dori said, still unpacking some of her stuff, already having her laptop out and on her desk, but not yet booted up. Dori was sporting a bit of a tan and her newly cut hair was now styled - her mom still had friends in Beverly Hills, a spa day had been part of the trip to Cali. "Here for the presents?"

“Guilty,” Meggan confirmed with a small smile as she entered. It looked like nearly everybody was getting their hair cut around the school these days, and it looked nice. “Yes, please,” she added. She was patient when gifts were involved. It wasn’t like she was going to be rude about it, and grab anything that looked vaguely present-like before dashing away.

"Here," Dori said, digging through one of the bags and finding an Ariel plushie, "I thought you'd like this. I also got you one of the hats, because everyone needs the hats."

Ooh, that was The Little Mermaid—Meggan had seen that Disney movie four times on a loop when she'd been smaller, driving several people close to the edge of reason. “I love her, thank you,” she said as she looked it over. So soft. “There’s no scary bobble head eyes rattling around her head, that’s even better.” So now she had a plush mermaid from Dori and that unicorn Layla gave her for Christmas—she almost felt like a pegasus was required now, just to round out the fairy tale creature theme she seemed to have going.

“And thank you for the traditional hat,” she added, slightly unsure if she was supposed to wear it around the rest of the day. If the mouse ears ever disappeared into thin air without warning, she would know they had chosen to migrate into Molly’s ever-increasing collection.

"Glad you like it! I just wish we could've taken everyone with us. Disneyland is awesome this time of year," Dori said happily, as she handed the hat over too, "Maybe we can all get together and go to one of the amusement parks here. Think we could get support for that? You don't get much more fun than roller coasters."

Meggan really didn’t know. So long as nobody wandered off, scaring everybody else into thinking another awful thing had happened, it could be a great plan. “So long as everybody promised to keep their phones attached to them at all times, they probably wouldn’t say no to that plan.” She hoped they wouldn’t—they might all agree that amusement park fun was needed after everything. “I’d put in some begging for the water slides, too," she decided with a small smile. "After my first roller coaster.” She had never actually been on one, but everything she’d seen on television made her think she’d enjoy it.

"Wait, you've never been on one before?" Dori asked, shocked. Obviously this was a completely travesty that had to be fixed as soon as possible.

“No, never,” Meggan replied with a shake of her head. The chance to go ride one for real had never really come up for her--not before now. “But I'd like to.”

"Then we totally have to get you on one!" Dori said, almost jumping up and down with excitement.

“Oh, yes, once everybody agrees to it. Then a few loops,” she immediately agreed. Then they could learn how Meggan would do on a roller coaster, and whether or not she’d just end up screaming like all the footage of various people she’d seen in those commercials.

"Awesome! I'll see when we can get it set up," Dori said happily, "And it will be the best day ever."

She nodded, too, equally satisfied with that plan. “We’d have to pick the perfect moment to ask, too, when nothing big is happening. In case someone might want to chaperone.” No incoming disasters. Because someone usually did want to keep an eye on everyone, even if just this once it might not be needed. Meggan also wondered if Korvus would agree to get on board a roller coaster—now that would be even more interesting to see if he actually agreed. Once she’d had her own first go around, of course.

"I'll take care of it," Dori said, rubbing her hands together and now hatching this plan, "Yes, this will be most awesome."
