Molly, Sam, Scott, Megan, Meggan, and Krovus arrive at Lorna's booth only to find it missing of Lorna, Sharon and Sooraya and a little girl eating a popcorn ball.

Arriving at Lorna's booth, Sam looked around for her familiar face but couldn't find her anywhere nearby. Someone else was at the booth, however, someone he didn't recognize.

"Excuse me, fair maiden, but we are in search of a friend of ours, the fair lady Lorna?"

Molly stood on her tip toes, glancing around for a glimpse of green hair. Everybody looked so neat here in their outfits. It felt like when she got to go play pirates with Kurt. Except it wasn't in the water this time. A lady ran by chasing a rooster so she got distracted by that for a few moments while the others asked around.

Meggan looked up from where she was distractedly tying up one last loose end that had fallen undone on the side of her maiden costume. She just needed to get the knot tighter this time, and things would be fine. “Maybe she needed to help somebody else, and she’ll be back soon?” There were a lot of booths, maybe someone had requested she do something for them?

"Yes, do you know whither she might be or when she may return?" Pixie asked the young stranger. "Beautiful lady. Green hair, 'bout to here?" Whither or thither? She hoped to get the hang of this Elizabethan speech so she could act more in-character.

“She is playing 'Princess' with me.” Elizabeth Rose said with a mouth full of the popcorn balls that Lorna was selling. “The girl with the purple cat tail and the one with the pretty eyes their playing too.” Tilting her head to the side, in the cutest pose possible. “Want to play too?”

"We would be honored, I have no doubt." Korvus offered. "Would you be kind enough to explain to us what is required for our participation?"

Seeing the man dressed up in as an knight, Elizabeth ran behind the counter and ducked behind it. "Bad man!" Her eyes flashing white before she closed her eyes, "Bad man!"

"I beg your pardon, Lady, uh, Miss Lady. That is no villain nor cad! That is Sir Korvus," Pixie explained. She was disturbed by the flash in the younger girl's eyes and looked to Meggan, wondering if anyone else had noticed.

Meggan shook her head. She had seen the flash, too, but didn’t know what it meant aside from tiny mutant child—one that was scared because of them. “Sir Korvus won’t harm you one bit, you can be certain of that,” she added, hoping to coax the little girl back out of hiding. She didn’t think Korvus’ outfit was that scary, but she knew she was biased.

The girl yelling made Molly quickly look over and she glanced between Korvus and the little girl, tilting her head with confusion. She hadn't seen the look but she did see that the little girl was scared.

"He's not bad. He's a good guy. A good Knight....like um...um..." Who were some good knights?

"Camelot? No..that's a place...um..." She furrowed her eyebrows, trying to think of a name.

"He's like King Arthur" Scott spoke up. "Generous and kind, he'd never hurt you, he only ever attacks bad people."

Looking up at the people around her, “No, you must protect me!” Elizabeth Rose held out her hand towards the one with wings. Her eyes flashed white again as her powers spread in a radius around her.

"The young maiden is a witch!" Exclaimed Pixie. She meant it in a playful way, but it came out sounding wrong. "I mean, Sir Korvus is totally safe and you don't need--I mean, ah, of course we will protect you--the Woodland Fae and her friends? Guys?" Pixie looked around to the others.

“That’s right, please don’t be frightened,” Meggan quickly joined in. She wasn’t sure what the little girl was doing, but if she was scared they should help keep things from escalating to full-blown panic mode. “The Woodland Fae and friends will keep all knaves and scoundrels far from your person, Little Miss Lady.” Wait. That wasn’t right, Korvus wasn't either one of those.

Korvus took a couple more steps back. "Protect her from me? I do not believe I have deduced the rules of this game yet. Perhaps it is cultural. I would like explicit instruction." He looked between the girls as the situation continued to escalate, then to Scott for help.

"No. I am not a witch. I am a princess. Daddy says so." Nodding and then stood up as a fairy said she will help protect her, hiding still behind the fairy. Her eyes flashed white again as the radius spread even bigger, "He wants the crown for himself. And if he gets it then the..then the land will be in darkness forever."

[Place hold for Marlena]

Blinking once or twice at the flashing light, Sam shook his head and then started strumming his plastic lute as if it were real. He cleared his throat and, apparently struck by divine inspiration (or so he might later claim), began to sing:

"~The princess's father doth covet the crown 'Ere he gets it in darkness the world woulds't be drown'd Band ye all - peasant, noble For the cause, 'tis of global Importance that he shan't be royalty bound~"

With a final large strum - which, of course, made no sound other than that in Sam the Bard's head - he bowed deeply, then stood up, lute clutched tightly to his chest in one hand while he other doffed his feathered cap and held it out for any potential tips with the other hand.

"Hearken unto the bard," Scott spoke up with a passable British accent. "My ear's doth bleed, what torture this singing. I do not trek through the forests all day to have mine poor ears tortured like this. Away with you knave and sully not the presence of these fair ladies with your voice. Now be gone and take this accursed scoundrel with you." he told Sam as he indicated Korvus.

“After such a long passage through the country you must certainly be parched, then, my liege,” Meggan said brightly as she wandered closer, giving him a quick curtsy out of respect. She tried to keep a close eye on the knave, giving him a dark look as she hoped he would leave the little girl alone. “Do you or the other fellow require water or food? I’ve refreshments from an inn just up the road, sire…enough to satisfy many a wanderer on this day.” Even if their singing would cause customers to flee in self-preservation, while she hid her own wince of pain out of a desire to serve, and therefore gain what meager shillings he may leave in his wake. In reality, the jug she carried was nothing but several large plastic bottles on a plastic plate, while the inn was a small booth of drinks and cupcakes a few feet behind her.

"The throne." Korvus repeated softly to himself. He needed a plan. His eyes roamed the fair grounds for the castle, his mind attempting to fill in the blanks of his role. He needed a target and some leverage.

Elizabeth clapped for Sam, she had no concept of in tune or not, to her this was a game. Looking at the Black Knight, she made gasp and continued to hide this time behind the bard. "We shall go to the castle hurry before he gets us!" Taking Meggan's hand she started to tug. "This way."

Molly tilted her head to the side, her eyes widening. Did the girl's eyes turn white? Wait...was that supposed to happen? She knew they'd been talking that way before but they were kidding cause they'd speak normal after awhile but this...this was different. Maybe not good different. She frowned. It was like magic.

"Guys? Uh oh."

Quickly glancing around, Molly pulled out her phone. Amanda did magic stuff right? She didn't know Amanda's number but maybe one of the X-People did.

So she called the mansion, chewing on her lip as she waited for someone to answer the phone.
