renfair: Aftermath
Jul. 7th, 2012 01:08 pmIn the aftermath of Molly's defeat of Korvus Elizabeth releases the mutants from her spell and they meet her overwhelmed father.
Elizabeth Rose walked back towards the king's court towards her friends. "All done." Her eyes flashed white once more as the game came to an end. Elizabeth collapsed to her knees and sat back on them. Looking very tired and on the verge of passing out, she was struggling to stay awake but she was losing that battle.
Meggan paused as she took a step forward, unsure if someone should check on the little girl, while also wary of the chance of going back into working maiden mode for a second time. Even if—after accusing Korvus of being evil—she had only had the desire to try to serve everyone jugs of cool water, convinced it would be just as good as ale in the fight against the Black Knight. She looked around quickly, hoping nobody had actually been hurt during the time they weren’t themselves. Softly, to the closest person to her, she asked, “You okay, too, and not thinking like a Renaissance person now?”

"What the..." Sam looked down at his lute, scratching his head with his free hand. Had he been... no, singing wasn't something he did much of at all. Not even alone in the shower, since he couldn't even stand his own singing for very long. He looked around at the other people standing about, frowning in consternation. "I wasn't... I mean, not... you know..." Sighing, he just shook his head before noticing Elizabeth where she sat on the ground. "Oh, hey there, are you ok?"
Scott slowly massaged his head as he tried to make sense of what had just happened. "I just....what?" Had he really been acting like that, and speaking in old English, or at least in a form of old English. He glanced over to where Sam was checking on Elizabeth speculatively before looking over at the rest of the kids around him. "Is everyone ok?"
Her costume covered in dirt and grime, Molly dusted herself off as she dragged her sword behind her, trailing behind the others. She yawned and gave a thumbs up to Mr. Summers.
"Yep," she said, squinting to get a good look around. The sun was high and she'd lost her hat. Her hair moved with a light breeze as she glanced over at Korvus, making a face.
"Sorry I kicked your butt but you were evil."
Korvus looked down to Molly and smiled. "I am sorry I was evil."
"What..." Sooraya looked around, the world darkening and settling back to it's gloomy state. "What happened?" She still carried a platter filled with meat and her gown was stained with grass and fat. She looked around her and spotted Lorna. "Ms. Dane?"
Sharking her head as if a cloud had lifted from her mind, Lorna turned to see Sooraya. "I am fine." Giving her a smile and looking around. "Cats?" Looking around for her purple feline friend.
Sharon's tail lashed as her head cleared. She took a moment to puzzle things through in her mind, thinking on what had happened and how she wasn't completely sure what was going on, but that everyone seemed alright. Then she shrugged and swiped a skewer of meat from Sooraya's platter and chomped on it. "I'm alright. That was kinda fun. Except wrong. Very wrong," she added emphatically, just so the little girl didn't get any ideas.
Looking around, Nico threw her arms to the sky. "Praise Chtulhu! I promise to wear jeans and reduce my makeup for the rest of...well, two weeks." That little nonsense aside, she turned to the girl, on her knees, trying to discern whether it was a good idea to be mad at her or not. "You parents' names, kid?"
Elizabeth smiled tiredly at the bard, "I had fun. Tank you. " Minding her manners as she laid down on the ground. When asked what her parents names were, "Mommy and daddy." She replied before closing her eyes.
A harassed looking man came around the at a run a slightly panicked look on his face. "Elizabeth!" he shouted as he spotted the girl lying on the ground. He rushed over to the girl ignoring the various mutants in the area as he checked on his daughter. "What did you do this time?" he muttered softly.

Walking over to where the child was laying down and saw a man running, "Is this your daughter?" Lorna said to the man, "Seems like she had most of us believing we were from a fantasy land. I think we are all are okay." Looking around at her friends.
Zachary looked up at the sound of Lorna's voice, noticing the people gathered around for the first time. "Did she...I'm so sorry." he stammered out. "No-one is hurt are they? She doesn't mean anything by it she just gets carried away sometimes when she starts playing games. I'm so sorry." He looked around the group apologetically as he gently cradled his daughter in his arms.
"She's a mutant, isn't she?" Amanda didn't wait for an answer from the girl's father, but glanced over to the X-Men, namely Scott and Lorna. "She needs training. It's too dangerous for her to keep doing this."
Scott shook his head slowly, "She's too young to come to the school just yet," he mused before turning to Zachary. "We're from a school for mutants where they can come to learn to control their powers. You're daughter is too young to come with us just yet, But if you want I could ask the school's headmaster contact you. Perhaps he'll be able to help your daughter learn to control her powers while she's at home."
Zachary seemed to deflate in relief as Scott spoke. "I....I've tried to help her. I just don't know what to do. I don't understand what she's going through at all" The gratitude was plain to see in the man's eyes,
Walking up to the dad and looking down at the sleeping girl. "It is okay, not many parents understand children with mutations. But we will give you the information you need and one of us can stay in contact with you in the meantime with any questions you have, including the Professor...our headmaster."
Looking at the group, "Scott , Sam...mind taking people back home in case they had enough for one day? I'll stick around a bit longer until the fair closes and head back then. Anyone that wants to stay can get a ride back with me."
