Adrienne takes Tandy into town.

Tandy was wondering the halls of the mansion looking at the different pictures on the wall. She was still getting used to pretty much living in a place that doubled as a school and residence. Coming to one painting she tilted her head to the side to see if she could figure out what it was, she felt like one of those art critics for a moment as she pondered why someone would paint this and call it art. More like a mess.

Turning a corner she saw a familiar face at the other end of the hallway. "Hello Ms. Frost." Tandy waved at the woman who became her hero in like two seconds.

"Hello." Adrienne greeted Tandy with a smile, taking in what Tandy was doing with a raised eyebrow. "You know, the portraits here don't actually move like they do at Hogwarts, in case that's what you're waiting for."

"I know. Would be cooler than a splash of paint and then can it art." Tandy looked back at the paintings. "My room is bare with nothing on the walls so I came out here to look at something."

Adrienne gave her a skewed look. "Are you saying you want to put these paintings on your walls?"

"No..." Was Tandy answer to Adrienne and looked at the paintings. "But it is better than staring at a white wall. It is like watching paint dry...boring."

"You know, there's usually someone who drives a bus from here into the city on Saturdays so you students can go shopping," Adrienne told her conversationally. "Or..." since neither of them seemed to be doing anything at the moment, "I could take you to Salem Centre if you're not doing anything. They've got a cd-and-dvd shop that sells posters."

Tandy perked up at the offer of Adrienne taking her to Salem Center. "Really?" Maybe she said with a little too much excitement as it came out in a squeak. "I mean, I don't want to be in the way if you are busy or something?"

The psychometrist shrugged. "I'm not busy. It's summer vacation so no school, I've got a day off from X-Factor and there's nothing I can do at the clothes shop. I don't really know what to do with myself, honestly." Adrienne had never been good at being idle. "Wanna go on my bike or take a mansion car?"

"X-Factor? What is that?" Wondering if it was part of the supers that Layla was telling her about her first night here. "You have a bike? Like a motorcycle?"

"Yeah, like a motorcycle," Adrienne chuckled. "A kawasakii Ninja." She led the way down the stairs and out towards the garage. "X-Factor is a private investigation firm in District X. I help them out when I can. My powers are pretty well-suited to that sort of work. Of course," she added as an afterthought, "nothing I find out with my powers is admissable in court, so it's more just that I... consult for the team, to point them in the right direction in terms of evidence gathering."

Tandy eyes grew big at the mention of what type of bike Adrienne owned. "So you teach, work at a clothing store, a fashion guru, and you consult for a private investigation firm? How do you find time to have fun?"

"Those things are my fun," Adrienne answered, chuckling again. "I also don't sleep a lot," she added as an afterthought. "'Ever been on a racing bike before?" she asked Tandy, handing her the spare helmet.

"Your definition of fun is weird." Tandy said with a raised eyebrow, but she was smirking. "Sleep is like the best part of the day." Shaking her head no and took the helmet. "No, never. My mom is well...my mom and my dad is...busy. Though if I asked him he might have let me." Putting on the helmet on her head and looked out through the slot. "How long have you been riding?"

"Well, I didn't think it would be appropriate to tell you about all the time I spend at the pub in Salem," Adrienne responded with a grin. She pulled her hair into a quick braid and put her own helmet on. "I've only been riding for a couple years. But it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Here, put my coat on," she told Tandy, handing over her leather racing jacket. "It's armoured. I don't plan on crashing us, but as someone who's responsible for you, I figure I should make you as safe as possible." Of course she didn't have any boots or pants Tandy could borrow, but the jacket was better than nothing. It wasn't that far to Salem anyway.

Tandy returned Adrienne's grin with a smirk and left it at that. Taking the coat, she put it on and zipped it up. "It is the other people you have to watch out for." Tandy said, luckily she was already wearing jeans and boots. "How do I look?" Posing off for Adrienne.

"Very authentic," Adrienne nodded approvingly. "Okay I'm gonna get on and you get on behind me and put your arms around my stomach. Hold on tight. If you want me to pull over, kick the back of my leg or something." She sat astride the bike and kickstarted the engine.

Nodding, Tandy followed Adrienne's instruction and waited until after she got on before getting on herself. Wrapping her arms around Adrienne like she said, holding tightly, not sure what to expect. Tandy wasn't going to lie she was excited as a kid on a sugar rush.

Adrienne pulled out of the garage and down the drive, building up speed gradually, then turning the engine loose as she pulled away from the mansion grounds. She took the turns a little slower than she would have if she'd been travelling with an adult, but still felt the exhilaration she always did when she was on the bike. It was always a little bit sad pulling up to a stop, as it was this time when she cut the engine in front of the entertainment shop.

When they arrived she got off and took off her helmet. "Can you teach me how to ride when of these when I get a permit? Or whatever I need to get one?" Tandy had a look of awe and determination in her eyes. "'Cause that was...fun."

Adrienne pulled off her own helmet after she'd secured the bike and laughed. "When you get your learner's driving permit and take a motorcycle course, sure. I don't have my certification to teach them, but the courses are offered here at the mansion."

Putting the helmet on the bike and unzipped the jacket to cool off, "Sweet." Tandy said, but wasn't looking forward the classes for the motorcycle course. Her eyes looked over at the store they pulled up too. "What kind of music do you like?"

"I like a lot of different types of music," Adrienne answered with a shrug as she led the way into the store. "When I was your age I was into a lot of different things based on what was popular at the time. And I'm sorry I just did a 'when I was your age' line," she added, making a face at herself. Damn. The students were beginning to make her feel old. "I jumped on a lot of different bandwagons based on what was 'cool'," she continued. "Indie rock, ska, a lot of Britpop, heavy metal... I had a whole 'pop rock singer-songwriter' phase which led me to discover a lot of old folky stuff like Joni Mitchell and Cat Stevens... some hip hop and electronica. Alt-rock was big for me. When I got older I finally figured out what opera was all about so I started to really enjoy that. Mostly it depends on my mood, I guess."

Tandy laughed at Adri, "Yea you totally used that line." Tandy listened as she went off what she liked when she was younger and stuff she still listened to it. "I am pretty much the same way, but right now I am leaning to old classic Rock: The Rolling Stones, Queen, Led Zepplin, AC/DC. Van Halen... basically any music that makes my mom to come up to my room and tell me to turn down the music."

"Most of those are before my time... so now I don't feel so old," Adrienne answered goodnaturedly. "How about The Who? Pink Floyd?" Adrienne loved The Who.

"Yup. I have a The Who t-shirt, found it in a thrift store. And actual Pink Floyd vinyl. Ah who am I kidding, I have a full vinyl collection at home. I should bring it here since I like to listen to them often." Tandy looked around the store and walked towards the poster area. "Do you come here often?"

"I've actually never been here," Adrienne admitted. "I've just driven past it on the way to a fish and chips shop nearby. I mostly do the digital thing with music these days." At least that made her feel a little less old.

"Fish and chips sounds super good." Tandy looked over at Adrienne, "Digital thing?" She giggled a bit and walked towards the posters and started to rummage through them. "You are only as old as you feel."

"I like you," the psychometrist chuckled, "you are very wise. I just might buy you fish and chips after you pick out your posters."

"Bike ride, food, posters...this day keep keeps getting better." Tandy pulled out an old looking concert poster of the Beatles. "This one looks pretty cool."
