Log: Artie & Matt (backdated)
Jun. 15th, 2012 01:04 pmBefore Artie moves out, Matt talks to him and they make plans to hang with Korvus later in the summer. It's funny how they didn't much get along while living together, but want to hang now.
Artie was at that stage of moving where you removed all the cups and plates from your room and piled them in the sink, rather than in a pile on your desk. Some of them had been on his desk since before they'd been kidnapped. There was one Tupperware container that he'd reheated some spag bol in that was developing sentient life in its carefully sealed container.
"Did you make the kitchen smell like ass?" Matt asked walking into Artie's room without knocking. He didn't care. They had an understanding that he wouldn't bitch about the common rooms so long as it was kept reasonably decent. The smell right now wasn't even close to decent. It was rancid.
Artie shrugged and pulled out his synthesizer. "I don't know. Grew up in the sewers, remember? And I can't smell for shit." He paused consideringly. "Is this like, a hint that I should wash my dishes?"
"This is me telling you to wash them," he stated, arms across his chest, "You and Korvus are moving, but I have to stay, so you can at least leave it not smelling bad," he wasn't very close with either of his suite mates, but it was at least familiar and now they were leaving. He wasn't too pleased by it.
"I could have left them in here for the next guy," Artie offered before walking over to the sink and turning on the tap. He began to pile the dishes in even as he typed with one hand. "You get the place to yourself. Cool."
"I guess," Matt agreed, "Not sure how I ended up the only guy in the high school still, but....there it is. Guess that means I should have all the girls all over me," he smirked.
"In your dreams maybe", Artie replied, getting to work. "I was the only guy student here for a while, too." He could totally type one handed and wash the dishes with the other hand.
"Yeah? So?" Matt retorted, "You got the swag of a cutesy pink teddy bear! And that ain't what girls want!" He had no idea either, girls were a complete mystery to him. He liked them, but he never made a move, he was too scared that they'd laugh at him. Plus, no one seemed interested in him.
"Whatevs," Artie replied before adding "Dude, make sure you come down the hall to adult territory when you're not busy being grounded, 'kay?" It had taken going to Genosha to get things back on an even footing with Maddie. He'd rather just not go there for now.
"Why would I want to do that?" Matt asked, more joking than not, "Adult. That's gotta suck," except that none of them were really teenagers. All three, Matt, Artie and Korvus had had to deal with things well beyond their years that made them more adult than kids in a lot of ways. Sometimes, being a teenager caught in between was hard. "Anyways, Korvus and I are going to go to some concerts and stuff when I'm ungrounded. So you could come if you wanted."
Artie laid the last plate on the dishrack before turning and typing "Isn't that too loud for you? But yeah, sure, okay."
"Earplugs," he could wear them and still hear at a more-normal level. Without them it would definitely be too loud.
"Won't that flatten out the bass?" Artie asked. "There's a punk festival coming up. We should take Korvus to that."
"Not for me," Matt assured him. He could practically feel the bass in his teeth, even with earplugs. "And yeah, we should. Definitely. When is it?" because he was grounded for the summer.
"August, maybe?" Artie replied.
Matt thought for a moment, "Let's do it," he agreed.
