Angelo gets Sarah drunk (well, not exactly..) and then Shinobi wanders over to the bar. They talk about Jono and attracting attention, and Shinobi is the responsible one.

Angelo finished his current drink and, jumping agilely down from the podium where he'd been dancing, made his way over to the bar to get the next one. As he waited for his turn, he spotted Sarah off to one side, drink in her hand, and called out to her with a smile.

Sarah, hanging out over by the bar, had drained her drink in the time span of one song. Any other girl would have been under the table by now, but the bone-girl is only pleasantly buzzed. Abandoning her empty glass at the bar, she walked over to Angelo in line, boots squeaking slightly as she moved. "Hey."

Angelo grinned at her, himself not exactly sober. "Hey." Noticing that she'd finished her drink, he offered, "Want another? Cut on in here if you do."

"Yes." She pushed some hair out of her face and back behind her ears, hands coming to rest lightly on leather covered hips. Skillfully ignoring the grumbles of those behind them, she stepped in front of Angelo when the line moved, turning to talk to him while they waited. "But after this, I have to keep an eye on Shinobi. He's threatened to teach me to tango the next time I'm drunker than he is."

Angelo laughed. "Tango? In here? Well, it's one way to get attention..."

"Maybe not in here, but he'd find some place to do it. He's stubborn like that." She shook her head, with an amused smile on her face. "Of course, he doesn't have to do anything to attract attention. We walk around Manhattan and the picture ends up in every pretty-pretty magazine from here to Austrailia. I found that out the hard way."

Angelo raised an eyebrow, moving closer to the bar. "Oh? What happened?"

"I got recognised." She nodded, as if to reassure, yes, yes she really did. "Girl in the store wanted to know all about him."

Angelo burst out laughing. "You got recognised? Without Shinobi even there? Oh, that's classic. Perils of datin' the rich an' famous, I guess."

Sarah rolled her eyes. "Yeah, so why didn't anybody fucking warn me before?" She's still smiling though, so she's obviously not too upset about it.

They arrived at the bar, and Angelo ordered his drink before turning to ask Sarah, "What're you havin'?"

"Vodka." She replied, "No, make that two. Shinobi's far too sober for my comfort." She grinned, hopping up onto an empty barstool, a dangerous position for somebody in a skirt that short. "So, I hear you and Jono had fun at the last club outing..."

Angelo asked the barman for two vodkas, then turned back to her. "Who've you been talkin' to? Clarice?"

Sarah laughed and shook her head. "No, trust me, I don't think it's time to start sending out wedding invitations or anything. Helping him get drunk though? Sounds like fun to me."

Angelo relaxed, grinning. "Seemed like he needed it, after all that stuff with his folks."

"Yeah. Well, I'm sure you heard how I felt about all that..." Her legs swung slowly from the barstool. "I'm just glad somebody was here to be there for him."

Angelo nodded. "We try. Think it might even've helped us get on a bit better..." He paused, and added, "If I'd been there to actually hear what his dad said, I'd probably've done more than steal his credit card, t'be honest."

"His dad got quite the earful before he hung up on me." She shrugged, and leaned against the bar with her elbow. "Ah well, we move on I guess."

Angelo nodded again. "Guess we have to, sometimes. Probably helps he's got somewhere to go back to."

"Maybe." She ran a hand through her hair again, taking a moment to scratch around the horns. "Of course, I've got somewhere to go back to, and it doesn't make anything easier."

Angelo blinked. "You mean the mansion?" He paused, then conceded, "I can see how that could be, yeah." The barman put their drinks down beside him, and he paid and turned to give Sarah hers.

"Thanks." Sarah took the shots, putting one glass down on the bar before drinking her own. Her legs continue their lazy swinging vaguely to the beat of the music. "So. Have you been having fun in London?"

Angelo grinned suddenly, sharply. "Yeah. 's a really good place, but I think I like Brighton better."

"I didn't get to see much of London. But yeah, I think I agree with you." She picked up the other shot, and considered drinking it herself. Who knew when Shinobi would come back?

Angelo caught her look at the remaining shot. "I'll buy him one when he shows up", he told her. "Go ahead and drink that if you want it."

"Must be going blind," Shinobi muttered to herself as he ducked out of the crowd near the bar, running a hand back through his hair and peering over his shoulder. "Can't find Jono in this mess. You'd think he'd stand out."

Sarah shrugged, throwing the second shot back. "You realize you have to get him something twice as strong now?"

Angelo glanced over at Shinobi. "Just in time. Shinobi, I think I owe you a drink. Sarah just drank yours", he ratted her out, grinning unrepentantly.

"She does that," Shinobi replied with a wry grin, stepping over to claim a spot near Sarah and leaning over to kiss her cheek. "I'm alright for now, though. I'm am embarrassing drunk, so I think I'll skip it."

Angelo pulled a face at him. "You can stand up and walk straight. That's not embarrassing drunk." He picked up his drink and moved to a vacant bar stool.

Sarah shot them both a look of wide-eyed surprise, and put the empty shot glass next to her first one. Nuzzling Shinobi's neck, she waved a hand idly in Angelo's direction. "Nu-uh. You're not getting out of this."

Angelo rolled his eyes at her. "Okay, okay. Watch my drink", he told her, putting it down on the bar. "You want another one?"

She shook her head. "Nah. I think three in half an hour is enough to keep me occupied for a while."

Angelo nodded. "Fair enough. Shinobi? I've been told you have to have somethin' twice as strong as Sarah's. What'll it be?"

"Water," he replied dryly, giving the top of Sarah's head a Look. "One of us needs to be sober enough to guide the others back to the hostel."

Angelo laughed. "It's a straight road along the beach! How far wrong can we go?"

"Can walk north instead of south. Water."

Angelo shrugged. "Well. Can't force it on you. Water it is, then." He turned and made his way back to the bar.

Sarah found Shinobi's hand, face still as close to his as she can make it without falling off the barstool. "You're such a wuss," she teased.

"I don't want to be working off a hangover when I meet Rom tomorrow," Shinobi chuckled, smiling wryly and kissing the tip of her nose. "We're supposed to be encouraging her to let Amanda come back, not scarin' her off worse."

Giving him a little pout, she said "But I don't trust you when you're sober and I'm not. I know your plans."

Shinobi pouted right back, quirking an eyebrow in amusement. "Get you home, tuck you into bed, and read while I wait for you to sober up, you mean?"

"Right. I don't believe that for a second." She grinned, "You're evil. It's why I like you so much."

"I'm not evil, just.. selectively moral." He nodded sagely, flashing a smile as he dragged an empty stool over with his free hand so that he could sit. Much better.

Angelo chose that moment to return with drinks. "Who's selectively moral?" he asked brightly, handing Shinobi his water.

Sarah gestures over at Shinobi. "He is. Think's evil's too strong a word. I think it's perfect."

Angelo chuckled. "What'd he do?"

"Evil is misleading," Shinobi countered, accepting the water with a bow of his head in thanks. "I really am selectively moral, though. Only have 'em when I want 'em."

She shook her head and grinned. "Nothing yet. But he's sober, and I'm not. It won't be long."

Angelo sat down on his bar stool with a grin. "We should go watch the sun rise over the beach", he decided suddenly. "When this place kicks out."

"Christ, is it getting that late already?" Shinobi asked, shifting his water to his other hand so he could look down at his watch with a startled expression.

Angelo shook his head. "Not that late, no. I just meant, we should. Later."

Sarah nodded her agreement. "The sunrise is nice."

"I can't remember when I'm supposed to be taking Amanda to Rom's," Shinobi observed with a grimace, casting a glance off to the door. "Don't know how late I can safely say up."

Oh, there's that pout again. "Aw... Surely she's not going back at the crack of dawn. You'll be fine."

Angelo just leaned back and watched the two of them hash it out, drinking his drink, then pulled out his cigarettes suddenly, offering one to Sarah silently.

"I'll set an alarm, make sure I'm up before noon," Shinobi allowed with a sigh, nodding once as he brought his glass up for a drink. He eyed the offered cigarette with a brief quirk of an eyebrow, but didn't say anything.

Sarah gratefully took the cigarette. If there was one thing she didn't like about her skirt, it was the lack of available space for cigarettes. "Mmm. Thanks."

"No problem", Angelo told her, holding the pack out towards Shinobi.

With a mental shrug, Shinobi reached out to pluck a cigarette from the pack. "Ta." He shuffled things around to let him perch the cigarette between his lips, fingers dipping into his pocket for his lighter. Leather pants, yes, but he can't live without pockets.

Angelo struck a match to light his own, waiting wordlessly to see if Shinobi wanted it before putting it out.

Shinobi held up his lighter with a wry grin, taking a moment to get his cigarette lit before offering a quick "Thanks, though," to the other boy. And, of course, offered Sarah a light. Because that's his job.

"No problem", Angelo said again, putting out the match in an ashtray and taking a drag on his cigarette.

Sarah lit her cigarette from Shinobi's lighter, holding it in her free hand. "After this, lets go dance." she said, taking a deep drag from her cigarette. "I should probably do it now while I can still walk straight."

"I'm still rotten at your definition of dancing," Shinobi sighed, waiting to take his lighter back and return it to his pocket.

"But since I bribed the boys into helping me get you on the plane, I owe you a little self-humiliation, don't I?"

"Somehow I don't remember it being that bad..." She handed him the lighter, kissed him on the cheek. "Come on. It'll be fun."

"You were rather tipsy at the time," Shinobi observed, tucking his lighter away. "I'll do it anyway, though, don't worry."

"And so were you," she countered, grinning. "Good. I hate to have to drag your ass out there myself."

"I dragged your ass here, so it's only fair if I spare you the headache," Shinobi grinned.

"Yes. I agree." The words were accompanied by a finger poking his arm.

Angelo grinned, watching them. "You go ahead and dance", he told them. "I'll just finish my drink an' join you guys later."

Shinobi downed the rest of his water before setting the glass on the counter, and dropped his mostly-spent cigarette into an ash tray. "See if you have better luck finding Jono. He's probably itchin' for a drink in here."

Angelo nodded. "Will do - he's probably off in a corner somewhere. I'll find him."

Finishing her cigarette, Sarah managed to get off of the barstool without incident, putting her cigarette out and pulling on Shinobi's arm. She glanced back at Angelo and grinned. "Thanks for the drink."

Angelo grinned back. "Like I said before, no problem. You can buy me one some other time."

"Remind me to buy Paige a drink sometime," Shinobi mused innocently as he let himself be pulled to his feet, aiming a wink at Angelo before looking to Sarah. "Alright, then. All yours. Lead on."
