Clarice runs into Johnny and they discuss using him for a giant science experiment and accessories.

Johnny had found his way down to the kitchen (it was good to know that some things never changed) and had made himself a sandwich and poured himself a coke. He'd taken them outside and was sitting cross legged under a tree at the edge of the lawn, book in hand and headphones in.

Clarice was supposed to be going to Borneo, but she'd started packing and had decided that nothing she had worked at all. Ugh. Therefore, shopping. Instead of teleporting straight to her room though, she headed outside to see how everything worked by the pool. If it didn't, she'd take it back. The joys of not needing to catch a plane.

Spying Johnny, Clarice waved and tried on a hat to see if it would shade her appropriately.

He waved back and headed over. "Hey. Cool hat."

"You like?" She regarded it carefully, Alright, she'd keep it. It had personality. "What's up, Johnny? Couldn't resist the cult of Xavier's?"

"Well... it's very green." Girls liked green, right? Johnny shrugged. "Not so much couldn't resist as 'hey, my danger sense is kind of always on' and it was getting annoying. I figure if there's anyone who can figure out how to get it back to a sometimes thing, they're here." Also, it wasn't like he really had any money or anyplace to stay right now but so not mentioning that.

"Point," Clarice agreed. She reached out to poke him to see what it did. What? She couldn't help it!

Johnny's danger sense went off and he found himself ducking out of the way before he'd even registered what Clarice was doing and he let out a high pitched yelp.

"Okay, okay!" Clarice didn't try to poke him anymore. "That's kinda wacky. Kinda cool too. I won't do it again, but I kinda want to haul you up in front of my class and as a demonstration," her class was over though so that wasn't going to happen even if he agreed. And Clarice would understand completely if he didn't anyways.

"As a demonstration of what?" Johnny asked curiously as he tried to calm himself down again.

"Mutant powers gone weird," Clarice stated. "I'm in grad school and am basically our class mutant expert by obvious virtue. Except there are some things I can't demonstrate, like powers out of control like yours. We took finals the other day though and I'm off for vacation once I pack. And when I go back I go straight into clinicals, so there's no time to play show and tell."

"So I don't have to be your guinea pig while you throw stuff at me? Good. Where're your vacation?" Some of the parkour group had taken to throwing things at him for shits and giggles but only when they were on the ground. Apparently the screaming and flailing was funny.

"Borneo," Clarice replied, "And no, you don't. For now. Once I'm a PA, all bets are off."

"Borneo. Wow. That's a really long flight." Johnny scratched his head. "What's a PA?"

Clarice pointed at herself, "I'm taking the Clarice-Express," had he forgotten her so quickly? Well, they hadn't exactly been best buds when he had been here last, she'd been in college and busy. "And Physicians Assistant. I'm basically going to be a doctor, but bypass medical school and the fancy title."

Johnny blinked at her, dragging his mind back. He'd really been more interested in following Lil around last time he'd been here. Teleporting, maybe? "You can ...teleport? Or something? I didn't know you could do that, with the doctoring."

"Long range teleporter, yes," Clarice agreed with a nod, "I was just shopping in Houston. Great mall there," it was huge! "And yeah. Physician's Assistant. My specialty is emergency medicine. What about you? You're college-aged, right?"

"But. We're in New York. Why Houston?" Maybe it was a girl thing. "I'm kind of not going to college. I was a tree trimmer till last week, though."

"Big mall?" Duh. Clarice shopped the entire world, not just what was nearby, "Why not? I mean, you don't have to, but why?"

"Oh, you know." Johnny shuffled uncomfortably. "I didn't do too good at school and what's the point of spending all that money when I probably won't get my homework done or study properly for tests or do too good when I go college?" He'd tried. He really had. It just hadn't worked.

"Ah, yeah," Clarice nodded, understanding. "You should at least consider a trade or something then. Unless you're in love with being a tree-trimmer."

"I don't know... I mean, what sort of trade would I even do?" He sighed and tugged a hand through his hair. Only been here a few days and the careers counselling was already happening.

"Beats me," Clarice shrugged. "Ask a telepath that. I'm just telling you what you've already heard before because I've got no idea what else to say," she pulled a necklace out of the bag and examined it, "You like this?"

"I will." Johnny reached out and took it. "That's real pretty."

"I like it, too," Clarice agreed, then got up, putting it back in the bag. "Alright. I'm going to pack, even if I can just come back if I forget something," that wasn't the point, "You have fun. And don't do anything I'd do!"

"Will do. I think I'll go hang out in the gym for a bit," Johnny said. "Have a good trip!"
