Angel and Kurt and the trapeze. There's no way this can be anything but hilarious.

Angel was bouncing as she made her way down to the gym, humming contently. What better place to find something to do then the gym? If nothing else, there was probably someone in there who would be up for doing something. Or maybe she could find someone for a Danger Room run -someone who wasn't a certain leader who would put her through the ringer.

Kurt, perhaps predictably, had beaten her there. He was working on the trapeze, and so absorbed in it he didn't notice Angel come in.

Of course. Angel grinned as she leaned against wall, watching Kurt swing along. Part of her wanted to call out a greeting, but she didn't want to distract him. Sure, if he fell he could just teleport to safety. But it was still rude to make friends plunge to their apparent deaths. She'd just wait for him to finish, then.

After a while, he caught a glimpse of her and came to a halt, dangling from his feet as easily as if he was standing upright. "Good morning, Firestar."

"Morning," Angel called back with a grin. "How's it going?"

"Very well." He smiled back. "All going quite smoothly... and yourself?"

"Oh you know, can't complain. Just looking for distractions." She tilted her head at the trapeze. "Is that as much fun as you make it look?"

"I certainly think so, and have since I was very small. Would you like to try?"

Angel's eyes all but lit up at the prospect. "Yes! Can I?" Not that she didn't already know what it was like to fly, but it just looked like so much fun....

"It is here for everyone who wishes." Kurt grinned and teleported to the ground. "And since it is you, we will not even need to bother with the net."

"Oooooohhh." Angel was all but bouncing in her excitement. "Awesome! Let's do it!"

"By all means." He stood back with a flourish. "Fly yourself up there, I will follow."

"Going up!" Angel said happily, taking a couple of quick steps to give herself momentum before she propelled into the air (with possibly a little more flourish than what was strictly necessary).

Kurt headed for the ladder on the opposite wall rather than teleporting back up, smiling at her enthusiasm. "Have you ever done anything like this before, flying aside?"

"Um...just in the Danger Room. That probably doesn't count. No, not really."

"Well, I am sure you will be fine", he said with a grin. "And if you should slip, you can easily save yourself - just please try not to set fire to the ropes."

"I can do that," Angel assured him. "Or, not do that. Or...I won't set the ropes on fire, don't worry." She bounced a bit, eager to get going now. "Soooo how do we start?"

"Like this." Grabbing the trapeze from his side, he simply launched himself into thin air, twisting as he swung.

Angel watched him fly for a moment, amazement visible in her expression. Her fingers were wrapped tightly around the trapeze at her side, and after a moment she stepped back and launched herself off the platform, shrieking in delight as she flew.

Kurt watched and freed one hand to smack his tail into it in an approximation of applause. "It is the closest we non-flyers can come to it, without help."

The sight of Kurt applauding with his tail sent Angel into a giggle fit, and in her distraction her fingers slipped. "Oops!" She gasped as she caught herself mid-free fall. As soon as she touched back down on the floor, she started laughing. "That is soooooo cool!" She called back happily when she could breathe again, instantly flying back up to the platform to start again.

Kurt was laughing as he watched her. "I was first taught to do it when I was perhaps half your age, and never looked back. It is even better with an audience to react."

"Lucky," Angel breathed as she grabbed the trapeze again. "This must be sooooo much fun for a kid. Every kid dreams of being able to fly, right?" She pushed off again, paying careful attention to make sure she didn't fall again.

"They do." His mouth quirked wryly. "And some do things like jumping off the top of their caravan when their mother is not looking."

Angel laughed, barely keeping her grip on the trapeze. "You were the kind of kid who gave your mother a heart attack on a daily basis, aren't you?"

"A terror", Kurt agreed cheerfully. "A quiet shy terror, but even so. My brother was worse."

"Oh god," Angel groaned, grinning. "I feel like I need to sit down with you at some point and have a serious story time."

"That could be enjoyable. And I have a feeling you would get along very well with my younger sister in Germany."

"Really?" Angel twisted just the wrong way, and one hand slipped. She shrieked - though not out of fear - and managed to swing herself back to the platform, stumbling and falling as she laughed. "Oh my god that is awesome," she gasped as she sat up.

"Quite exhilarating", he said with a nod, swinging over to check on her. "The danger - or illusion of it - only adds to that. And yes, Jimaine is about your age and would happily share all kinds of stories with you."

"Ooooh, I wanna meet her," Angel decided at once, grinning. "Always fun to meet someone who can tell you embarrassing childhood stories about your favorite former teachers."

"And current teammates." Kurt grinned back. "I will take you to visit sometime, she rarely comes here... and I suspect I may regret it, but I can give as good as she does."

Angel tilted her head a bit, curling her knees under herself. "What do you mean?"

"My sister was born when I was old enough to help take care of her", was the easy response. "Meaning I remember, and probably witnessed, every embarrassing thing she has ever done."

"Hey, no fair telling me stories about her before I even meet her," Angel admonished jokingly. "What would she say if she knew her big brother was divulging every embarrassing moment of her life to people she doesn't know?"

"She would find some relatively harmless hex to put on me, I am quite sure." He chuckled. "But I have told you nothing yet, and I think I will keep them in reserve for revenge."

Angel giggled, shaking her head. "Siblings," was all she could say. Not that she had any herself, but she knew for a fact that her cousins had more than enough blackmail material on her.
