Backdated to November. Jean-Phillipe decides that Angelo hasn't been getting out enough since the events in Africa. So he takes Angelo out to dinner, and is incorrigible.
"I have actually been going out, y'know", Angelo said with a mixture of patience and amusement. "The dog still needs walking."
"Pah," Jean-Phillipe said dismissively. "Walking a pet does not count. That is...well, not a chore, precisely, but something that is required of you. Going out means making a decision to go do something for yourself." To be fair, he had somewhat bullied Angelo into getting dressed up a bit for a dinner in the city, but the other man could have said no.
"True, I guess", he allowed, swinging easily into step beside Jean-Phillipe. "So you got me in the good clothes and out, you gonna tell me where we're going now?"
"Eh bien, I suppose," Jean-Phillipe allowed with an amused smile. "There is a new steak restaurant that my cousin recommended to me, so I thought we could try it out." Marie-Ange was well aware of how much caloric intake his body took just to look fashionably slim and athletic, much less maintain the active lifestyle he did. So he tended to nearly as high-protein a diet as Kyle.
"Steak is good", Angelo agreed. "And Marie-Ange always does seem to dig out the best places before anybody else."
"Perhaps she uses her mutant power for it." Jean-Phillipe cocked his head thoughtfully. "Or perhaps not. My cousin has some odd ideas about what is proper, sometimes."
"I think it's just about the company you keep", he said with an amused shrug. "I know the Mexican community so I know where to get the good tequila. Angie knows Jubilee, so she knows where the food's good or not."
"A valid point." Jubilee could put away about as much as Jean-Phillipe at any given time, depending on which of them had been using their power more recently. The small talk continued until they reached the restaurant and were seated. "So, do I need to bully you to ensure you leave your apartment more?" he asked after they had placed their orders.
"Hm." Angelo gave him a slanted half-grin, with just a touch of flirt in it. "Maybe. But bribery and persuasion would also work."
Jean-Phillipe's replying smile, on the other hand, was all flirt. "Vraiment?" he asked as the toe of his shoe brushed up against the hem of Angelo's pants. "Shall we...open negotiations?"
Angelo's own foot slid forward to draw a circle around Jean-Phillipe's ankle. "Sounds like a plan. And after dinner, we can seal the deal."
"Well, that was simple," Jean-Phillipe observed as their drinks and appetizers arrived. "I was wondering how...hard of a bargain I would need to drive."
"You haven't made your offer yet", Angelo pointed out, popping a piece of shrimp into his mouth. "But I'm all for, ah... hard bargains."
"Well. I know exactly what I want for dessert," Jean-Phillipe said as he flicked his tongue along his upper lip.
