Maddie and Billy exchange kisses and declarations of love. Dramatically. (Backdated to Saturday, Feb 2)

Billy sat at the small table in their lounge, papers with an occasional yellow streak scattered all across it. The yellow highlighter in hand was uncapped; the cap was between Billy's teeth. He frowned at the lines on the paper in his other hand, and he let the highlighter drop, blindly feeling around for a pencil as he continued to read.

The door opened and through it blew a tornado of activity as Maddie made an entrance the only way she knew how. Backpack was sloughed off just inside the doorway with an unceremonious 'thud' as the redhead rushed in singing at the top of her lungs and over to the table where Billy was currently seated. "Hello dear," she announced in an over-dramatic fashion. She cradled his head in both her hands as she leaned in to plant a very (yes) dramatic kiss on his cheek with the accompanying "Mwah!" for added emphasis.

"Oh Billy," she slid into the seat directly across from him. "How happy I am to see you!"

Billy sat there, speechless a moment, the entrance catching him off-guard despite being caught up in the script. "Uh...hi. I'm glad to see you too."

Maddie pouted. "Why that's no way to greet your steady."

"Oh right...Dear," Billy added, blowing her a kiss. "I was just looking through my part. Still haven't got to the end, but you should help me study."

"Ahhhh." Elbows on table, chin resting on her fists, Maddie gave him a quizzical look. "Have you gotten to the scene where Kim and Hugo have sex and lose their virginities yet?"

"Wait, what?" Billy's eyes widened, frantically beginning to shuffle the papers in front of him. "I didn't know that was there. I'll never hear the end of it from my parents. Wait, maybe I just won't invite them. But they'll find out. They always do," he continued to ramble as he looked at each page, then tossed it aside.

Maddie was successful in keeping a straight face for several seconds as Billy panicked. He was so easy, which Maddie would have felt bad about taking advantage of were it not for the fact that it was so funny. The sight of him panicking was just too much, however, and Maddie was reduced to giggling madly. "There's no sex scene," she gasped out, still laughing. "Your face. I wish I had a camera. I love you, Billy. I do. But sometimes...."

Billy looked up and glowered at her. "Someday, I'm going to get you back, Madelyne Pryor. Just you wait."

The redhead positively glowed with satisfaction and fluttered her eyelashes in an obvious imitation of how a truly innocent person would look. "Oh Billy," she sighed dreamily and reached across the table to take his hand in hers. "You know you love me. And I you. In fact, there is no one else I would choose to be my steady."

Billy took her hand and leaned in, looking directly into her eyes, before replying, "You are too good at this. Scary good."

"I know, right?!" The dreamy love-sick schoolgirl voice was replaced with Maddie's usual bravado. She continued to hold his gaze, unblinking, daring him to blink before she. "And you're like totally awkward and a little spastic, which is exactly Hugo, except you don't get nosebleeds. This is gonna be so much fun!"

Billy continued to hold the stare. "Awkward and spastic. Gee, thanks. That's the nicest thing anyone's said to me all day." He stuck out his tongue at her, trying to get her to laugh.

It worked. Well, at least enough to chuckle if not burst out in laughter, and make her break the stare. She knew that he knew that he was a tad on the spastic side, but in a good way. Not in a Chicken Little way. "Your awkward/spasticness is totally endearing, Billy." She gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. "It's why I love you so. And I really am glad that we're playing opposite one another."

She paused, smiling, for several moments to allow the sincerity and affection in her voice to set in his mind. They had been through a lot together over the past half a year. They had fought side-by-side. He had taken care of her afterwards and brought her guacamole. They shared a bond that, to her at least, was stronger and deeper than any others she had forged outside of her family, save perhaps Clint, who had always been there too.

"Me too," Billy agreed. "I'm glad you made me try out. Even if it means giving up most my free time for the next couple months. We're going to be busy. But it'll be fun. And kinda cool to get to know some other people in the area. So..." he said, giving her a grin before taking his hand back, lest the situation start to get awkward. "When should we start practicing our song?"

"I'll get my laptop and load up the practice program," replied Maddie, pushing back her chair so that she could stand. "And some tea. I'll be right back. So don't go anywhere, kay?"
