Adrienne sneaks back into the base to get a message to the X-Men and searches for Garrison.

She might have been tentatively accepted as a member of the Brotherhood, but they clearly didn't trust her. For her part, Unuscoine looked vaguely apologetic as she keyed in the lock on the door for her room at the base. She'd spoken to both her and her friend Joanna - 'Frenzy'. They had expressed their zeal, but she got the feeling that real violence was something they were still getting used to. Still, one touch of the lock was enough to decode it and open the door.

By now she was pretty familiar with the base layout, and with some help from her powers Adrienne had learned the rotation of the 'lookouts'- the guards that patrolled Avalon. As such, she was calm and determined when the time came to make her escape through the locked door of her room at the base.

She moved swiftly but cautiously through the complex, skirting the medical bay and using her powers to decode the door that led underground to the heart of Erik's base, wondering where Garrison was now. It was eating away at her that she couldn't explain to him what she was doing: that the whole 'joining the Brotherhood' thing was a ruse to lessen their suspicion. She just hoped that bringing the cavalry in to save the day and avert crazy Erik's terrorist attack would make up for keeping Garrison in the dark.

Knowing that a guard would be walking by any minute, she opened a door using her powers and hid out in what appeared to be a supply room for a few minutes, opening the door a crack to slap a hand on the adjacent wall so she could make sure the guard had passed and that the coast was clear. She could see the door to the communication room up ahead and took a few deep breaths: this would be the hard part. This was where security got serious. Best to just do it fast, she told herself, and took a run at the door to the room, knowing she would be on camera in a minute.

Keying in the code only took a moment. The bank of computers looked imposing and foreign to her, but a swipe of the keyboards with her fingertips gleaned her enough knowledge to make her fairly confident that she could use the radio to connect to Xavier's. A quick touch of the monitor seat showed the person on rota would be gone for at least fifteen minutes, giving her time. Thanking Scott and Garrison for making her memorize the radio frequency the team used when she'd first started helping the X-Men, Adrienne tuned the radio and held the mic up to her lips.

There was time to repeat the message twice, and the coordinates four times, before the time she had ran out. She could hear movements outside, and slipped behind the door as it opened and the yawning Irina walked in, sipping a coffee. Fortunately, the woman was listening to her iPod, and didn't hear Adrienne slip out behind her.

Running on adrenalin, Adrienne hurried down the corridor, but not in the direction that would lead her out of the base. Instead, she headed towards Erik's secured area, swiping a hand along the wall every few feet, zeroing in on the timeline of Garrison's capture and detention. She followed the trail provided by her powers through the first secured room, avoiding the patrolling guards, and hurried down another corridor. Approaching footsteps had her retreating back to the main room, however. When the sound of them disappeared she emerged into the hallway again and kept on going forward.

The sound of Garrison's voice from around a corner stopped her again. He seemed to be speaking to someone. A guard?

"So, putting nukes in someone's backyard is going to-"

"For the last time, man, shut the fuck up! I couldn't fucking care if he blows up New York. Or that place in France, what's it called, Florence! Fuck Florence." The Kleinstock said in an annoyed voice. "I can't hear the commentary on RAW with you talking."

Rolling her eyes, Adrienne bit back a curse. Even though Creepy Erik had said she could visit Garrison, Adrienne didn't think it would do much good right now. She couldn't tell him the plan with the guard right there, and she didn't have anything to bribe him with to get him to leave. And if she couldn't explain herself... well, she didn't want to talk to him until she could. She didn't want to face him until she could explain everything and get him freed. Because if she just showed up now, just to talk, there was a chance he wouldn't believe her.

Even if she went back to the living quarters, found something to bribe the guard with, and came right back, what good would it do? The X-Men were still a few hours away. She could free him, but where would they go?

No, it was better to wait until later, when the X-Men would be arriving with their getaway... jet.

Biting back a sigh, Adrienne turned away from the corridor and retreated the way she'd come.
