Adrienne finally snaps and completely loses her grip on reality.

Restless, Adrienne was wandering the halls of the mansion. Tandy and Sue were doing homework up in the suite, and Adrienne felt it was important that when Tandy have people over she make herself scarce, wanting to make Tandy's rooming situation seem as normal as possible to both Tandy and those around her. Her peers didn't have to contend with adults in their suites all the time, so Adrienne didn't want Tandy to have to, either.

She'd already been to the gym, done some laps in the pool after doing some work on the speed bag and skipping some rope. And she'd been to the kitchen for a beer and a bag of chips, which would probably completely negate the work in the gym, but whatever. Beer, chips, and Sportscenter would help her take her mind off of Wyngarde messing with her.

Her wanderings took her over to the common room, which was surprisingly empty. She set her beer down on the coffee table and flopped down on the couch, opening her bag of chips as she did so. "Oh, fuck!" she muttered after she accidentally Read the bag of chips. The hand coating solution wasn't working anymore. Adrienne had to talk to Forge about it, because this was getting ridiculous. She had just put some of the damn stuff on when she left the gym! But this had been happening all the time lately. Forge was certainly going to be getting a piece of her mind, that was for sure!

She reapplied the hand coating solution and picked up her beer, taking a long pull from the bottle. Grabbing the remote, she turned on Sportscenter to get caught up, setting the remote down next to her on the couch, which, although she'd just re-coated her hand, led to her Reading the couch.

As she tried to pull herself out of the Reading, Adrienne saw various scenes from the couch's history going forward from its manufacturing. A scene with Tandy, Sue, and Clint hanging out on the couch caught her attention and she stopped struggling to break out of what she was seeing. They were horsing around while they watched a movie; Sue was hitting Clint with a pillow, Tandy was poking Sue in the ribs. She saw Clint trying to defend himself and laughing, Sue tickling Tandy, Tandy putting her head on Clint's shoulder as she drowsed near the end of the movie. Weren't they all just too damn cute?

The scene jumped again, but this was anything beyond cute. This was... whoa. This was Tandy on top of Clint, naked, riding him like a pony. Or was it Sue? They were both blonde and from the angle Adrienne had she could just see the girl's back and legs of the guy, his face blocked by the angle of the girl's body. The second naked girl was positioned over his face, facing the first girl, but again, the angle wasn't right for Adrienne to see her face, either. And she certainly wasn't going to stick around in this Reading long enough to find out who was who. That really wasn't the point here. Adrienne suddenly wished her brain would overload with the traumatic images, the way it used to before the Professor had put the psionic circuit breaker in her head, to get her out of this.

But luckily she could rip herself away, finally. She took another swig of her beer to steady her nerves, although what she really wanted was for the alcohol to bleach her brain of what she'd just seen.

She considered just letting the whole thing go. It was just sex, after all, right? And everything seemed on the level- no one looked like they were being forced into anything.

Except, maybe she should go talk to them anyway. Just to make sure they'd been safe and to remind them to keep that sort of thing to their rooms all that adult stuff. Wouldn't that be a fun conversation? With a sigh, Adrienne headed up to her suite. Maybe Sue would still be there, and she could talk to them both at the same time. Two birds with one stone.

Sure enough, Sue was still there when Adrienne let herself into the suite. "Heeeey, ladies. I need to talk to you. It's about what happened on the couch. With Clint." She was really hoping they'd know what she was talking about so she didn't have to spell it out for them.

Tandy had given up on homework awhile ago and was watching some random show on the television. When Adri came into the suite and asked what happened on the cough Tandy sighed. "I am sorry Adri...we tried to get the hot chocolate out of the sofa...but we couldn't." It was that right? "I turned the cushion over so you wouldn't see the stain."

"It totally wasn't our fault though," Sue piped up with a wry smile, "When they said that the movie was a side-splitter we didn't actually expect to collapse in laughter while holding drinks." she owned up sheepishly. "We were totally planning on getting it cleaned as soon as we had a chance."

What the hell? "Uhh... I'm not talking about a... hot chocolate stain." But now she had the mental image of other types of stains on the couch and made a face. "I'm talking about the sex."

Tandy's face went blank as she stared at her soon-to-be guardian before she shook her head in disbelief. "Wait you think I had sex with Clint on the couch?" Hoping she was hearing this right.

Sue twisted in on her spot on the floor to stare at Tandy in disbelief, "Hold on, you had sex with Clint and you didn't tell me?"

Okay, apparently they were going to play dumb and make this more awkward for her. Awesome. "Look, let's skip the charade, okay? I know the two of you were both involved. I saw you. With my powers. Having sex with Clint. I'm not angry or anything," she tried to reassure them, "so there's no need to lie about it. I just think it's inappropriate for you to be doing... what you did, in the common room, where anyone could walk in. That's all."

"What? No, I didn't have sex with Clint. And ew I didn't have sex with Sue. No offense Sue." Looking at her best friend. "Isn't that what the bedrooms are for? I mean if I was going to have sex at least I would make it a little more romantic than doing it on the couch." Looking down at the couch and them jumping over it and shuddered. "Now I have a mental image...what was seen cannot be unseen." Looking over at Adrienne. "Why would you say that? I mean I like Clint and everything but I don't think I am ready for that. I can't even kiss the guy because of a pact I made with Maddie cause we are in that musical. Superstitious thing."

Sue looked a little lost as she looked back between Adrienne and Tandy, "You saw me...us having sex with Clint. Ewww, no!" she exclaimed in shock standing up abruptly "I mean he's hot and all, but he's Tandy's boyfriend!" she pointed out nodding apologetically at her friend. "Why would I wanna have sex with him? That breaks like all the rules of the friend code." Sue turned to face Adrienne angrily, "How could you even think something like that?" she demanded, Sue looked up to Adrienne, but to have her just come in and accuse her like that was almost more than the blonde could take.

"Because I saw you," Adrienne replied, not sure why they were still lying about it. "I saw you with my powers. And no, I haven't been hit on the head, and no, the illusionist I pissed off hasn't been located, so it's not like he's making me see things that aren't real. This is real, and I really don't know why you two are bothering to deny it. You have nothing to be ashamed of, as long as you used protection, so don't lie to me about it, okay?"

"You think Clint's hot? We will talk about that later." And she turned her attention back to Adrienne. "I am not lying! After not telling you about the whole power stuff I think I pretty much learned my lesson on lying to you. I am a virgin! 100% virgin! I swear it on the Virgin Mary herself."

"I don't know what you think you saw, but I'd remember if anything like that happened." Sue objected, "I'm with Tandy; there is no way I'm ready, no where near ready to even start thinking about having sex."

Adrienne's head was pounding, and she put her hands up to it as she shook it. "No. I know what I saw. I saw it. I saw you, both of you. I... oh no. Oh shit. Oh shit oh shit!" She looked over at the girls, green eyes wide with fear. "Someone's playing with your memories! Someone's making you forget!" She started forward, grabbing for their arms. "Someone did this to you. They made you have sex and now they're hurting you by making you forget!"

"I don't know who would play with my memories...don't they have wards around the mansion to stop things like this? And if I had sex Adrienne, I would probably ask you if you had a condom, just in case." Tandy shivered a bit, now she never wanted to have sex. This was too weird.

"Why would anyone want to pick on us anyway? We're nobodies, just students here," Sue pointed out, "it doesn't make sense for someone to target us, even if they could get past all the wards and telepaths here. Besides wouldn't someone have noticed if anything like that had happened?" she asked shooting a worried glance at Adrienne.

"I noticed," Adrienne answered, taking one of Tandy's arms and one of Sue's and gripping them tightly. "I know what's going on. Listen, you're in danger, but it's okay. We're going to figure out who's doing this to you and we're going to stop them. We're going to-" something on the wall behind the teenagers caught her eye and she looked past them, staring at it. "What... what is this? Where are we? I thought this was our suite," she said, looking back at Tandy. "This isn't it. This isn't my suite." It looked like a... a prison cell.

She let go of the girls' arms and went to the wall, putting her hands on it. "It's a prison cell. We're in prison," she informed them, trying her best to stay calm, for their sakes. "Okay, look. We've been kidnapped, and they're playing with our memories. But it's okay. I'm going to get us out of this. First, we need to figure out where exactly we are. How can we get out of this cell?" She glanced around, but the walls were solid concrete and sheer; windowless, the steel door containing just a tiny peephole and a food slot at the bottom. She went over to the door and started pounding on it. "Let us out of here! What do you want with us?!"

Tandy expression changed from anger to confusion. "Shit..." She whispered. "Adrienne this is our suite." She pulled out her cellphone. "Adrienne we are at the mansion. We aren't in prison." Shooting a worried glance at Sue.

Sue grabbed for Adrienne's arm pulling her away from the door and towards the couch, as she traded worried looks with Tandy. "Nobody's keeping us trapped anywhere," she told the teacher pulling the door open to show her. "It's just us here. Are you ok?"

Adrienne screamed when Sue opened the door. A guard had just walked into the cell. For a split second she thought he looked familiar, that she might have seen him somewhere before, but then the thought was gone. "Don't hurt us!" she pleaded, "please! They're just kids! What do you want from us?! Who are you working for?!"

"I think that was a bad idea Sue." Tandy said starting to get very frightened. "Adrienne! Nothing is there. We are in our suite...the one we share together. Cartoons are playing on the screen." Hoping to get to Adrienne, Tandy was starting to think the adult wasn't playing but something was wrong.

Sue glanced at Adrienne, concern writ all over her face. "Who're you talking to Miss Frost? There's no-one there." she asked her voice echoing the worry in Tandy's. The teenager turned to her friend, "Maybe you're right, what's going on with her?" she whispered.

Adrienne wasn't paying attention to what the girls were saying, more concerned with shielding them from the guard she saw coming into the room. She put herself between the girls and the perceived threat, then began stepping backwards towards the far corner of the room, trying to herd the girls away like a mother hen herding chicks. "Stay behind me, girls. I won't let him get you."

Tandy moved back and looked at Adrienne like she was crazy. "Sue...I have to get Mr. Kane. He'll know what to do. You think you can handle her?"

Sue glanced at Adrienne and nodded, "Go on, I'll figure out some way to handle her till you and Mr Kane get back." The teenager turned back to Adrienne, reaching out for her arm. "Miss Frost there really isn't anyone there, you're starting to scare me. See it's just us alone in here. Why don't you sit down for a bit, please."

Staring at Sue when she took her arm, Adrienne blinked several times and looked up at the girl. There wasn't' any guard in the room anymore. He must have left. And where had Tandy gone? "Sit down where?" she asked, scoffing. "We're in a concrete cell. And the guard just took your best friend. And there's nothing we can do about it." She didn't remember the guard taking Tandy away, though. She didn't remember trying to stop it. Why didn't she remember that?

Tandy had ran out of the room and down the hallway, wait where was Mr. Kane's room? Coming to a complete stop and took a deep breath, her skin was glowing and her crescent moon appeared over her right eye. "Calm Tandy calm." She ran down the hall and saw the man she was looking for, luck was on her side.

"MISTER KANE!!!!" Tandy yelled and stopped in front of him out of breath. "Come quickly...Adrienne...she isn't doing to well. I think something is wrong...really wrong. She is in our suite...starting freaking out saying she saw things and now she thinks our room is a prison cell...all bad..."

Kane opened the door. He was in an old Leafs t-shirt and a pair of boxer shorts with purple raptors printed on them. He was holding a bowl of Cheetos, and a smear of orange cheese ran from one corner of his mouth to the collar of his shirt.

"Mmmph?"

Gross. Maybe she said that way too fast. She would try again. "Mister Kane! Adrienne is freaking out! I don't know what to do. Sueiswithherrightnow. Youneedto come now!!!!" The blonde was pretty much yelling and freaking out again.

"OK,calm down. Down." Kane flicked a Cheeto at her, which bounced off her forehead. "Enough. What's up with Adrienne?"

Tandy looked down at the ground at the cheeto that her teacher just flicked at her. She couldn't believe that he did that, but it did get her calmed a bit. But now she had to repeat herself again. "Adrienne...is freaking out. I never seen her like this before. She thought she saw a guard when no one was there."

"O-K. Has she been drinking?"

"Uh...I don't think so. I think it has something to do with her powers to be honest. She kept insisting that we did something cause she 'saw' it but we never did what she said we did."

"So what did she say you did what you say you didn't do?" Kane turned and put the bowl back on his side table.

"Whatever you and her do when you are BBQing, that. With Sue. And Clint. Together. On the couch." Hopefully that would be enough information to never ask her again. "Please come Mr. Kane."

"Wait, Adrienne thinks the room is a prison cell, and that you, Sue and Clint had a threesome on the couch. You sure that hasn't happened, Tandy? No judgements, but Adrienne can see past, present and future with her powers." He tossed the bowl back on to the sideboard and grabbed a pair of jeans to pull on. "Alright, show me where she is."

"I am pretty sure. I am 100% sure that hasn't happened yet." The blonde nodded and started to lead the way to the room she shared with Adrienne. Opening the door all the way. "Sue? Adrienne?"

Adrienne's head snapped up when the door opened. She could hear Tandy's voice asking for her and Sue, so she figured the guard was bringing her back, and sprang into action to attack him.

Except it wasn't a guard. It was Garrison! Maybe he was coming to rescue- "holy shit! Your arm!" she cried out, rushing over to him. "You're a prisoner too, and they ripped off your arm?! Again?! What the fuck?!"

"Ripped-? Tandy, call Dr. Grey in the med-lab. Tell her that I'm bringing Adrienne down." Garrison reached out, trying to gentle her. "Babe, no one ripped off my arm. This isn't Genosha, and the kids are safe. We're all safe."

What the fuck? She couldn't see an arm, but she felt one touching her. When she put her hands on his, she could feel his skin on her own. But... how could that be? She poked his hand with her thumb. Definitely real. But why was she seeing him without his arm? He looked like he had when she'd seen him in the Reading she'd taken of his car, when she'd seen his arm ripped off. He looked exactly as he had then.

She was seeing an old Reading.

But why was she seeing an old Reading now, right in front of her eyes? It was a terrifying thought. Her throat went dry and her eyes wide with the realization that it was an old Reading she was seeing. And she had no idea how to stop it. "What the fuck is going-" Her eyes rolled up into the back of her skull and the lashes fluttered shut as she suddenly went limp.

Kane shot forward, catching her before she could fall. With his strength, he was easily able to scoop her up, thumbing open one eyelid and seeing the lack of focus. This wasn't a swoon; Adrienne was unconscious and deeply so. With the suddenness, it opened up a number of possibilities and none of them were good.
"Tandy, get the medlab on the phone now! I'm on my way down." He turned towards the door, making sure that the young woman was on the phone, warning ahead.

Tandy went for her phone and put in the number for the medlab and followed him out of the suite. "Hey Doctor Grey? We have an emergency...."

---
Jean tried very hard not to pace. The examination room bed was ready, equipment carefully placed, prepared for any eventuality Jean could think of.

The medlab had almost everything a mutant needed in a medical crisis. If they didn't have it they could get it in days, even hours if they were lucky. Next to Muir Island, it was one of the few places in the world suited to help a person with mutant abilities.

Jean's stomach churned, as it often did when this sort of thing happened. Fear of the unknown, of worry of whether or not long moments and swift hands, despite her best efforts, might result in a bad ending. They said it was good to be afraid, perceived perfection was a sign of weakness. But sometimes she wished she had all the answers.

She could feel them coming even before she heard the squeak of the elevator and the quick pace of Garrison's shoes. The doors opened ahead of him.

"How long has she been unconscious? How long did she seize?" she said. Despite the storm brewing in her heart she tried to keep calm on the outside. Upsetting the patient's loved ones was never a good thing. She had to think this way. She was not Adrienne. He was not Garrison. It was the patient and her boyfriend. She had to play the professional now.

It was the description of Adrienne's 'fluttering eyes' that was the signal. Unconsciousness following a seizure was not good. Not good at all.

"Minutes ago. The girls said she was raving about being in a cell, and when I got to the room, she thought I was still missing my arm, from when I was attacked by Sabretooth. She's been... seeing things for weeks; old readings, past events, the future sexual history of her students. When she first came to the mansion, she had similar issues with control - she'd just flash on things." Kane said, setting her down on the medlab bed gently, as if she was a delicate structure, made of glass.

Grabbing a flashlight from her coat pocket, Jean lifted one of Adrienne's eyelids and shined a light. "Her pupil reaction time is fine. She doesn't seem to be seizing anymore," she said, mostly to herself, but some to give Garrison some comfort that she was actually trying to make a determination. She moved to check Adrienne's pulse.

"The girls? Tandy and...? Did they say what set her off?"

Thinking she was in a cell seemed different than anything Adrienne herself had described before. Perhaps she held something from Genosha?

"It's been scattershot. When I got there, it was a missing arm and them still being in a cell in Genosha. Before that, she apparently accused the girls of having sex with Clint on the couch. According to them, they haven't, but again- Adrienne's powers sometimes get the future as well, eh? I didn't ask if Adrienne was seeing the end of Prom Night 2015." He moved to get out of Jean's way as she moved around Adrienne. "She's been seeing things that aren't there for weeks now, Doc. And up until then, her control had been getting better."

Jean quirked a brow. She wouldn't really have expected the students to have a threesome on the couch in a public area regardless of what year it was. Charles wouldn't call for it if he found out. And he usually did.

She shook her head. "I know," she said with quiet frustration. It was a damn mystery.

"Her respiration's fine. She should be waking up by now," she said. After a moment she grabbed some smelling salts and waved them under her nose....nothing. She stood there for a few moments, staring at the woman almost too long.

"I'm sorry," she said, sympathetic but firm as she threw the smelling salt away. She straightened her jacket.

"I'm going to have to ask you to leave. I need to call Haller."

"You need to give me more than that, Doc." Kane held up his hand. "Because right now, my first call should be her sister, and suddenly that's a lot of questions you'll have to answer if all I can say is that I have no idea what you're trying."

Jean glanced up. "She's just had a seizure and she's not responding to external stimuli. I tried to probe her mind and I almost couldn't. It's like it's...dense. She's got a huge wall up. I can't describe it any other way than that. There's something seriously wrong. It seems to be psychically based, not physical. Tell her to come, right now. But I can't wait on her to get here. If Adrienne seizes again....and keeps seizing, she could get brain damage, or worse. Amelia's gone, I need to be here to monitor her physically but I need a telepathic assessment. Haller's got experience with this sort of thing. And if I have you in here freaking out on me it hinders me from doing my job. Good enough?"

"I think freaking out is a little strong a term. But I'll let her know." There was part of Kane that had flipped into professional mode. He was worried about Adrienne, but he knew that breaking down wouldn't help her now. He needed to get the information out to the right people, make sure all the pieces that could help her were properly lined up, and if all that failed, then he could lose it.

"If I let you stay you might," Jean said. This wasn't some innocent bystander on the street, or even the teammate he barely knew. This was the woman he loved. She'd been on the other side of that conversation, waiting to find out if the person she loved would be okay. It didn't go well. For all she knew he might not have, but she wasn't sure. And she'd rather take precautions.

"Thanks."
