Lorna heads over and opens the lock box that Bishop finally obtained and go for drinks afterwards.
After receiving a call from Bishop saying he got the box, Lorna was both excited and a little nervous. She was finally going to learn what was hidden in that box after almost 29 years. "Bishop?" The green haired woman entered the office as she put her hands into her pocket to hide the fact she was shaking a bit.
The detective was sitting at the front desk, the lock box and two mugs of coffee in front of him. The meeting was scheduled while the office was otherwise empty so she wouldn't have to worry about anyone else overhearing something private. "Come on in and have a seat." He offered a smile. "Everything's hear and ready when you are."
Lorna took a seat at the desk and looked at the lock box, "I can't believe you got it. Not that I doubted your skills, but still." Without moving, the box moved closer to her and as it did so it opened. "No going back right?" Looking into the box to see letters, papers and an edge of a picture. Reaching in she pulled out the picture slowly. "Woah."
Bishop watched curiously. He probably should have let her have some sort of privacy but he was simply too interested in the results. His work lured him in.
Lorna looked at the picture for a moment longer before turning it towards Bishop. Holding it out so he could see it clearly before asking, "Who does this look like to you?"
The large man leaned in, his shadow cast across the desk as he looked closely. "I've only seen pictures but add a very odd helmet and I think you have a young Magneto." The similarity between Lorna's powers and Magnus' didn't pass Bishop's mind unnoticed. "You want that coffee Irish?"
Looking back at the picture and squinted her eyes a bit before putting the picture down and looking at the rest of the things inside of the box. "I think I would take you up on that offer."
Bishop leaned back in his chair, pulling a drawer open to produce a bottle of Maker's Mark. He pulled the lid off each cup and dosed them both with a liberal amount before stirring with a little red straw, then closing them back up. He stayed quiet otherwise, watching Lorna as she processed.
"Thanks. I just can't believe I am still seeing this. But thank you Bishop - for doing this." Looking up at the man before taking a sip of her improved coffee. "You can send me the bill or however you want to handle it."
He was quiet for a moment before nodding, "You have someone to talk with? You're welcome to stay here for the day or we can go out to get drunk." Bishop might not have the healthiest coping mechanisms but they were the ones common among cops.
"Well I'll have to tell Wanda but going out and having a couple of drinks does sound tempting." Putting the stuff back into the box and closed the lid. "Bar nearby?"
Bishop nodded, "There is. I'm sure Wanda will vouch for me." He offered as a slight joke. Some people didn't want to joke after bad news but other needed nothing more. Lorna seemed like she'd be the kind to joke.
Lorna chuckled and put the box into her bag. "Well let's go. I'll by the first three rounds."
