Lorna is leaving when she bumps into Remy and spills the beans. Remy isn't too sure and asks her to do a re-test.
Lorna walked down the steps of the X-Force after a private meeting with Wanda it had been an eventful meeting to say the least. Looking in her purse she realized she forgot her phone, "Well poop." She stopped walking and began to turn around to head back towards the building that she just left.
"Dat was de worst attempt at swearing Remy heard in ages."
"'Ello Remy." Lorna looked up to see her ex nearby. "You should hear me when I really get going."
"No doubt any number of Disney feature writers would keel right over in shock from it. Dere might even be de odd 'darn' and 'heck' to warp young minds."
"Parents will tell their kids to watch out for the potty mouth girl." Lorna said as she approached the door that lead inside the building.". Forgot my cellphone inside."
"Dropping by for a visit? Something going on, Lorna?"
Lorna hesitated for a moment and looked down at the ground. "Came to see Wanda. We...did a sibling DNA test." Looking at him again and smirked, "Long story."
"Sibling DNA?" Remy said as they walked up the steps and he pulled open the door. "Wait- Remy thought dat it had been clear dat de whole 'daughter of Magneto' business was crap."
Lorna walked inside and rubbed her brow, "Yeah, I thought so too. But when you find a picture of a young Magneto in something that belonged to my birth mom...you begin to question things."
"Dat's... information dat we didn't have before." Remy stopped and took her by the upper arm, stopping her at the door. "Is dis for real, Lorna?"
Lorna looked at him, "I got the test results back. That's why I was here." Pulling out the envelope from within her purse. "Shit just got real Remy."
"Something isn't right about dis. De timing is just too convenient. After years, now it suddenly shows up? Who did de test?" It was quick to jump to the idea that this was an elaborate setup; it had the reek of Mystique all over it.
"We went to DNA testing laboratory. Are you saying that I am being played again? Remy?"
"It could be. Magneto's been in hiding for years, gets his ass kicked off his own private island, and den dis information pops up? Remy don' like coincidences and dis is a big one."
"Okay. You win. We can re-take the test. But if it is a big coincidence I would like to know how the hell they got a picture of a young Magneto into a lockbox that hasn't been opened in thirty years and then plant the key in my parents attic in a box with her hand writing. You figure that one out and I will cook you dinner for a year."
"Remy didn't say it was absolutely a trick. But remember, Lorna, Magneto had an awful lot of access to you memories. It's not outside de realm of possibility dat he'd plant a forgery, just in case it proved useful down de road. And he's got de people and resources to make dat happen wit'out seeming out of place." The Cajun's look was intent. "You need to protect youself and be sure. Go to Moira. Get her to run de tests. You know he can't get to her."
Lorna rubbed her brow again, it was painfully obvious that she was upset with the idea that he was still messing with her. "Not sure what he will gain for doing all this. I mean Malice is gone and he knows I will not work for him...ever. I think that was obvious when he attempted to kill us on his island. Go to Moira?" If anyone knew Lorna's both personal and health history better than Lorna herself, it was Moira.
"Magneto plays dis game wit' de long term in mind. Even if it just confuses you, it could be to his advantage." Remy sighed. "It might not be anything, Lorna. But Remy paid to be suspicious of everything. Just- if it's true, better to hear it from Moira and be sure, neh?"
"True but I still don't think I am high on Magneto's 'To Fuck With' list. And even if I am, I still don't see what he will get out of it. It is not going to change who I am or make me turn over to the dark side."
"You don't think dat compromising you, even a little bit isn't worth it to him?" Remy put a hand on her upper arm, stopping to face her. "Lorna, of all de people in de world, de only one dat comes anywhere close to being able to do what Magneto can do - to learn what Magneto can do is you. If he's smart, and we know he is, you're at the top of his threat list, underlined in dat Sharpie. All it takes is enough doubt dat dere's a chance of you hesitating at de right time dat buys him an extra second, and its worth it. Dat's why I want you to be careful. You might not believe it, but as a threat, dere aren't many X-Men in you class."
Lorna opened her mouth to speak but closed it since she was lost for words. She really didn't believe that she was that much of threat to Magneto and really what was there to gain if she was his daughter? Hesitation? No, that wouldn't happen. "You think too highly of me, Remy. But I'll go and see Moira to get it done by someone we trust."
"Good. No sense taking risks dat you don't need to."
"Either case, I'll let you know the results."
"Bein. How 'bout Remy buy you a glass and wine and you can tell me all about de non-paranoia inducing things in you life, neh?"
"Sure. I am always down for wine and good company.Just let me get my phone first."
