"What in the world is this..." Hope's voice trailed of as she turned around her. What had been a smooth wall, now had pillars in front of it and... "What is that creature?"
Molly looked around, mouth open like a fish. "Dude," she said. It didn't look like a cave anymore, more like some kinda room like....in a pyramid or a Greek temple or something with these weird statues that didn't look normal.
"Can pirates do magic TOO?"
Frank stopped, glanced around at the now-cavernous room, and went wood without thinking about it. "I think this came before the pirates, Molly," he muttered, walking very slowly into the room and eying up the statues nervously.
"I think this might be even pre-Roman. Or even older then that." Hope eyed one of the pillars, remembering her lessons in art history. "But something tells me this is not good..." She spoke in a low voice to Frank.
Frank nodded without replying, his eyes moving warily from statue to statue. This was seriously too weird for his tastes. "You think maybe we should head back?" he asked Hope quietly.
The room echoed, and, even if Molly couldn't hear what was being said she knew they were still talking, all quiet just for that reason.
"I'm here too," she said with a frown and a little sigh as she hunched her shoulders. The grown ups and the older kids always whispered around her, like they needed to protect her. Just cause she was young didn't mean she couldn't help, though. She was unsquishable.
"I think that would be a very wise idea indeed." Hope answered Frank, already looking around to see where her other fellow students had gone of to. She caught sight of Molly frowning at her and smiled at her. "Why don't you alert a few of the others and we all head out. Frank and I can get a few people also..."
Molly made a face. "Okay," she said quietly, then sulked away to find the rest of the older kids.
Frank watched her go, wincing. "I... think we could have handled that better," he muttered to Hope, before glancing around again. His eyes settled on one of the statues. They seemed... wrong, somehow. Unconsciously, his wooden hands clenched into fists.
