Clint stops by Yvette's office to ask about Red-X.
Clint stuck his head through the open doorway to see who was inside, then let the rest of himself follow. "Um... Miss Petrovic?"
Yvette looked up from the computer she was working at, the keyboard covered with a layer of Yvette-proof fabric with the letters printed on it. She smiled at the younger boy as she saw him peering in. "Hello, Clint, come in. Can I help you?"
"Hi, yeah. I just... I was wondering, do you have time for me to ask you some questions about Red-X?" Clint knew about the program in vague terms, but he was interested in finding out more about it.
"I always have the time to talk about Red X," the Albanian replied, perhaps a bit eagerly. It was good to see some interest in the program. "Have the seat - would you like something to drink?"
"Cool - and no thanks. I'm good." Stepping farther into the room, Clint asked, "Is Red-X something students can get involved with?"
She waved him to a seat on one of the other office chairs, spinning in her own to face him. "It was created for students," she replied, kicking herself a little. Since the newcomers didn't know about the program's parameters, perhaps she needed to do a better job of promoting it within the school. "Any mutant student, between the ages of 14 and 19, is able to join as a volunteer. After that, if you still want to be part of things, you can sign on as the team leader and receive the extra training, or take part as a supervisor of the younger members."
"Cool," Clint said, nodding. "And it's basically like the Red Cross, only we help with our powers and stuff where we can?"
"Exactly," Yvette replied with a smile and an answering glow of her eyes. "It is the joint project with the Red Cross, so we are covered by their rules and insurance and such, and we learn not only how to use our powers to help, but other things, like first aid and communications."
Clint nodded. "So do I have to sign up somewhere specific? Cause I really like the mission statement and everything." He smiled. "I'd like to be able to help people."
"I can sign you up now," she replied, possibly a little eagerly. "The next training session is the end of the month - Friday evening - but I can certainly give you some information to read in the meantime. And you can always talk to some of the people who have been in Red X themselves, like Sooraya and Jean-Phillipe and Laurie and Clarice."
"Awesome - I'll totally sign up now. And information to read would be great," Clint said, smiling. "Are you in charge of the program? Like, organizing it and stuff?"
"For Xavier's yes," Yvette said, perhaps a little shamefacedly. "It seems that perhaps I should do the better job of advertising, yes?"
Clint just smiled again. "I could talk to the other students, if you'd like. It seems like it'd be a good opportunity."
"That sounds like the great idea. Frank is already interested, so perhaps you could join the forces?"
"Yeah, I'll definitely talk to him and see if we can coordinate stuff," Clint said, nodding.
