Charles was in and out of her head so fast that it occurred in the time-space of one footstep to the next. But Rachel didn’t even bat an eyelid before dropping her book bag in the corridor and doing an about-turn. She chased down the telepathic signal and wrangled just that bit more information out of the professor as she forewent the steps and leapt straight from the second to the first floor and took off running in the direction of the X-Corps offices. Angelo was probably still there.

She never quite made it there, though.

The demons were quite possibly the ugliest things she’d seen in a long while. Creepy little shits with too many teeth and tails. The redhead’s lip curled in disgust as she threw out her hands and pushed, sending a force wave down the monster-infested corridor.

Johnny was a floor above her, on the landing of the rear staircase. He ducked one demon's reaching grasp and slid between its legs. He sprang back onto his feet and whirled, kicking it in the head as it turned. The demon dissolved into goo. Goo.

Johnny stepped back, staring at it in horror. His danger sense flared a moment later, just as a second demon leaped at him, grabbing him by the shirt and throwing him off the landing. He twisted in mid air and landed on his feet a floor down as the demon jumped after him and began to run.

The demons just APPEARED to Matt, one moment not showing on his radar and the next attacking at his throat. Pushing away from their teeth, he dove off the bannister into the foyer, grabbing the chandelier hanging from the ceiling and swinging up on it. Hopefully it'd hold his weight, "The fuck?" he demanded, senses hearing Johnny as he approached. "You see creepy teeth things who want to eat your throat?" he called.

"They dissolved. One of them actually freaking dissolved when I hit it," Johnny called as his danger sense flared. The demons who'd been after Matt jumped down from the first floor, landing in front of him. Johnny whirled, ducking the blow one directed at him and leaped, kicking it in the face.

Feeling the light fixture begin to give, Matt swung down from it, landing on the creature and it dissolved underneath him. Several more showed up in its wake, "But what are they?" Matt asked, "Rachel!" He called, hearing her, "You okay?"

“Yeah. They’re not that difficult to handle,” Rachel said, pulling a group of them towards her before crushing them into a puddle of goo into the floor with a ferocious scowl. “Just too many of them.”

"We need to get someplace we can hold them off," Johnny gasped. "They're coming at us from both sides right now. But if we head back here, we can punch ... horrible demon monster things and at least they won't be coming up behind us." He lead the way.

Matt followed, agreeing with that assessment, he could see 360degrees, he couldn't actually bend that way though. Now was not the time to question where these things came from and what they were, now was the time to get them to go away. "They mentioned this place getting attacked. Never believed it," now he did. Very, very much. Flipping, he wrapped his legs around one as it half fell on them, making it disappear as he slammed it into the ground.

The little bastards climbing above their heads were suddenly pulled off the walls and crushed into the ceiling, as Rachel pulled a demon off the back of her head and threw it into the pathway of another demon she was calling towards her. The resulting goo-splosion made her blanch and duck in between both boys. “That’s nasty.”

Johnny gagged and scraped ... goo. (Just think of it as goo, Johnny-boy) off his face and out of his eyes and nodded. "Oh, god, that's gross."

Three more demons approached, on the ground this time and Johnny vaulted over the head of the lead one, using it as a springboard to kick the one behind in the face.

Matt felt like a Mexican jumping bean as he used the creatures as springboards to toss them into each other and kick at them. Even if he couldn't see the things, feeling then turn to goop under him was disgusting. "Is there an end?" He gasped, thoroughly covered.

"Magic," Rachel said with distaste, red hair swinging as she spun to face outwards, hands flinging up to form a shield around the three of them. The creatures caught within the bubble were taken care off with Johnny's help as she reached out to grasp Matt's arm. She'd apologise later for cutting off his 'sight', but for now -- "These things are from magic. So probably not. We don't want to mess with this shit. Best get out of the hallway and find a room until we have more details."

"Magic!? Fuck...." Matt had no problem with magic in general, but he disliked it right now specifically. He also disliked not being able to see anymore, but he could handle it if he had to. It wasn't like in Genosha so that was good. Reaching out, he gripped Johnny's arm tightly. "Let's get out of here then. I don't want them to keep coming."
