Angel wakes up in the med lab following the fight in faux-Limbo. Backdated to December 17.

"Owowowowowowow..."

Pain. Pain was a thing. Pain was a very big thing as a matter of fact. A very big, very bad thing. Angel made a noise in the back of her throat as she forced her eyes to open, blinking against the light. It took the blurred ceiling a moment to come into focus.

"I'm suing." Her voice cracked as she spoke.

"For what?" Clarice asked, picking up a plastic cup with a straw in it and bringing it to Angel's lips so she could drink a little. Taking the cup away she began checking tier other girl's vitals.

"For damages," Angel managed to get out once she'd finished sipping. "Did anyone get the license plate on the bus that hit me?"

"Pretty sure demon hellspawn don't carry insurance," she placed her stethoscope in her ears, "Breathe," Clarice instructed.

"Now that's just irresponsible." All amusement faded from her tired expression, however, when she attempted to pull in a breath and pain shot through her chest. "Owowow...breathing isn't completely necessary, is it?"

"Nah," Clarice agreed moving the head of the stethoscope around on Angel's chest under her hospital gown and then over her back as she listened to the girl breathe, "Congrats, you have breath. Slightly labored from your injuries, but you hurt too much to strain yourself. It will get better. Just no marathons or DR training for a while. Usual drill."

"Breathing is overrated anyways," Angel said with a bit of a smile. "Think I'm gonna grow gills and be a fish. That sounds like fun." And fish didn't have arms or ribs that could break. Always a plus. "No DR. I can totally do that."

Getting some pills, Clarice handed Angel the cup of water as she raised the hospital bed to make sitting easier, "Take these, they'll help with the pain," she handed the little paper cup with the pills in them to the red head and then tried her hair back in another messy ponytail. She was exhausted from everything going on in the medlab from this latest venture, "Gills do sound like fun. I'm game for that. What do you remember?"

"Awesome, we have a plan." She took the pills with a bit of wince, and was just about to throw them back when something occurred to her. "Wait, would we be fish or mermaids? Do mermaids have gills? How do they breathe?" At Clarice's question she made a face, pausing to swallow the pills as she tried to figure that out. "Uh...demons ruined my Christmas lights. Um..." Fire, Angelo...Callisto? The memories were there but they were fuzzy. "Going through the portal. After that it all kinda gets..." She waved her uninjured hand in an attempt describe it. "Fritzy."

Sitting on the bed gently, Clarice listened, understanding. "You were knocked out in the fight," she informed her teammate. "You and Callisto got into it. The Demon world got to her, she attacked. It got ugly," that didn't even begin to describe it really. Thank goodness for understatement. "Sleep now mermaid girl. You'll feel better when you wake up again."

She thought she might have remembered pain, but then again she might have just been confusing that with the present. "Oh well," she sighed as she let her eyes flutter shut. "I don't wanna remember anyways. Sounds depressing." She couldn't help but grin as she opened her eyes again, though. "I would be an awesome mermaid. Betcha I was Ariel in a past life." Her voice dipped off into a low murmur as her eyes slipped shut again. Sleep. Yes.

Sleep was good.
