Namor helps Tandy finishing the rest of the flyers, questions and movies follow. [Backdated to Sunday Night]

Namor had found little reason to linger in the Common Room since he had moved into the mansion. It was, for all of its quaint, suburban charm, entirely too common -- there were usually one to two people in the room, and Namor was not the sort of gentlemen to enter without an invitation. However, that did not mean he never passed the room. It was conveniently in the middle of the route back to his suite from the pool. So that was how he found himself, unusually casual in a white tee shirt and work-out pants, staring at the marker-scented mess that covered the normally clean room.

There was, at the least, an apparent method to the madness. A small, blonde figure sat in the midst of all of this chaos with a pen in hand. She had been busy. A finished pile of papers sat stacked neatly in a box at one end of the coffee table. A riot of colored sharpies and office supplies were the inverse of this: some on the table, some on the floor, only a few in their container. It was at this thought that Namor checked himself. He had been rude for too long without announcing his presence. Scolding himself for this breech of propriety, Namor cleared his throat to get the girl's attention.

Tandy had been unusually busy as she had taken on more roles at her Uncle's Church for the volunteer work. She suspected it was to keep her pre-occupied and out of trouble, not that she minded. Her duty was to make flyers for the can food drive that the church was going to be orchestrating this year. The flyers would be placed around the church and into District X, which wasn't far from the church. She sat crossed-legged in front of the coffee table with the T.V on behind her (mostly for background noise). "Shit…" She whispered as she accidentally got red marker on her designer jeans and attempted to get it out when she heard someone clearing their throat. Her skin glowed slightly as she looked up to see Namor there.

"Hi." Tan grabbed the remote and turned down the T.V. before turning her attention to the other boy. Tandy met him last summer and really didn't talk to him all that much during his stay here. However he was there during the events in the cave when Tandy's second power activated (she was still trying to figure out how she did it). "What can I do for you Namor?" Placing the cap back unto the red marker and placed it on the table.

His greeting was matched with a perfunctory smile, "Miss Bowen. Always a pleasure." Namor's body language gave no clue that he had noticed her marker accident, the fact that she was glowing, or that the sheer amount of paper-stuff surrounding her was anything out of the normal. He nodded toward a window, "Do you mind? It may be cold, but I could smell your markers halfway down the hall."

"Oh…" Tandy looked at her markers, she had gotten used to the smell. "Go for it." She pulled over the box towards her to look at the flyers, "Did you want to use the common room? I am just about finished with these flyers for my uncle."

It had only taken him a few seconds to cross the room and open a window, so the deed was finished by the time Tandy stopped speaking. Namor blinked in disbelief as if the concept hanging out in the common room was below him, but settled on a simple, "No thank you." He eyed her posters curiously, "Do you need help finishing up?"

"Sure. I am making flyers for a can food drive that my uncle's church is hosting. He is always looking for volunteers…" Tandy pulled out more blank paper and a paper that she had just finished writing. "Here. You can decorate pretty much how you want too just as long as the most important stuff is on there. Thanks for helping."

Her volunteer blinked. “I…” but Tandy was already back to business. Namor did not decorate. He did not want to decorate. But, still… a cause worthy of attention and he had offered. It was his duty to assist charities. The boy straightened himself confidently. He could do this.

Repositioning to be near the table, Namor crouched and more carefully examined the flyers. It was a simple design — Tandy had used the markers to highlight some of the words and phrases with positive little smiles and a variety of accents in cheerful colors. Namor took a steadying breath and began underscoring what seemed like the more important data points of the flyer with a green sharpie and precise, deft strokes.

Tandy watched Namor as he started to work on the flyers, "Have you done anything like this before?" Her eyes moved from the paper to the boy sitting near her. She would comment on his lack of creativity on the paper but she wasn't going to say anything unless he asked her how it looked.

The frustration in his eyes was evident. So was his pride. "You are the first person who has ever asked me to 'decorate.'" In Namor's defense, he had excellent penmanship.

"First time for everything." Tandy smiled at him. "Does Attlian do something similar?"

He blinked at her. "I assume that we usually have flyers printed. When the Royal Family does charity work there tends to be a lot of pretense for the public."

"Weird. I guess everyone does it their own way. I would had printed them out but kind of late for that. Plus it kind of personalizes them. Tomorrow I am going to start handing them out to the surrounding stores and door to door."

Namor nodded. "Well, it sounds like a worthy cause. It is noble of you to help." He briefly reread the flyer, taking in more of the details. "Is your uncle an administrator at Saint Peter's?"

Tandy pulled another blank paper towards her to start working on it. "No. He is the priest, but likes to be very much involved with everything. Usually one of the nuns does the administration, Sister Margot has been doing it for awhile now."

"That's excellent," and the approval in his tone indicated that he really thought so. Namor was finishing the flyer he had been working on, and added a thumbs up next to "DONATE TODAY." "A hands on approach is the best way to get things done."

"Agreed. Though sometimes it is hard to get others to help out. Do you want to see the church sometime?"

"My family isn't that religious," Namor noted with a hint of apology. He smiled sympathetically. "We're major-holiday Catholics at best. I'd be more interested in the service work."

"Was meaning the basement. See the Shelter and the once a week soup kitchen. I grew up not going to Church, my mother was...busy." Tandy finished the rest of her flyer and placed in the box nearby. "How are you liking it so far here?"

This was met with a look of consideration. "The facilities are great, as is the staff."

"Just the staff?" Tandy raised an eyebrow at him.

He shrugged. "Apparently I need to learn to watch my tongue when it comes to other students. Most of the students are good to talk to." Namor motioned toward his lip, which still look banged up, and his slightly red nose. "Others find I have an attitude."

Tandy looked at his lip, "Ouch. It is clash of personalities here. May I ask who did that?" Wondering which of the students did that to his lip.

"It was technically a brick wall, but you'll understand if my injuries are between me and him," Namor replied proudly.

"Fair enough." Tandy smirked a bit, "How is that flyer coming around?" Looking over at what he was working on.

He held it up for her to see. "There isn't as much personality in mine as your's." And then: an idea. "What if we split our efforts? My handwriting is legible, but your decorating is leagues better."

"I like the way you think Namor. Plus you have better handwriting than me." Tandy reached over and grabbed the rest of the short stack of short blank papers and placed them near him. "Question, do you like classic movies?"

"Like, American classic movies? Old black and white ones?" He smiled. "I do."

"All of the above? Including the silent area ones. On Sunday Nights I normally put on old classics, you are more than welcome to join if you have nothing better to do."

"I think that would help us work," Namor said paired with a nod. "I actually prefer older movies to current ones. The men may not treat their women with the respect they deserve, but at least they're honorable about it."

Tandy stood up and walked over to her backpack and pulled out her DVDs. "I have any old movies you can think off. I am quite proud of my collection." Walking back over to Namor to show him the burned DVDs that she made of the movies. "Pick one."

Namor briefly glanced over the scribbled titles. It really was a good idea for him to write the flyers as he could only make out about half of names. He mentally patted himself on the pack, gestured randomly, and stated, "This is a good choice. I haven't seen it."

"Haven't seen it? Living under a rock?" Tandy teased as she took the dvd from its slot and walked over to the t.v. "You are in for a real treat then."
