John meets up with his adopted father, ready for a trip back to the unknown.

The man who had come to be known as John slowly walked forward down the long path towards the heli-pad at Muir Island. It had been several long months since he had left the mansion, that many thought was his former home, in order to seek out treatment for his memory. But thus far, it had to no real avail. There wasn't too much that had clicked in other than the folded picture of himself and the purple-haired girl that he had kept in his pocket at all times. But now he was on his way back.

After hearing that the man that supposedly caused a near fatal stab to his chest may be going on trial soon, he knew that it was time to return. And that was what was leading him down the path where he was set to meet his adopted father. The only person he had kept in contact with in the States, and the only person he trusted to come and pick him up.

Kurt was waiting, perched in the door of the helicopter with his legs swinging. He jumped down as he saw John approaching, with a tentative smile. "Hello. How are you feeling?"

"Other than the whole swarm of butterflies in my gut thing, I'm doing just fine." He gave Kurt a tentative smile. It had taken John a while to accept the fact that he was a mutant, something that he had worked through while in Europe. It was strange that the person he felt most comfortable with was not just blue, but had a tail. "Are you sure I'm not going to be disturbing anything?" It might have been a bid to get out of going to a place that he felt like he should remember, but his adopted father was one of the people that he fully trusted, and if he gave the affirmation, he wasn't going to fight against it.

"Nothing that cannot stand to be disturbed", Kurt assured him. "We have gained some new arrivals who have never met you, perhaps that will even make things a little easier."

He smirked as he made his reached his way towards one of the handholds in the helicopter, and used it to begin to hoist himself up. "Well I hope that I'm at least not the person who's the most lost in the mansion." John had been used to having slept on the giant floor of a homeless shelter. It was very different from the endless hallways of the mansion in New England, or the vastness of the facility on the island. He raised his eyebrow slightly towards Kurt. "And you're sure that you're not going to mind my endless questions starting again?"

"To have you back", Kurt said sincerely, pulling himself back into the helicopter and standing, "I will happily live with endless questions."

"Well if that's the case...." John fell into the seat of the helicopter before holding up the strap next to his arm. "...How in the world am I supposed to strap myself in with this thing?" He had another smile locked and loaded. He wasn't the depressed moper he had been when he first disappeared to Muir so many months back. He was working on looking on the lighter side of his life.

"Come here", Kurt said with amused affection, and pulled the straps into position for him. "There. Do not fall out of the helicopter."

"I think that if I'm going to fall out, you're one of the few people that could help me out." He showed an amused grin as he looked up at Kurt. The boy stole one last look over through the window at Muir Island. "So...." He returned his look at Kurt and the front of the helicopter. Looking towards his future. "...is it time that I head back to the madhouse?" It was a joke, what he had called his homeless shelter, but it seemed more appropriate for the mansion as he tried to regain his memory.

"I have done it before, and am rather hoping not to have to do it again", he said wryly. "Do you want it to be time?"

He took a minute staring down at the floor to think before looking up at his father. "It's time." And with that, he knew his life was about to become a whirlwind once again.
