Clint goes by the X-Corp offices to discuss internship opportunities with Angelo.

Angelo liked, when he got the chance, to leave his Big Boss Office and wander around in the outer one, getting an idea of what people were working on.

As he began one of these circuits, he glanced up at the door opening, and blinked at the arrival. "Hey - Clint, right?"

"Yeah, Clint Barton," Clint said, somewhat surprised that the head of X-Corp knew his name. Xavier's was a small community, though, so maybe he shouldn't have been. "How're you doing?"

"Not too bad, and yourself? What brings you down to see us?"

"Alright," Clint said, offering the older man his hand. "I wanted to talk to you about X-Corp. I'm already working with Miss Petrovic in Red-X, which is great, but... I dunno, I figured it'd be good to see what else is going on and I like helping people."

"Red-X is a good start." He smiled and shook Clint's hand. "They're sort of a subsidiary of us, in a way, even if they started before X-Corps did. What sort of thing do you like doing best?"

"I dunno," Clint said, shrugging a little. "I like helping people, but I figured I'd see what all was available to do before I decided what it was I wanted to focus on?"

"Seems like a good way to go about it. But I mean... paperwork sort of stuff, or getting out there and hands-on with projects?"

"More hands on stuff, I guess," Clint said. "I don't mind pitching in with paperwork, but it's not what I want to do all the time. I like the the first responder stuff we've been learning with Red-X."

"That's pretty good", Angelo agreed. "I can send you out to look around and help on our site projects, but obviously not anywhere dangerous without your dads signing it off and all that."

"Really?" Clint asked, eyes widening a bit. "I thought it'd be... I don't know." He paused. "Wait, is that like, if you officially give me a job? Or are you like - can I look around and see stuff? Cause I've already got a part-time job at the deli and a lot of other stuff. But could I like - is there maybe an internship thing I could look at?"

"You're a bit young for a full-time job, and your teachers would hunt me down if I made your schoolwork suffer. But sure, we can arrange an internship for you, we already did for Frank."

"Awesome - like a summer thing? Cause I asked Mister Summers about being a trainee, too," Clint said, smiling. Then he frowned a little. "I think I might have to drop chess club."

"Or never sleep again", Angelo said with a wry grin. "Training for the X-Men can work around a lot of things, though."

"And there's archery and my extra hand-to-hand fighting with Logan and Red-X and the job at the deli..." Clint blinked. "Luckily Red-X is only once a month. And summer means no school stuff except for the summer classes I'm taking."

"Man, you sound like me. I tried to do everything ever too, and I'm still doing this and law school at the same time."

"Dude, law school?" Clint laughed. "I don't think I'd have the head for that. But I love science. So figuring out how to make something with that that would help people..."

"Science and engineering's your thing, huh? I should really introduce you to Forge sometime", Angelo said thoughtfully. "If I can get him to come out of his cave."

"Is he the engineer guy who can make anything?" Clint asked. "I've heard KGibz talk about him."

"That's the one", he confirmed. "Not all that good with people sometimes, but give him bits of machinery and stand well back."

"Cool," Clint said. "I'd enjoy that - cause yeah, science and engineering, math, robotics. It's all in my brain. They're my favorite subjects. I've got like - they have all these programs you can do. I'll probably change my mind like eight times, but doctorates and stuff."

"Doctorates?" Angelo laughed, but it was warm and impressed. "First things first, you're not even done with high school yet."

"Yeah, but you gotta prep, right?" Clint said. "I mean, I'm taking AP classes and I can probably manage to convince somebody to let me take a class at the local college for math if I really want to. Which I do. Because otherwise I'll be in school for the rest of my life and I've got plans for other things."

"Yeah? What kind of plans?" It was genuinely interested. "Something that takes a lot of study?"

"Well, like I said, doctorates." Clint grinned. "I'm trying to narrow down what I actually want to do, but maybe Astrophysics and Economics or Chemistry. But maybe Engineering instead of Econ - I can always minor in Econ and Engineering is really interesting."

"You're obviously going places", he declared. "But I really meant what you're planning on doing that isn't school for the rest of your life."

"I could always do the theoretical side of things, the research and stuff, but I... like the idea of using what I learn practically, to help people. I just don't have any real idea how my math and science could do that." Clint knew he could sit in a lab for eight hours five days a week and be fine, but it wasn't what he wanted to do.

"Engineering", Angelo said with a grin. "Any number of practical applications with engineering."

"Yeah, but do I want to do like, mechanical engineering and work on clean water for third world countries or molecular engineering so I can work with genetics and maybe cure cancer or something?" Clint said, shrugging. "There's good applications for a lot of stuff I'm interested in, but I don't have any practical experience with any of them and so I figured I'd see what you might have available for internships so I could see what I like and what I don't - y'know, what fits."

"Well, like I say, if you want to be hands-on, we can place you somewhere. And now I know you want more practical than paperwork, I can look into arranging a thing or two with that."

"Cool," Clint said, grinning. "That'd be awesome. Any idea when you'll know? I wanna make sure everything works out with school and all."

"I'll start putting feelers out today. Shouldn't take more than a week to find out who might be interested."

"Great. Should I email you or something later this week to find out if anybody's got something that'll work?"

"Sounds like a plan." He grinned. "In the meantime, if you want keeping busy, we can do that too."

"Awesome," Clint said, nodding. "I'm gonna need enough time for studying for exams, but once school's out, I should be able help out more in between class and working at Deli-CAT-essen."

"I can work around your schedule", Angelo promised. "I try to be flexible even for the full-time staff, so."
