Julian finds Angelica in the kitchen, the two enjoy frozen treats and discuss the New Mutants.

"No, nonononono, don't put me on hold - damn it!" Angel groaned, dropping her head on the kitchen counter. She'd been on and off hold with Columbia for the last twenty minutes, trying desperately to get some financial mumbo jumbo straightened out. "Come back?" She tested, but nope - the ridiculous hold music was playing. Again. She sighed as she went to the freezer, catching the phone between her shoulder and ear and pulled out a Fudgsicle, popping it into her mouth.

Julian's grass-stained suit coat and tie were neatly hung in his guest room, along with his shoes which allowed him to move stealthily around the mansion. The meeting with Megan at the lake made him more sure he needed to find Angelica, but had no clue where to start looking for her since she wasn't in her room. Hungry after his long trip, Julian decided to head for the kitchen to make a snack. Serendipity dawned on him as he rounded the corner and spotted her with her back turned to him. It had been years, but she looked as gorgeous as he recalled, perhaps more so. Smirking, he began to sneak up behind her, stocking feet padding against the tile floor. Once he was within a few feet he paused, "Hello, Firefly."

Angel jumped a mile, whirling around - the Fudgsicle hanging out of her mouth. "Jmffmf!" It was supposed to be Julian's name, but that wasn't quite possible. ditching her phone and treat in favor of throwing her arms around him. "How are you?" She asked excitedly, pulling back to look at him.

The warm hug was very welcome, "It's so good to see you too, Angel," he laughed. "I'm...good," he tried to smile convincingly, but was sure it wasn't. Before she could press the issue, he changed the subject, "You look great! How have you been doing?"

Angel raised an eyebrow at him, shaking her head. "You're a horrible liar Julian, but I'll let it go because when you want to talk about it you will." Because of course she knew about what had happened. Part of her hadn't been entirely shocked because funding terrorist groups was exactly the kind of thing William Keller would do. She was just surprised he'd gotten caught. "But I'm good. Finally getting done with that whole college thing, my last semester is starting in a few weeks if I can figure out why I owe them a thousand dollars. What brings you back to this part of our humble country?"

"I'm moving back, actually," with the reason being tied so closely to his lie, there was no avoiding that discussion, "and you already know about my father going to prison...don't you?" He playfully quirked one side of his mouth downward, "National news, I suppose."

"Yeah, I did." Angel smiled, a bit sadly. "Hard to miss. But hey, moving back! If there's a silver lining it's definitely that, New York is way better than California. Obviously."

"I don't know," he slid his hand through his hair, "I did very well for myself in California." Julian locked eyes with her, "I hope to do well for myself here too."

"I'm sure you did." Her smile went right back to its usual, thousand-watt grin. "Well I know I'm not like a multi-millionaire or anything, but anything I can do to help you with doing well here, just let me know."

He smirked and nodded as his flirting was either ignored or went over her head, "Actually, there is one thing you could do for me." Julian moved to the freezer and grabbed a Fudgcicle of his own, hoping his butt onto the counter as he opened it. "Or maybe it's more about, what I can do to help you."

Ignored. Angel loved Julian as a friend and all, but that wasn't a road she was going down again. "Oh yeah?" She asked, leaning against the counter next to him and grabbing her Fudgiscle again - after checking the call to Columbia. She was still on hold. "And pray-tell, what can you do for me?"

"I can help you wrangle the New Mutants," he smiled, raised his eyebrows, and popped the frozen treat into his mouth.

Angel raised an eyebrow at that. "You wanna help with the kids?" Okay, that was a bit surprising.

"Why is that so surprising?" Julian feigned a hurt expression, then smirked and shrugged. "I've done a lot of growing since I left. While I was home I volunteered to help the kids at the West Coast Annex. I enjoyed it," he smiled, "honestly, it was really rewarding."

"Well...alright then." Angel grinned. "You wanna help, I'm not gonna say no. I'll warn you right now though, they're all nuts. I'll give you the run down later but here's something to look forward to - one of them made potatoes appear out of thin air for like two weeks."

Julian furrowed his brow, "Like...when he was around they just started sprouting? That does not seem so bad, they are just potatoes. I seem to remember us getting tricked into a jungle filled with giant-robot-dinosaurs on one occasion. Oh, and there was that time, Nico transported us into another dimension where we were our Dungeons and Dragons characters." He scoffed, "How bad can they be?"

"Yeah we've got two Nicos this time." Angel snorted. "The one I was just talking about, he said, 'I want potatoes' and people were finding potatoes in random places for days afterwards. Kyle found like ten in his classroom. I found a few in the bathroom. The other one made chess pieces come to life and they laid siege to the mansion. Last year a cave came to life and attacked everyone on a field trip. Another time they were dragged into another dimension but something that's supposed to be an Internet meme. I don't know what it is about them but they seem to attract magical trouble."

"How is Nico?" he shook his head, he wasn't going to press that issue, "no, forget I asked." He sighed and thought about it for a moment, taking a bite of the softening fudgy-treat-on-a-stick. "Sounds like I arrived just in time then. I'll be around the mansion for a couple weeks while my, um, condo closes. Let's go through the roster soon- would you have time for breakfast tomorrow? My treat."

"She's good." Angel replied anyways, but she let it go right after that. "Well if you're gonna treat me to breakfast then who am I to say no?" She grinned. "I'll bring the files, you bring your wallet." She winked.
