The two Joneses meet and have a lighthearted aerial chat. (Backdated to 9/5 at 3:00 p.m.)

Jessica stepped out of the mansion. Her long, thick brown hair was pulled up into a ponytail and her eyes stared up at the blue sky above. It was clear and only a bit cloudy. A perfect day for a flight. She had prepared her wardrobe accordingly and was dressed in a pair of her comfiest grey sweats, a white beater, and a pair of converse. She found flying in jeans and long sleeves to be uncomfortable and since the cold didn't bother her, there was no need to wear protective clothing. Moreover, she loved her hair on the ground, but in the sky it was a bitch. She moved a short distance away from the mansion, a nostalgic smile coming to her lips as she remembered all of the buildings she had crashed into while learning to fly. She thanked the universe that she was also inhumanly tough, since explaining random broken bones to her adoptive 'rents would've been pretty awkward. As soon as she was a satisfactory distance from anything that could be a potential crash hazard, she called on her power. It had scared her the first time, defying gravity as she did, but now it was one of the most freeing experiences in the world. Her eyes slid closed as she slowly rose upwards, her legs curling beneath her on reflex. As soon as she was twenty feet off of the ground, her dull brown orbs snapped open, and she let out a whoop as she rocketed upwards at an incredible speed. She was careful not to go so fast that it tore her clothes, but she let out a short laugh as she wondered into the big blue above.
'Note to self, find someone to do this with. With a school full of mutants, there's gotta be someone around here who loves this just as much as I do. Perhaps Matt has the number of that dude with wings, maybe I should ask him.' She thought as she continued to twirl and spin through the sky.

Someone who enjoyed it as much as Jessica did was already in the sky. Angel had been kicking around in the air for the better part of two hours, looping around dive-bombing the ground, pulling out within a few feet of crash-landing. She'd been flying more and more ever since the mission. It had been infuriating, not being able to fly without fear that the Fury would be able to power up off of it.

A small frown pulled at Angel's lips, and she kicked off against the air, speeding along, as if she could out run the thoughts. Thankfully she was distracted in the form of another person below her. "Yo!" She called as she dropped down to Jessica's altitude. "What's the good word?"

Jessica looked up, and noticed a young woman flying above her. She had red hair and was surrounded by an aura of blue fire. It was like nothing Jessica had ever seen. She stopped abruptly, nearly giving herself whiplash in the process, before she willed her body to rise to the level of the stranger's.

"I'd have to say that the good word is...bunnies. Also, you're flying and on fire. That's kind of fucking awesome. Jessica Jones, let the alliterative appeal of my name astound you." Jessica offered with a wink and a grin as she brought her legs up into a lotus position. She hadn't brought her notebook with her, her sweats had no pockets, so she was going to have to pay extra attention to the stranger and file away whatever she learned about her for later.

"Bunnies!" Angel giggled, straightening out and stretching her arms above her head. "But yeah, I'm on fire. I do that sometimes. I tend to enjoy it." She grinned, rolling her shoulders back. "Oh, my last name twin! Angelica Jones, but you can call me Angel. So very nice to meet you. I'd offer to shake your hand but I tend to run kind of hot when I'm flying."

"There's got to be a million Joneses in New York alone. I wonder how many of us are actually related and how many of us are just that fucking unoriginal." The brunette joked. "It's nice to meet you Angel. I've been waiting to meet another flyer ever since Matt told me about some guy with wings. Trust me, being on fire is so much cooler. That is, being on fire without it hurting. Not that being on fire hurts me much, but...anyways, what are you doing up here on this fine afternoon?" Jessica asked. 'I swear my hoof in mouth disease is going to be fatal one day.'She thought.

"Yeah well I'm from Seattle so I' one of the cool Joneses," Angel said with a grin. "But I do agree, being on fire is so much cooler. It makes everything better, and I speak from experience." She did a little twirl, looking quite amused and pleased with herself. "Anyways nothing really. Just felt like getting out and flying a bit. It's too nice of a day not to enjoy the weather."

Jessica nodded in agreement before she leaned back and let her power allow her to lay on air.

"It IS a nice day. This place doesn't have shitty air like New York either. It's nice to fly without practically chocking on whatever various buildings are pumping out, you know? So, Angelica-probably not related to me but still awesome-Jones, what brought you to Xavier's? And, just out of curiosity, what else can you do with those cool blue flames of yours? If you don't mind me asking?" She replied.

"Oh, the same thing that brought most of us here." Angel shrugged, floating along. "I was fifteen and on fire and my parents didn't know what to do about it. I can do a lot of things, actually, I'm kinda like a lighter. Except you know without the circle-y thing you spin. What about you? What brings you to our fine institution?"

Jessica nodded slowly, an image of Angel as a lighter briefly filled her thoughts before she shook her head.
"I guess part of me wanted to learn more about mutant status. Sure, I've been flying and hitting like a Mack truck since I was thirteen, but I've never really done anything more than enjoy the benefits it gives me. I don't know my limits and, while I'm apprenticing to be a P.I. back home, I thought I'd try to get to know myself and my powers a bit better. After hearing a few whispers here and there over in Mutant Town, I decided to track the place down and check it out. Professor Xavier was the epitome of nice on the phone, even though it gave me the fucking Willies to learn he's a telepath. Now I'm here, starting the next chapter of my fucking existence." She explained, pointedly not making eye contact with Angel as she did so. She eventually looked up, her dull brown eyes flashing with unsaid thoughts. "So, Matt offered to train me, but I was curious if there was anyone more like me to help me out? You know, someone who can help me learn to use what I've got a bit better than I can now. I mean, someone helped you learn more about being on fire and how to use it properly, right?" She asked.

"Yeah, the telepathy thing is a bit wiggy-worthy," Angel agreed thoughtfully as she turned upside down - never quite able to sit still for long. "But if it helps he's really good about randomly going into our heads without permission, if it helps. As for anyone more like you, sure. We've got all types around here, tracking someone down shouldn't be hard. We actually have a lot of indestructables here. I never really thought about that before but...yeah. Yeah, we do."
"Awesome." Jessica declared as she turned upside down, letting her hair point straight down toward the Earth. "So, I'm kinda itching to pour on a little speed. Up for some friendly competition?"
Angel grinned as she righted herself again, straightening out. "Let's do it." She turned around, humming as she thought. "To...that tree there, to the mansion, and back again?"

"You're on!" Jessica cried jubilantly as she took off, laughing.
