Julian crash lands at a popular surfing spot, and meets Susan Storm.

The sun was peaking out from behind the perfectly white and fluffy clouds as the dark blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean crashed upon the sandy shore below. Sixty feet up, Julian Keller drifted along the coastline, looking for a clear place to crash land- though maybe this would be the time he'd get it right. He was running out of steam, despite the rest he'd taken a scant fifteen minutes prior, though the take off had been necessary when he realized his sanctuary was actually a nude beach. He blamed the cold for his exhaustion, the air currents whipped past his telekinetic fields, which glowed faintly green in the sunlight, but the barriers were tactile, so the chilly air cut right through his wet suit.

His surfboard floated behind him gently waffling in the breeze. It was too much, the sandy stretch below him would have to do. He started his descent, sending the board before him and gently setting it down before he started to lower himself. At the last moment, the fields of force from the earth threw off his trajectory and he fell wildly, landing face first in the sand. It was by far not his worst landing.

It wasn't often that Sue got the chance to steal some time for herself, there was always something which needed her attention. So the chance to get away from everything, and spend some time alone at the beach, just her and the waves, was always the highlight of her day. Well she wasn't exactly alone, despite the early hour of the morning there were always surfers who made the trek out to the beaches in the morning to start their day with the waves. Sue nodded to a few of the regulars as she sat on the sand, her board lying next to her as she soaked up the early morning sunshine.

The sound of the waves and the sunlight had lulled the blonde into a contented sluggishness, which is why the man falling out of the sky came as such a surprise. a man in a wet suit with a surfboard slamming into the ground near him. Sue dismissed the the forcefield which she had thrown up on instinct and hurriedly pushed herself to her feet to hasten to the man's side. "Hey, are you ok?" she asked reaching out hesitantly to check on him.

With a chuckle, Julian brushed the sand out of his hair and shook off the muscle strain the crash has caused his neck- most of the impact had been absorbed by his reactionary telekinetic shields, which had been used a great deal while learning to fly. He finally looked toward the gorgeous, young woman approaching him on the sand. He straightened up and beamed at her, "Yes, I'm fine- any landing you can walk away from, right?"

Sue couldn't help but smile , "I'm pretty sure when they say that they don't mean when you fall out of the sky onto your face," she pointed out with a laugh. Sue's eye flicked over the marks on the ground before alighting on the surfboard lying behind him before turning to the man with a smirk, "you know I checked the weather, but they never said anything about it raining surfboards, if I'd known I wouldn't have had to lug my board all the way down here."

Cute and funny, "If only, I've been lugging this thing around for the last hour or so up there looking for a spot to set down...or crash, either way. This stretch of sand seemed good enough. How are the breakers here?" The deep blue of the Atlantic stretched out to the horizon, waves crashing upon the sand- it was colder here than at the aqua-blue waters of the Pacific.

Sue turned her head to glance at the surfers already out braving the early morning waters before turning back to Jullian with a smile, "It manages to get us out of be every morning," she told him in a complete deadpan before relenting,. "It's one of th best you get close to the city, if you've got the time to drive a little further out then there are a coupla better ones but," the blonde shrugged, "you wouldn't be able to get back to work in time, or spend so much time out on the waves."

Julian considered the trade off, "I might have to buy a boat...or helicopter maybe? Though it's not as if I have an office job I need to be at." Giving his wetsuit another dust off, Julian plucked his board from the sand with his mind and dropped the backpack he'd stored his wax in. "What about you, what sort of work are you in, miss...?"

"Storm, call me Sue. I work as a PA at Meridian Enterprises," Sue replied turning to watch the waves before she turned back to Julian with a smile, "My boss is pretty awesome, though I'm not sure she'd be that impressed by me taking the morning or the day off to go hit the waves out of the city."

The entrepreneurial side of Julian's brain kicked into gear, trying to figure out where he'd heard that name before; drawing a blank, he smiled and nodded, "Hopefully you didn't have to lie about it. Sometimes you just need to get away though- unplug, drop in, find your balance. Zen-like, ya know?" He gave her a smile and extended his hand, "Otto Henry, it's nice to meet you, Sue."

"And you," Sue replied with a smile as she shook the offered hand, "I do't normally have any problems with the morning surf, I live in the city and the beach is on the way so it works out pretty nicely. What about you? What is it you do? Apart from fall out of the sky and buy boats and helicopters?" she asked curiously.

Julian bobbled his head in uncertainty, "That's a good question- a friend of mine once called me a libertine, so there's that. Aside from the all investments, the parties, and being the scion of a ruined family, I'm a student, but I don't have any classes today so I figured I would hit the beach." He hadn't been surfing since before his father's plea bargain had been announced- he was hoping not to embarrass himself in front of the cute blond too much.

"A libertine huh," Sue repeated arching an eyebrow, "Should I be worried for my safety then Mr Henry?" she continued, a teasing smile playing across her lips. "It's not everyday a tall, dark, rich partying surfer just drops into my life after all, though I wouldn't worry about being the scion of a ruined family, there's less pressure on you that way. You don't have to do anything, or at least anything you don't want to. That's gotta be nice." she told him with a bright smile before looking at Julian with curiosity,. "You said you were a student, where do you go?"

"New York University," he nodded, "transferred from Stanford, California was getting a bit dry for my tastes." Julian started to wax his board, "And you don't need to worry about your safety, Miss. Storm- unless you consider an invitation to dinner to be dangerous...though I will warn you, it has been a good while since I've eaten in the city and may make a choice ill-befitting someone of your obviously sophisticated tastes." He looked up at her and winked.

"I'm pretty sure my girlfriend would argue that having dinner with you might prove to be at least a little dangerous," the blonde countered with a laugh, "All alone with you in a restaurant, who knows what might happen?" she asked returning Julian's wink. "It's not hard to find a good restaurant here, you can't throw a" Sue's eyes flicked down, "surfboard. Although, you came here because you thought California was dry, really?

"Uncultured, shallow...also actually in a drought right now, maybe you haven't heard." He smiled and continued to rub down his board, "I probably should have figured you would already be attached to someone- though if she never finds out..." he looked up at her a moment with a raised eyebrow, then chuckled and shook his head. "Or bring her along, you seem the kind of person worth getting to know better, Susan Storm."

"California uncultured? You've obviously been spending your time on the wrong part of town Mr Henry," Sue replied a smile still playing across her lips, "There are plenty of amazing surf spots and beach hangouts, if you know where to look. What other kind of culture is there that's important?" she asked with a laugh before shaking her head, "Well I'd have to check with her first, but I think she might be interested in meeting you." He seemed nice enough, and Sue had only met a few surfers her age, besides the blonde was sure that she and Maddie could handle any situation that cropped up.

Julian- Otto- laughed and started working a second layer down- it had been a while and he wasn't keen on the conversation ending just yet. "Fine by me, the more the merrier. Why don't you give me your number and I'll give you a call later today to see what she says?"

Sue grinned and tilted her head, "Or you could give me your number and I'll call you this afternoon after I talk to her," she countered, she liked Otto, but wasn't willing to just give away her number like that to someone she'd just met. "You can spend the time throwing your surfboard around in he middle of the City to find a nice restaurant." she teased.

Sue, was witty, gorgeous, and seemed smart too and though Julian was very much enjoying himself the surf was calling. "Deal, let your girlfriend know and I will see you tonight," he rattled off his digits and capped the wax container, "I look forward to hearing from you, Sue."

"Sounds like a plan," Sue agreed with a grin and she turned around to scoop up her bag and surfboard as she cast one last envious glance at hte surfer's still out on the sea. "Enjoy the waves Otto," she told her new friend with a mischievous grin, "just try not to fall on your face...again."
