Julian runs across a VERY intoxicated Angelica Jones at the party.

"And then I said - nononono wait, and then he said-"

It was entirely possible that Angel was drunk. There wasn't exactly a noticeable difference in her behavior, aside from the fact that her brain and mouth was no longer capable of keeping up with what she wanted to say.

"And then - wait, what was I saying?"

She finished off the last of her current drink and once again slapped the way the hand of the man she was talking to. She was trying to have a nice conversation with him, but he kept insisting on trying to feel her up.

"Okay you know what, I forget what I was saying, I need another drink, and you're kinda an ass, so I'm gonna walk away now. Have a good night!"

And with that she turned and walked off, giggling.

Julian had noticed the drunk man trying to feel-up his friend in one of the brighter corners of the condo, he waved for his security detail to escort the drunken-letch to a cab outside before heading to intercept his ex. Making his way through the throngs of people, he couldn't help but feel accomplished in his efforts to throw a party that would launch him onto the New York social scene. He slid in next to Angelica at the bar, "Hey, Red- come here often?"

The bartender had just finished pouring her drink when Julian appeared next to Angel. She grinned, holding up the now full glass in a mock toast. "First time, but this might just be my new favorite hang out. You'll probably never get rid of me now." She took a long sip of her drink. "Plus that guy-" She pointed at the bartender, "makes an awesome strawberry thing, and I think I'm in love."

"Do you hear that, Edwardo, she's in love with you," he smiled, "I'll have one of what she's having please." The bartender chuckled and went to work as Julian turned his attention back to his, he now realized intoxicated, friend. "You look lovely tonight, Angelica- new dress?"

"Edwardo! You have a good name Edwardo." Angel grinned brightly at the bartender before looking back at Julian. "Yup!" She did a little spin, wobbling just slightly as the world continued to spin after she had stopped. "And might I just say that you look dashing yourself. All two of you. Waitwaitwait...there we go. One of you again."

Julian nodded, he didn't think Angelica even noticed him helping her stay upright, "You've had quite a few of Edwardo's concoctions this evening, I see. Do you know how many?" The last thing he needed was one of his friends getting alcohol poisoning at his first party.

"Well, this-" She held up her drink, "makes three, and before that there was a peach-y one that didn't taste as good, which is when we switched to strawberry. So four. Four drinks. Four really fruity yummy drinks. Well, three really fruity yummy drinks and one fruity good but not as yummy drink."

Julian raised an eyebrow in surprise, "You, my dear, are a light-weight." He'd had several drinks himself, but he likely had more experience with alcohol that Angelica. "How are you feeling?"

"Oh, I feel great." Angel grinned, bouncing a bit. "But enough about that! Party seems to be booming. Have the neighbors called the cops yet?"

"Several times," Julian shrugged, "but they're mostly here- the noise complaints from New Jersey are a bit more bothersome, the governor has given me a day to shut things down. We'll see what happens." When she wasn't paying attention he gently lifted her drink and set it on a passing tray.

"Jeez, go big or go home." Angel snorted, not really noticing her missing drink. "Honestly, though, if every single one of these people is still here once the sun comes up you might wanna consider getting someone to kick 'em all out for you. Nice place and all but I don't think ya have enough rooms for everyone."

Julian pointed out three members of his security detail, "Private firm, I made a significant investment in them this morning- so they agreed to help out tonight. But I doubt many will be here once the sun rises- though they may be back tomorrow night for the after-party." He handed her a glass of water, "Try this one, it will help with the hang-over you are so going to have."

Angel rolled her eyes, taking a sip of the water nonetheless. "I'm not that drunk ya know." She was just hyped up and happy and the alcohol was magnifying that. "After-party, huh? This'll just be the party that never ends."

"Children will be born, raised, and die in constant partying- it will create a new civilization," Julian grabbed a drink from a passing server and took a sip. "I know you're fine and having fun- and if I didn't think you could handle yourself, a burly man would be currently escorting you to a town car to take you back to the mansion. I just want you to stay safe, F-...Angelica," had he really just nearly called her Firefly? "To that end, alternate water and liquid deliciousness- okay?"

"Their first words will be the entire YMCA song and it shall be glorious." Angel grinned as she took another sip of water. "But I promise to alternate and stay safe. Besides, half the over twenty-ones in the mansion are here, if it gets too bad I'm sure I can get someone to take me back. Not everyone can be drunk." Well...that was debatable.

Smiling, he finished his drink and set the empty glass on a passing tray, "True enough. Just remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint." Julian motioned about the room, "Welcome to the party of the year."

"And it's a marathon Imma enjoy," Angel said as she looked around. "That's the goal then, is it? Party of the year, everybody knows your name?"

His smile turned to a devilish grin, "What else?" Behind him, something crashed and people roared, indicating something broke- Julian winced, "Let's just hope it's for the right reasons."

Angel looked back, raising an eyebrow before toasting Julian with her water. "Well...certainly a night nobody will forget. Should probably have a 'you break it you buy it' policy, though."

Julian started to walk toward the crash and turned around, "There's nothing here that can't be replaced...besides the guests I mean." He smiled and motioned for her to drink more water as he turned and walked toward the commotion.

Oh like he was getting away that easily. "I don't know, get rid of one two more might pop up," she commented as she caught up with him, sipping her water obediently.

He hadn't anticipated her following, but didn't stop her, "That's a scary thought- I mean, how many ne'er-do-wells know that I'm affiliated with the...extracurricular activities of the mansion, of which you too are affiliated- if not more so. And I've just lit a giant neon sign pointing at this penthouse to anyone and everyone to enjoy- if they're influential enough to know about it. Anyone could be here." He looked around the room with a serious expression on his face before turning back to her with a wink, "Makes for a rather exciting time, don't you think?"

Angel laughed at that. "Now all you need is a murder and it'll be just like one of those mystery movies. Or crime shows." She made a show of turning to look around the entire room. "And then I can say things like, 'The murderer is standing right in this very room,' and be all mysterious and stuff."

"Gasp, how can you be sure, Inspector Jones?!" Julian mocked, secretly filing away the idea for a television treatment. They came across the source of the commotion, two men in wife beaters had been fighting, knocking a standing clock into an end table, shattering its glass top. The security detail was already restraining and removing the two men as the crowd began to disperse. Julian used his telekinesis to move the clock upright and clean the glass shards up from the floor as he moved in to give instructions to one of the guards. The man nodded and moved off with the two men who were still trying to fight. He turned back to Angelica, "Mystery solved, just a couple of jack-asses."

"Elementary, my dear Julian!" Of course that was as far as she got before they found the real problem. Honestly, Angel would never understand the appeal of getting into a fight in public. All it did was make people look like asses. "Ah well," she said with a sigh as she watched the green energy encase the clock and shards of glass. "Not nearly as much fun as a murder but probably a lot cleaner. Glass is easier to get out of a carpet then blood."

The glass floated to a nearby trash container and fell inside with a tinkling sound. "That's true," he smiled, "though the house keepers would probably be able to take care of it." Julian looked around at the crowd, "I haven't thrown a party like this since before I left for China." A memory of Cassandra nearly rushed to the surface of his head, but he pushed it away as he had been for months. A glass of wine found its way to his hand and he took a large gulp of it. "This might be bigger than my parties out west too."

"Might just be easier to get a new rug at that point," Angel commented as she looked around, taking in the crowd. "Quite the socialite, Mr. Keller. Been partyin' your way into the hearts of people all over the world?"

He shook his head, "Just domestically, the Chinese didn't care for my kind of socializing- their loss I suppose. Wait, do international waters count?"

"Eh, you don't need their approval anyways." She finished the water, and started directing Julian back towards the bar to get a drink. "But yes, international waters count. Lots of partying at sea?"

Julian shrugged and led Angel back out to the poolside bar, "Just for a few days with some South Seas pirates- now those men...they could drink." He finished his glass of wine and motioned for Edwardo, "Two shots of the nastiest rum you have, my good man."

"Hi Edwardo!" Angel greeted the bartender happily and turned her attention back to Julian. "Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum? Well technically a shot in this case. But yo ho ho and a shot of rum isn't as catchy."

Putting a twenty in the tip jar, Julian picked up the shots and handed Angelica one, "Yo ho ho then. To new beginnings, my dear Angelica?"

Angel grinned as she held up her shot. "Yo ho ho to new beginnings."
