Tandy finds Julian at the party- serious conversations ensue, then dancing!

The music was thumping, the crowd was dancing nearer the DJ and Julian sat at the bar, trying his best to ignore the glittery unicorn that was fading in and out of existence next to him. Megan's pixie dust was finally starting to wear off- he was just glad it hadn't been a fear-based coating that had gotten him. "Shut up," he muttered to the fictitious-equine, who was doing his best to chat him up about the impact of the destabilization of Eastern Europe and what it effect it would have on the stock shares he'd purchased in Alibaba. Taking a sip of his drink, Julian turned his attention to the dance floor.

Tandy wasn't planning on coming to the party but Adrienne, her guardian, convinced her. The blonde was on the dance floor moving to the rhythm. She was immune to Pixie's dust but she was enjoying watching other people talking to something that wasn't there. If only she had her camera.

When the song ended Tandy walked over to the bar and ordered a drink. "Hey." She said looking over at Julian.

"Good to see you, Tandy," Julian smiled at the student- who was likely not-of-legal drinking age, but if she grew up like he did, that probably didn't mean much. "Go easy tonight, okay? I don't need the cops trying to arrest me for providing to minors," he winked. "Enjoying yourself?"

Tandy smirked. "Don't worry. I have a back up plan if the cops are called." It also helped that she had her new fake ID - thanks Artie. "Yeah. I am just wait for the moment when we all get attacked by something. It seems to be a recurring thing especially with this many of us in one place." Tandy looked around the room before looking back at Julian. "You do know how to throw a party. This one I promise I will remember. How are you enjoying yourself?"

He glanced at the unicorn, who was now dancing with someone across the room, "Fine."

Julian had knew that Tandy had every reason to be nervous and switched into adviser mode, after taking another sip of drink, "You shouldn't worry. I have a literal army of private security protecting this event- all vetted to ensure they don't have any Fucks of Humanity or, even worse, Purifier leanings. Not to mention, I'm here- so nothing could possibly go wrong." He mocked looking up, as if the sky were about to fall- spilling a bit of his drink on his pants. Then, with a cocky grin showed off his perfect teeth, "See, I just tempted fate and nothing happened- hell, fate is here tonight I'd wager, getting disgustingly inebriated."

"I don't know too many people who would tempt fate. But be careful, she might get back in a different way. Like waking up next to someone you will regret later." Tandy took a sip of her own drink and leaned against the bar. "Also you spilled a bit of your drink."

"Wouldn't be the first time, on either charge," Julian smirked and waved the attendant over to refill his glass. "Fate has made me her whipping boy for years now, ever since I manifested really. I had a bit of a breather back in California, now- I just say," he raised his glass to Tandy, "-screw it." Perhaps he was being a bit too open with her, "My troubles aren't yours though- I'm glad to see you out and about, you can't be the next big thing if you hide yourself away."

"Scandalous." Tandy said as she raised her own glass towards him and smirked. "I guess if you are going to live your life when Fate is always on your back, just go with it. No use fighting it. And don't worry. You heard my sob story on the roof." She lifted an eyebrow. "Next big thing, huh? I doubt it. Too much lime light isn't good for the skin."

"Only for people who weren't born for it, like you and I, Tandy," he sighed and turned toward Tandy. "I might get a reality show out of this party- go on to start doing product endorsements and ribbon cuttings- but I get the feeling that's not what you want out of life." He leaned forward, "So what do you want, Tandy?"

Tandy looked over at the dance floor for a moment when asked what she wanted. Finishing off her drink before looking back at Julian, "That is what I am trying to figure out."

Julian nodded, "Best damn answer I've heard all night." Was his speech slurring slightly? He chuckled and leaned back, "You know what I wanted three years ago? I wanted to be an X-Man. If I'd done that, I'd have never traveled the world, never ended up learning to fly, never met...." He shook his head, his free hand unconsciously touching the pocket watch in his vest. "I do go on, don't I?"

"Never say never." Tandy whispered and shook her head. "No, I don't mind. Honestly. I suppose I am just someone that is easy to talk too."

"The mixture of an insane amount of wine, and pixie dust- by which I mean the naturally occurring variety that our friend from Wales produces- also helps, but yes, you are a very approachable person." Julian smiled and set down his glass, as the song ended and immediately faded into a new one. "Do you know what I want to do right now?" he asked, standing from the bar stool.

"Does it help that I am still considerably sober?" Tan shook her head again, "I am afraid telepathy is not part of my power lists."

"Telepathy isn't, that's a shame. How about super-gracefulness?" He held out his hand to her, "Come dance with me? We'll avoid the unicorn."

"That has been called into question a number of times." Tan set down her empty glass and took his hand. "But I have to ask...what unicorn?"

"Unicorn, what unicorn?" Julian echoed, his eyes widening slightly, as he damned pixie's powder once more. Leading her into the crowd, he smirked, "I have to wager you're better than I am, Tandy- no pressure now though, let's just have fun!"

"That doesn't answer my question." But she would continue to ask him questions about a unicorn that wasn't there. "I did take dance before I got into theater. I wouldn't want to show you up. Making the host look bad, might not be a good idea."

"I promise not to have security kick you out for making me look like an uncoordinated baboon," he smirked and began happily dancing to the intoxicating music.

"That would be very kind of you." Tandy returned his smirk as she fell back into the rhythm of the music.
