Angel and Tandy || Boy Advice
Oct. 24th, 2014 12:53 pmTandy decides to talk to the resident Julian Keller expert about her fake boyfriend.
"Hey Angel, do you have a minute?" She asked her former New Mutant mentor. Tandy had to remind herself this wasn't awkward at all and that it was okay to ask the ex-girlfriend of the guy she wasn't really seeing advice. Okay - Tandy was lying to herself about it but she really needed advice from someone that knew Julian.
Angel looked up from the textbook she was pretending to study - midterms, yippee."Yeah sure, what's up?" She asked brightly, shoving it aside.
"Okay this might seem a little weird but um...what can you tell me about Julian?"
"Julian?" Angel tilted her head. "Um...devilishly handsome, totally full of himself but somehow still manages to be a decent guy, really likes throwing money around - seriously, for our first date he charted a plane for us. It was ridiculous." She was still smiling fondly though.
"Whaaa? He took you on a plane for your first date? Who does that? I mean I am asking because there has been concern about our...um...fake relationship."
"Julian Keller does that." Angel laughed before raising an eyebrow. "A concern about your fake relationship, huh? And what might that be?"
"Well, I have people coming up to me and telling me to be careful. Is there something I should like know?"
At that Angel's smile faded a bit, and she sighed. "I mean...Julian's a good guy. Impulsive as all hell and ridiculous, but good. I'm sure you heard about what's going on with his dad-" It'd been all over the news for weeks, "so he's got that reputation to fight against...it's not a particularly great situation. He's not a horrible person, though." That she could say with confidence.
"Yea I have." Tandy nodded. She had heard about what happened to his dad and kind of knew what he was going through. "Another question, does he always do things that are over the top?"
"Yes," Angel said without hesitation. "I'll admit, some of the stuff he's been pulling lately is new even to me, but he's always been prone to grand - and yes over the top - gestures. It's just who he is, I think. He sees that he has the money to do these things so he says why the hell not and does them. Like the impulse control in his brain is just permanently turned off."
Tandy couldn't help but smirk at that bit. "I'm totally glad I am not alone in thinking that his brain is hotwired weird. I mean it is cool that he wants to do all these things but kind of weird at the same time. I mean weird in a good way."
"I used to think it was just that I wasn't rich so I couldn't understand it, but I'm glad someone else agrees with me." Angel laughed. "He won't hurt you, though. I mean, not on purpose. If a creepy blonde does a mind whammy on him then all bets are off, but what are the chances of that happening twice?"
"No, you aren't alone." Tandy laughed with her. "Creepy blonde does a mind whammy? Was he mind controlled? That is horrible. Why would anyone do that? And this is why I am nervous around telepaths."
"Yeah, prom night man." Angel sighed. "There's always crazy things going on. But like I said, probably not something you have to worry about." She winked.
"When people say Prom Night I just keep thinking of the slasher film." Tandy shrugged. "So he is totally cool? Legit? I don't have to worry about him turning into a monster?"
"I think I would've rather been in the slasher film," Angel muttered with a good-natured eye roll. "But yeah, he's legit. No worries about him turning into a monster or anything."
"That bad? You don't have to answer that. And that is good to hear. I mean it is just difficult when people that you trust tell you he is a jerk. I just rather ask someone who knows him on the other scale of things."
"Nah, it's a story for another time." Angel smiled, waving it off. "I mean...the problem is Julian definitely can seem like a jerk. I mean you got this guy who you don't really know, sweeping in, tossing money around and buying out New York like its going out of style. So yeah, I can see why people would think he might be an ass. But I also happen to know that hes' a decent and loyal person, and he's a good friend. So whatever your gut's telling you, trust it. You're the only one who knows what you think of him."
Tandy blinked at her for a moment before she spoke. "That is good advice. I like him...asafriend." She said far too quickly. "I guess I shouldn't really worry about what people says. Even the stupid tabloids."
Angel raised an eyebrow, smiling a bit. "As a friend, huh?" She teased. "It's okay. He's charming and good looking. I got into a war with another girl over him. No shame in a crush."
Tandy blushed, "No. Not like that."
"Okaaaaaaaaaaay." Angel's sing-song voice and wide grin informed the blonde she didn't believe her for a moment. "Like I said though, no shame. In your theoretical crush. That totally doesn't exist."
"I am totally going to go now. Maybe go to donut shop and see if they have any Halloween flavors."
"Try the pumpkin spice, it's amazing. Or on a totally not-normal note, they have a Frankenstein flavor. Don't ask what it tastes like, just try it. Oh hang on!" She grabbed her bag, digging out a twenty. "Mind bringing me back a couple? Weirdest flavor you can find. My butt's glued to this chair."
"Sure. I'll bring you the weirdest flavors they have." Tandy smirked. "I'll be back within the hour." Glad she had changed the subject because she didn't like Julian like that. Did she?
"I'll be here. Forever." She totally did. It was obvious just by looking at her. But Angel wasn't going to take the joy out of her discovering that herself.
She'd figure it out in her own time.
